March's Double VIP- What are you buying?
Vindicare replied to TheFuzz's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hoping to buy 60008 Museum Break In & 60026 Town Square. I'm not holding my breath, as they've been sold out/on sale for about a week now. I fear I slept on them too long...I may have to head to TRU and hang my head in shame as I pay their mark up prices...I guess I deserve it though... -
Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Vindicare replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Everything is awesome! Can't believe the fig line up here. 3 new Spideys, Carnage?! Bummed the classic Green Goblin comes in the Juniors set though. Those brick built LEGO bricks in the Ant-Man set are fantastic. -
Pretty impressed with the whole line up, honestly. The figs are great, I don't own an Ivy fig yet, so the reuse is okay by me. Love the new Robins, the New 52 print is awesome! Strange that Harley has her cowl, given that the costume looks to be New 52, as does the face print. Excited about Deathstroke(Oky, theres an idea for your light/dark series-Slade/Wade Wilson)
-
So, because you don't have time for it now, you're going to just give it all up? That seems strange. I look at pictures/read more about LEGO far more than I deal with my own stuff, but I wouldn't sell anything just because of that. You said it yourself, you still enjoy it. Hang onto it, it'll still be as it was when you find time. That's my suggestion.

Should new castles have (raised) blaseplates?
Vindicare replied to Artifex's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I'd like to see a newly designed raised baseplate, one like the old one with the long ramp on the left side. I believe it was used in an old Castle set. -
Since you're contemplating getting rid of them, I guess it's pointless to ask if you collect the figs. So, I'll just say, as Oky did, that this is likely the only time you'll see either fig as they are in this set. Of course, that could also lead to some nice dollars selling them. I'd take a look at eBay, Bricklink and such and see what they're all going for on average and decide from there.

Licensed Sets LEGO Missed the Ball On/Never Made
Vindicare replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
The 6869 Quinjet Aerial Battle & S.H.I.E.L.D. truck from 6867 were excellent, I thought. The whole wave was pretty good. As far as misses go, all the unnecessary vehicles, namely with Batman & Spider-Man. Of course, that's from an adult perspective. Kids probably don't care about an odd drag car, a golf cart of doom, or a trike. They just see something cool to use in a chase scene. If you go to the Spider-Man section of the action figure aisle, I'm sure we'd see the same ridiculous vehicles. And, to echo others & because I'm a huge fan, Harry Potter. We just need more. Most of all(as was said), the other two houses! While obviously not as prominent as Gryffindor & Slytherin, they should have warranted at least one torso each. -
Oof...it seems like so many people missed reading that Sony still controls Spidey. I don't even know how many corrections I've made on Instagram already. Everyone saying welcome home! MCU just has him, for now, for one movie. It'll be interesting to see where the story begins in the next reboot. I imagine they'll do his origin again, simply because of new viewers. We know how that goes. Police, wait a few years, police. Repeat.
-
Hmm...interesting news. It almost sounds like Sony wants to immerse themselves into the MCU, but still hold the reins. Bringing Feige & Pascal on & wanting to 'character swap' of sorts between the two companies is promising. Guess we'll see how things go leading up to Civil War and see where things lie.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Vindicare replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
What's this? How would the jumper break/crack the legs? I have one I got with the Green Lantern set, tried it a few times, not sure how the legs would crack. -
Part of me definitely agrees with you. It does seem the roster is getting dominated by licenses. I don't see City going anywhere, but I think every other evergreen theme they have has been on hiatus at one time or another, seemingly for a licensed counterpart.
-
Damn you & this picture. Since seeing this, I've been obsessing more than I normally do over Marvel/DC goodness. I opened the 6 sets I had in my unopened stock just to get the figs out. Went out, bought 76025 & 76022 ahead of others I want. I feel like a Pokemon trainer...gotta catch 'em all! Great shot by the way, even with the doubles, that's an impressive family photo. Even all the con figs...whew.

76022 X-Men vs. The Sentinel Also saw The LEGO Monuments Roadshow. If you have a chance to see it, I recommend it. The one downside was them not listing how many bricks it took to create the buildings. But, wow, we're they impressive.

Wow, well done! Lots of action to take in. The Flash's streak is awesome. That Anti-Monitor is killer, nice build.- 12 replies

While I don't watch my YouTube reviews so I haven't heard the complaints, I'd wager on them being a bit too critical and using an adult eye & forget this is a child's toy. Since the biggest complaints, more or less, seem to be repetiveness of some themes. City & Star Wars being the main offenders. While we dislike the numerous police & fire sets that don't change substantially from year to year(although police is remedying that with the forest/swamp variants). But, it's really no shock that boys like police cars & fire trucks, so of course TLG will be popping those out regularly. Star Wars tends to be much of the same. Vehicle after vehicle.

That's an interesting list. Looks like they're giving the axe to a lot of good stuff, seeing as it's not on the list. My wallets okay with it, but I'm not...

I'm really enjoying Batman Eternal. It's nice seeing some lesser known villains(at least to me- Professor Pyg & Hush just to name a few-since I own, it haven't started reading Batman yet because I'm still looking for the individual issues of 1-8). The stories have been pretty exciting and you see a lot of the Bat family members as well, which is cool. While its not exactly Batman, Gotham Academy is a decent read. I love the artwork, something about the 'realistic' art style gets me. I prefer the more cartoon style artwork. Being only a few issues, the story hasn't said a whole lot, but it's alright so far. It's a little Hogwarts-esque with going about the school, getting into trouble & figuring things out.

2016 action theme?
Vindicare replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm on the fence on about it's ending. I have the first wave and really enjoyed the sets, especially the figs. Past that, I haven't bought anything Chima minus the sabertooth polybag. Just because money is being on comics as well, so I had to cut back. I would like to get them, but they're lower on my list than other themes(same with Galaxy Squad). -

Which set is the one you enjoyed building the most?
Vindicare replied to BlackVagrant's topic in Community
Definitely 10225 UCS R2-D2. I was so fun watching him take shape after each part of him was built & added. -
Wow, you really captured it well, especially that shot from the back. Excellent job!

Great idea with the hinged seat.

More like Seattle gave it to them by that last call. I can't stand it that they won especially because of the cheating...ugh. I'm sure Seattle thought they were being tricky by not giving the ball to Lynch, which they clearly should've done, and trying a quick pass instead. I feel bad for Kearse the most. After that amazing grab he now gets outshined by the stupidity of the coaching staff.

I have some scattered about my tabletown. Iron Patriot, the Ultimate Spider-Man team & Doctor Doom are the ones roaming around. The LEGO Movie is the non City theme main attraction right now. Once I get the next round of sets, I may do an Avengers/Justice League set up.
-
I would love to see a tie & not have a winner. Being a hometown 49ers fan & a Packers fan, really can't root for the Seahawks. But, my disdain for the Patriots, even moreso now, will trump by bitter unliking of the Seahawks.
