Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vindicare replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I noticed today, that 10230 Mini Modulars should've already been released. We've had 5 since the first set. -
Nothing for me... haven't tried the takeaway method yet though.
-
That's a good point. I recall the bonus period for points usually lasts two weeks. Wonder why the change.
-
Delayed or not, I hope there's going to be plenty at the LEGO store I'll be going to in October for double points. This is about as 100% accurate a set that I've ever seen. I know one thing for sure, 10225 R2-D2 should be delighted to have a friend around, if he accosts him, that is. He's been rather lonely without C-3PO.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I would certainly hope so. While I will arrange them as such when the time comes. It would make for an interesting, yet odd in ways, town layout. You could put a park or some such in the middle, but it would be hidden from view on a table. After thinking about it & quick blueprint, 10190 Market Street is the odd man out. I suppose that is somewhat justified, as it's not *officially* a Modular. -
I was ready to gripe about finding the right color grey to match...but I guess I won't. Neat little piece though.
-
I've seen the color mods you've done(yellow as well), but that chrome addition...wow! It really makes the set pop! Great idea.
-
He's really the only justifiable variant releases(Batman, to an extent) that we've gotten thus far. With so many armors I wouldn't mind seeing it continue. I do enjoy seeing all the customs out there, but I'm a purist at heart. Going back to Hulkbuster suit and Hulk's size. When put together, the disparity between the two is annoying, but otherwise they're both appropriately sized.

Wow! First off, that floor in the bar is amazing! The outside is a cool build as well. Looking like they built up & around the little bar. Very cool.

I'm betting it's the small vignette scene for Christmas, much like the Halloween trick or treating & Thanksgiving dinner ones.
-
That would be a lot. Maybe just one 16 wide in addition to. I do like the idea though, different sized buildings would be great, as someone who doesn't MOC. I'd love to see townhouses, much like 10218 Pet Shop, in different colors, but with nearly identical facades.

I've for two DC sets from this year left to buy & I know I've got until at least sometime next year, but what kind of urgency should I have on getting them before they disappear?
-
Great line up, but I'm still waiting & hoping for Aston Martin Le Mans car. The Audi & Mustang will be definite buys for me. That Audi is b-e-a-utiful!
-
While I'm sure he's coming, New 52 Red Hood. Preferred with an Iron Man like helmet.
-
That bow is really fantastic. You should watch the movies, they do a great job of following the books pretty accurately.

But that's a big part of the fun of collecting. Meeting new people and showing off what you have that they don't, not as a "haha, you don't have it & I do" thing, but a mutual excitement for the hobby. I guess that's just me.
-
This. Comparing WV releases to a seasonal coffee? That's...odd. And, I'm not a collector of Christmas ornaments, but I have no doubt they release ones each year that aren't to be seen again. That's what collecting is all about. There will always be people who missed things. People had 3 years in a row to buy this, so there was plenty enough opportunity.

*cue Vader when he found out he killed Padme* NNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! This better not happen... -
That's part of the fun of collecting, showing off(or being shown)something rare that you own that others have only seen in photos. This ruins that for some. I know, being LEGO, it's sort of a moot point since you can Bricklink the set anyways, but still. It just kind of ruins the collecting aspect. While I don't really care, as I don't plan on selling, but it is quite astonishing & fun to see what these old sets go for. As many have said, 10199 Toy Shop will(probably have)take a huge hit due to this release.

Thinking more about this, I feel this is a bit of a slap in the face for a lot of us. The vast majority of us have at one time for whatever reason, stopped buying LEGO. We all missed out on things we'd like, as goes for anyone who collects things. This is essentially saying "too bad for you" to those of us looking forward to this theme every year. Missing sets sucks for everyone, but I still would rather have something new. If it would've been a significant change or improvement I would've been okay with it. Take City, we get police & fire stations every few years, but they are vastly different from their predecessors. Same goes with the recent bike shop pizza parlor sets. Had it at least been a complete color change, I'd be alright with that, as in some instances of a block of retailers, the looks are the same. I just REALLY hope they don't go that route for the Modulars. There isn't any set that I look forward to more than those.
-
Oh my...they better not do this. Modulars are what really keeps me going & is the centerpiece of my town. I do love my 10182 Cafe Corner, buti wouldn't want an identical building on the street. This is hugely disappointing. Why couldn't they have at least made major improvements to it like they do with other remakes(SW, City Police & Fire stations). I am(may be was )a completionist with this line. I'm not too sure that the new prints & parts...along with the new price tag...are enough to get me to buy it. What a bummer.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I believe it's solely from a source, so...let's say it's "sort of" true. It would be a fun departure from what we have gotten from the Modular line thus far.
