This is true. Personally, I enjoy these movies because I enjoy & love the comics. Seeing my favorite characters brought from the pages to life. Doesn't really work when they aren't recognizable.
-
What other reason do you see for them having a Black Johnny? I hardly doubt iys because they couldn't find a White actor to portray him. It didn't add anything to the story, he isn't Black in the Ultimate comics.

Fantastic Four earlier & Dragonball Z Resurrection of F tonight. Former was pretty good, the latter was amazing.

That Doc Brown & StayPuft Marshmallow Man though!

I just meant that a lot of people won't see it because of all the bad publicity it's gotten, and could in turn, Fox may lose out on all future comic movies as well. Take "Apocalypse" for instance, people who saw Fantastic Four & hated it may just decide to not see X-Men & Fox will lose more at the box office. That's all I really meant with the disservice to Fox themselves. It's a big, probably highly stupid, blob of "what if", but we comic fans are a fickle bunch.

well, here goes nothing, Fantastic Four. Saw it & obviously in the minority since I liked it, for the most part. Doing a little research as I'm not well versed on the Ultimate universe, they did a good job story wise with the origins. The Thing looked pretty rad, personally. Just need pants. Come on people...pants! Dooms look, I'm not a fan of it, but I don't hate it. Granted, Fox has a rep of ruining characters appearances. I didn't really like the green splotches, but I get it. Oh, and was there an credit scene(s)? I forgot to find out prior to.

Definitely overboard with the vehicles. My biggest gripe with vehicles at the moment is with 60097 City Square. It really didn't need to come with a helicopter or flatbed tow truck. We've gotten more than enough of both in just the last few years. I could even do with the tram, as I have 8404 Public Transport Station. All those unneccessary vehicles do is drive up the already high price.

Well, she can. She just leans forward a bit more than the rest. It's not too noticeable. I absolutely love the set. The build wasn't anything exciting(no "oh cool" moments). But the finished product is great. While the price is a bit steep, it's probably worth it. I haven't looked into it, but I imagine each fig would go for $10 +/- on the secondary market, so the pieces are essentially a bonus. Plus, I finally have one of those more size appropriate dogs, very cute!

I was searching frantically during both viewings, I didn't spot her. I'm not really convinced that Fantastic Four is as bad as people are saying. Since news of this film & casting as come out people have been saying like a broken record how bad this movie will be. So, I'm betting they went in with that mindset. I'll find out for myself tomorrow. I read, this may be a stretch, that this movie was rushed because of Fox's time running out for ownership of the rights. If they rushed it for this sole purpose, then that is a huge slap in the face to comic fans(along with many of their decisions in this movie) and is a huge disservice to Fox, as it gives them a lot of unneeded criticism.

All the action! Very nice work. The (more appropriate) truck is great, as is that Audi. Ice use of binoculars to make the logo.

76036 Carage's SHIELD Sky Attack 76927 Black Manta Deep Sea Strike
-
Just got through building 76027 Black Manta Deep Sea Strike, I'm a bit disappointed with Black Manta & his lack of a head. I like the fig & all, it just seems weird. Granted you can just throw a head on, just a bit surprising to see(obviously I hadn't read any reviews on it). I really like the mask print on Robin however. Throw a black cape/cowl on him, you'd have a pretty cool looking fig.

Seeing Sheldon up there dressed as the Scarlet Speedster, and remembering that episode. Leonard dressed as Green Lantern....bit what about Howard/Raj? I'm thinking Howard was Batman, but what about Raj? I'm assuming it was either Superman or Aquaman(probably not Manhunter ).

Just got an email from TRU about a midnight opening Sept. 4th for new Star Wars toys. On the store page for this event, there's links to the different categories for SW toys, including LEGO. Here's hoping.

Ordered 23102 Big Bang Theory More tiles. Lots & lots more to come...

As I begin to sidewalk my town, tiles with curves would be nice. Example, on the curved baseplates currently you'd have staggered plates as a curb instead of a smooth line like you do on straight plates. The outer edge would be difficult to do, given its length. But, the inside edge could be done. There's a curved piece(I think) that could be used on the inside. Also, 90 degree turn plates & straight plates that dead end(studs on 3 sides) would be helpful.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vindicare replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Assuming they haven't switched up the pattern, then yes. It's always been a corner, then two. -
A LEGO Brickumentary. A fantastic movie. Showed a lot of the community, behind the scenes of a lot of projects, the life size X-Wing build, Nathan Sawaya and his exhibit, among many others. A fun look at brick films, Brick Arms. Definitely watch if you can. Sadly, no mention of Eurobricks.

Yes! This was my plan from the get go. It's nice seeing it in action.

Tiles, tiles, and more tiles. Went to the local secondary market shop in town, very handy for piece buying. 2x2 black & whites, just a few because I forgot to check the floor plan on 10184 Town Plan's service station garage section. It was missing one of the light grey 2x2's that goes in front of the door...and of course I forgot to grab one, my reason for going in the first place. And some dark tan to finish up an area. Was going to buy dark grey ones, but noticed 3 different shades in the bins...so, I have to color match to the ones I have later.

Moc builders vs Collectors, Lego civil war!
Vindicare replied to PaddyBricksplitter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm with you. I'd never do it, but have at it. And yes, the secondary market wouldn't be what it is iffy weren't for them. I talked to a guy at a LEGO store who has bought two copies of every Star Wars sets since its beginning. One to open, and to keep. That is an especially large lump of cash, but he has a nicer lump of cash sitting in a closet somewhere. -
Moc builders vs Collectors, Lego civil war!
Vindicare replied to PaddyBricksplitter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm also of the 'on the fence' variety. In one thought, I think the people who buy just to stuff in a closet goes against what LEGO is, and, a bit of the greedy side when it comes to money. Without a doubt any set will sell second hand even if opened, so the need to not open is a bit of a waste. I'm the collector who opens and builds per the instructions(I swear I've never watched any Octan TV shows, I think for myself!) and, for the most part, keep set pieces with that particular set. The only things that gets mixed are the figs from the City theme, since I have a tabletop set up, Superheroes, HP, Star Wars(to an extent- clone army, keeps Jedi in bag), LotR/Hobbit figs get separation anxiety. Otherwise, sets that don't get displayed get bagged & tagged into plastic containers. -
Trainwreck. John Cena & LeBron James stole the show for me, they were hilarious. Great movie overall. A ton of comedian cameos.

What're people's opinions on the end credits scenes? Also, I heard were getting footage of Civil War at Disney D23 next month. Seems awful soon, but I'm excited.

Ant-Man. Sunday & today. I enjoyed it. Especially so because I didn't nit pick afterwards, since I don't know much about Ant-Man/Lang.
