The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Vindicare replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I realized the other day while admiring The Scuttler....I wonder why it didn't get a yellow windscreen...Riptide & Speedwagon both have one. They've all got similar accents....kinda strange & slightly bothersome. -

I'll echo the sentiments here, PR is a fantastic building. And of course, the older of the two. The colors are great. While interiors don't really matter to me because I rarely pull off the floors once I build them, they are fun to build. BB also has all that as well, specially building the ground floor section of the bank itself. But again, PR is older, so it's likely to go first.

Recently got The Batmobile & The Scuttler. Both are fantastic sets. Builds were fun, the models are great. Both vehicles are just plain ol' fun. Batman really does have all the best toys. -

What would be considered a "large" LEGO collection?
Vindicare replied to Brikkyy13's topic in General LEGO Discussion
According to Brickset: I have 509 sets, 476 different at 205,142 pieces. My collection ranks 4684 out of 159,327 members. I'd say you have a large collection. But it really depends on what or who you comparing.- 36 replies

This was my initial thought when emailing them about the issue...I just don't know if it's high enough to warrant action. I imagine, just from my own experience of buying that it's not a big problem. But nearly every time I go into TRU, I see an opened box on the shelves. I just couldn't get over thinking what kid could've gotten the set instead of me & how upset they'd be because the minifigs weren't there.

My pile of books is rather large, the ones that are waiting to be bought. And I'm having trouble trimming the fat... Figured I'd look for some inspiration here on cutting back. How did you convince yourself to cut back, even when it's stories you're enjoying at the moment?

As this topic is fresh in my mind, as it has recently happened to me for the first time, it has me thinking about it a lot. I acquired 70909 Batcve Break In in a trade at the local third party store. Nothing seemed amiss, I broke the seals as always, emptied bag bag one. Noticed Penguin, and his minions, were gone. I checked the contents to make sure there wasn't two bag "1". Then I checked the rest. Nothing. No figs. Took it back, gave it a look over and noticed the tape. On the bags and the box. What I got to thinking is, what can TLG do about this? I imagine not much, as they are at the mercy of the store employees. I mean, they can send stores a policy of what to do in the case of a return, like to look at the seals carefully to make sure they're true. But again, it's implementing lays in the store. I sent end an email outlining what happened to TLG, just to keep them informed.

http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/the-lego-batman-movie-gay-propaganda-bigots-a7595236.html Wow, I don't understand people. Conspiracy theorists are an odd bunch. Clearly, a few reviewers don't understand Bruce Wayne IS Batman, therefore only one man adopted Grayson. They're reading way too much into Dick(damn those cruel kids...) not knowing that Bruce is Batman the entire time. What at do you guys think about this? Note me to mods, I understand this may be a bit too close to the political topics we don't talk about here, but thought it okay.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Ugh...upon further inspection, it got pilfered. Evil. It didn't even dawn on me at the time. It's never happened to me. The seals were taped over with near exact tape. Bags were carefully taped back up. It feels violating man... I just can't believe this. But, I am glad it was me who got it as opposed to some kid. They wouldn't understand. It leaves me wondering how aware retailers are of this...or how much they care. -

Okay, this is just way too strange. Just opened a brand new 70909. Started building and noticed there wasn't The Penguin or his henchmen. I checked the box to make sure there wasn't two "1" bags. Nope. I then looked at the other bags. Not a single minifig piece-ANY- are in here. At all. Seals weren't broken, bags are sealed and correct. I don't even know where to begin. -

I would love to see more Harry Potter. The new Dimensions(Hermione finally getting her own causal attire) is nice and clear that HP still holds weight to them. I kinda fear that the first HP Dimensions pack may not have sold as well as others did. I'm not sure that many non game users would actually buy it. Its also somewhat refreshing to see The Silent Mary, as we haven't had PotC in a few years. Not sure how it helps our chance of a new Hogwarts though. The ship coincides with the movie. Not sure the school would coincide with the current series.

That always bothered me as well, the stud space on the street plates. I never liked just tiling the entire section, made the sidewalks too large to me. What I did is extend the sidewalk a few studs(took the light grey tiles from the Modulars), leaving the last two rows for a bike lane. Best of all, it makes connecting the Modular & street plates together easy & snug with 2x2 tiles.

Mini-figure storage on studs lead to crack under feet?
Vindicare replied to Ckubrick2's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There's a thread here in this section, "cracks in minifigs" I believe is it's title. it's a really good read. It goes into what may be one of the root causes of cracks. I have a lot of clone troopers that have been on a baseplate for many years now. I checked some, & I have zero cracks. -
Blargh...here I was sitting excitedly waiting for the Lego Batman movie to start. Previews hit...and this is the first thing to assault my eyeballs...
