  1. Eh, I don't think it's necessary to create a sub theme for adults with guns & such. We can always buy them and add them, even just he revolvers TLG offers. Plus, it seems a lot of AFOLs are tired of the constant rotation of police(outside of not getting a modular yet), so I don't see people clamoring for it.
  2. Why do you say the last wave was botched? Hardly the case. We got the Knight Bus, a great extension for the Castle, Diagon Alley, and Narcissa in a cheap set.
  3. Build Your Own Adventure book
  4. Definitely. They very well could've woven FB in much like Rogue One sets in SW. They missed quite a few things & some old stuff definitely could've used a refresher. Just thinking about how they could've expanded on Diagon Alley...and a new Shrieking Shack. So much. Although, maybe it had something to do with vehicles, or a lack thereof. SW & Superheroes all revolve around vehicles. HP only really has two, the Knight Bus & the Weasley's Ford. To a lesser extent, there's Hagrid's motorcycle. There's just so much missed opportunities on minifigs that I'm bummed about.
  5. Awesome, thanks. Yeah, I started doing a list check of bricklink prices for some high value ones...then I thought of doing a spread sheet showing what I paid for them versus what they're worth now.
  6. @Captain Britain Ha, I like the way you shoved Ms. Marvel in there. I'm not completely sold on the arms, but I appreciate the attempt.
  7. After spending the last week or so rewatching all the movies...and looking back at older sets, we really need some updates on minifigs. Notably Quirrell, Moody, Sirius, Lockhart, & new introduction of Slughorn. We could also use a Cedric Diggory in order to get a Hufflepuff uniform. Then Luna for Ravenclaw.
  8. Wow, quite the lot of creative builds. And the colors. Great job.
  9. I never delved into SW books either until recently. I have a few, most of which I haven't read-Catalyst being one of them. But the ones I have read- Revan & Aftermath- I have enjoyed.
  10. I am so jealous of the deals you find...I've checked mine fairly regular since reading your finds...nothing. I still need that Killer Croc set so I may have to make another run.
  11. This topic pops into my head every now & again, how do you all have your collection insured? Is there a special addition for it? Is it merely covered in a general blanket coverage of your items? As of now, it sits as a blanket one for us. My collection(retail according to Brickset) covers roughly half the amount. I'm thinking of talking to our agent & see what's available, and was curious to hear others approach.
  12. They've done this on the past...I believe it was labeled "Legends." It included a few different sets, one being the Black Sea Barracuda. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable can better confirm, but I don't recall them selling very well. So, not sure another line up would be good for business.
  13. Ahh...that might do the trick. I've done the BBCode before, but it just showed the text I copied. I'll have to try that out.
  14. Putting them in line with others will be tricky, especially so with Fishing Store. For example, I have Haunted House in line with the Pet Shop, but there's a park area on a 32x32 in between them. So, you could try something similar. Or, put it near the others, but single it out by the waterfront(if you have). As for Ninjago City, this would be slightly easier as it is a Modular...it's just very busy compared to the others. And the "sidewalk" area won't line up & May look a little funny, unless you MOD it. My plan is to retire the water area with dark grey tiles to make a little back alley kind of area.
  15. Sadly no...I don't know what the problem is. The picture loads, but it's huge. I tried double clicking, on both my iPad & laptop, but nothing happens in either case. On my laptop, I got a faint plus sign then when I put my cursor over it, had the four point arrow but it didn't resize...
  16. Guess I'll put this here... I'm trying to add a picture, obviously, using the BBCode only puts the text there, but copying the "share" works. But the picture is too big. I tried editing on Flickr(still fairly new to the place) but couldn't size it down.
  17. The only ones I'm bummed about are The Phoenix & Spider Woman. They could've very easily done the red or white version of Phoenix in favor of her most commmon appearance to be used in regular sets.
  18. Very cool. I like the smoke effect from Voldemort. Nice tower build as well.
  19. Looking for a combination to create Borgin from Harry Potter for the shop from 10217 Diagon Alley. I did piece together a "John Wick." I used Lex Luthor from 6862 Superman vs. Power Armor Lex. Although I think a more fitting suit would be the CMF sax player. Then use the coachman's head from 4193 London Escape & finally the latest Snape hair.
  20. 853651 The LEGO Batman Accessory Set Friend got it at Legoland over the weekend. He mentioned that VIP, aside form early access, isn't honored there. I guess it has to do with ownership, but that's a stupid move, especially when there's mark ups on prices.
  21. Reading "Ready Player One" again, thanks to the SDCC trailer. As a side note...I'm intrigued to see the new quests/jet added for the movie...and Spielberg's reason for doing so. I'm excited.
  22. Doctor Doom is also coming...I hope the news of the Skrulls being in the MCU means that Fox also gave, or lent... Doom to Marvel Studios. I didn't hate Ultimate Doom from the last movie...but I didn't love him either.
  23. You can thank, or blame, licensed sets for the minifig craze. Named characters we know & love from movies & other media, it's a no brainer we're going to want them. Plus, especially so with Superheroes, the builds seem like secondary...or even trietary. Look at 76078 Hulk vs. Red Hulk. It seems that those car things...were an after thought. Maybe kids like these oddball vehicles, but generally, it seems AFOLs aren't fans of the builds we get. Could the designers have not thought of a more appropriate backdrop? An 8x8 building half destroyed & perhaps a car that could be broken in two would've been worlds better. I know there's many factors that go into set design behind the scenes, but for $60, I think my idea above could've been pulled off petty well. But then we get gems like 76057 Web Warriors: Ultimate Bridge Battle. Excellent set with a vast amount of new figs. So, we know TLG can do it.
  24. http://nerdist.com/radio-flyer-announces-driveable-star-wars-landspeeder/ Gonna leave this here.
  25. Waking Gods by Sylvan Neuvel. A cool story about giant alien robots. Been a while since I read the first book(Sleeping Giants) so I don't remember specifics...but this sequel is so far, so good.
