Here is another photo: And here is the mechanism of the cabin tilting: Note: The floor of the cabin is very low, it was difficult to find place under it for the small LA(which is tilting the cabin) the drivetrain to the steering wheel (especially because the cabin is tiltable) And of course it was important to stay the chassis rigid.

Hi all! I am making this project for the contest, i did not finished it yet, but here the time is to share some details about it. Unfortunately i have little time to build(5-10 hours weekly), but i try to finish this vehicle until deadline. The project is a Mercedes Econic garbage truck. I tried to build the truck (mostly the cabin) the same as the real one, but the garbage treatment section is an own creation. I used these pictures for guide: More pics here and here! So let's see some details about the vehicle: dimensions: LxWxH: 80x21x23 stud (63x17x18 cm) pieces: 4100-4200 weight: about 4 kg fake engine: 4 pistons in a row 3 axles, 1. and 3. axles are steerable in different angle, also the steering wheel is turning in the cabin 6 motorized functions with 2 M and 2 L motors and 3 gearbox. Functions: 1 L motor: changing gears 1 L motor: driving / blade sweep 1 M motor: steering / tailgate raiser 1M motor: garbage ejector / slide packer Manual function: cabin tilting Little functions and details: tilt seats, dashboard, openable grille, openable doors on both sides, etc. The video: You can download the LXF file from HERE! (*.rar) Thanks!

[HELP] Drift Car
Eraman replied to Renamed99's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
try to use only rear drive! And the center of mass should be on the front(the back have to be light) -
Hmm, otherwise, use only one motor for driving, if it isn't enough, make lighter(smaller) model. Or the driving will be an exception when you can use 2 motors, other function have to be powered only one motor. Right, i agree with you, max 4 motors with 2 Sbrick, and fuctions are minimum 4, maximum unlimited!:)
-
Ok, my plan: 4 motors, 1 motor change the gears, so i will have 6 power function(with 3 motor), 1 function is steering, 1 function is driving and 4 other functions. Plus i will have 1 manual function, cabin tilting. Is it good for this contest?:) I hope, yes:)

It's a good contest again! I don't understand exactly: "When using a gearbox, your model can have more than 4 functions (6 for example, like the 8043 Excavator). The model needs 2 PF IR Receivers which can be replaced by one or two SBricks." .... Model needs EXACTLY 4 powered functions (no more, no less)." Which is the right? i think this is the best solution: use exactly 4 PF motor, and make minimum 4 function powered by the motors. If you want to use gearbox, you CAN use it, with it the functions limit will be max 8(or 6 if 1 motor change the gears). I have a question: can we build extra MANUAL funtions(above the 4 power function)? For example: cabin tilting, headlight tilting, etc.?

[TC5] Artic Truck
Eraman replied to Eraman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you! I tried to do my best, I'm satisfied with the result. I was able to build the half of these functions only in the first versions, so the result is a big stepping forward Colours can be better, but the parts amount and colours are very fixed, there are minimal variations. -

Colour scheme can be better, if i dismiss 1 or more functions, but i think the functions are more important in technic than appearance
