  1. I haven't done the math, but doesn't the box say 1:10 in the top right corner?
  2. Looks like a great part pack and I'm interested to see the functions, but I have to admit I don't really like it so far. But I have to admit it has got some nice things to see. - At least 5 3x11 DBG panels - 6 3x11 Dark Blue panels - Lots of the new curved gear racks, should be interesting
  3. What's it gonna be? I'm curious after that awesome a-model.
  4. If noone else steps up, I can do it. I want to learn making instructions in MLCad, this can be an exercise for me. I can start next week after I submit my entry to TC9. I'm not sure how long it will take but it should not be longer than a week. One suggestion: shouldn't the B-pillar be black according to the reference image.
  5. This is insane! The sheer size, the amount of detail. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. Also, the amount of detail! Did I mention I love the detail?
  6. Yeah, that's the style I was going for. Also this, this, and this. Thank you for your comments. I never attempted it because it would either require me to increase the overall length, or decrease cabin length, both of which mess with the scale. I want to create instructions for both models if I can, maybe you can try after that. I'd be interested in the result.
  7. I hope they use the new rubber studs on the BWE tracks.
  8. Maybe they are toying with the idea. This year they'll see if a Technic UCS set will sell or not. And if it does, they'll keep producing new ones in the following years. Even Star Wars or Creator UCS sets must've started small, right?
  9. Love the 4-point harness, excellent idea! The roof seems to be a bit narrow though, any plans to make it wider?
  10. I've been hoping for a Porsche 918, but a 911 GT3 RS will do fine too. If they make it in orange, that means we'll be getting a plethora of orange pieces, which is good news.
  11. Time for an update (a minor one, but still) Last weekend I took the final photos & videos of the Manitou and dismantled it. Then I built the hot road using the original pieces, and some modifications. Overall, I think it looks more proportionate than the first version. - Widened the rear part of the cabin by two studs, so the sides are slightly angled for a better 'hot rod' look. - Reduced overall length by one stud. - Added some detail to the engine - Widened the rear axle by 2 studs. This gave the rear end a bit wider look and created a slight illusion of wide rear tires. But I'm not too fond of the tires popping out too much out of the mudguards, I think I'll narrow it down by one stud. Another reason I'm posting this update is that I finally tried the new backdrop (read: curtain fabric) and I want to get your opinion on it. I think the new one allows for a broader range of contrast, resulting in crisper pictures. Enough talk. Let's get to the pictures. I was planning on taking more, but my camera's battery died, so these two will have to do for now. What's better than a big air filter on a mean engine? Two big air filters of course! A proper V10 needs to suck a lot of air to keep its foes in the dust. I've always liked naturally aspirated engines over turbo ones, mainly because of the E39 M5.
  12. I'm in the same state as you, I really want to get a couple of buggy motors, and I have the same concerns. In addition to that, I'm waiting for some more information on PF 2.0. Lego recently announced WeDo 2.0 and declared that its connectors will be compliant with PF 2.0. I'm worried I might regret getting buggy motors if they announce a similar one in PF 2.0.
  13. Thank you for the render Blakbird, they look amazing together. It really shows what a beast Jurgen's Manitou is. I also really like how it brings out the similarities and differences. I want to avoid staying in the same range because I like sets where a and b models are completely different machines. Plus, I think it's more challenging and fun this way. Yeah, I'm aware that it should a bit wider & shorter, but that's a bit of a problem for me. Most of the liftarms that are available are either long (13-15) or short (7-5). I have very limited medium length ones, and this is the main reason building 2 studs wider is very tough. But it's still a WIP, I can probably shorten it 2 studs without much problem. I'll try widening it when rebuilding with parts from the a-model.
  14. Hi, welcome to eurobricks. Very good models, I especially like the rallycross car, very detailed and the spot-on rallycross look. I hope we see more of your mocs in the future. P.S. No need to be sorry about your english, it is really good.
  15. That's what I hope too :D Thank you, yours is pretty good too Considering your entry size and part pool is smaller than mine, I'd say you did a great job with the b-model. Yes, that double bevel is for steering. I wanted to have the steering on the roof or trunk, but unfortunately I don't have any more available bevel gears to make the 90 degree connection, so this will have to do for now.
  16. Thank you all for your comments, I'm glad you liked it. It's been a long time since I posted any updates, partly because I was away for holidays for some time, but mostly because this was all I had as a b-model for a very long time: It's a cobra snake, in case anybody was wondering . Its functions were crawling, adjusting head angle, and hissing. I knew building a b-model or a c-model is hard, but I didn't realize how hard it actually was. I wanted to build the b-model without dismantling the telehandler, so I gathered the parts in a container, (having the digital model helped a lot). Turns out I don't have all the pieces to build without dismantling, but with some color sacrifices I managed to gather %90 of the parts. I tried a couple of ideas for a b-model, one of them being a dragster. I gave up on the dragster idea because the wheels did not look as I expected, and I was lacking the parts to build a proper engine. Then I started toying with the idea of building a slammer hot rod, and a couple of days later this came up: I call it "B807" because its first overall shape looked much like a smaller version of 8070 B-model. I would've liked to share more WIP photos, but it all happened very fast! I built the basic shape&chassis this week after work, and I've been building&rebuilding almost all weekend. I used up almost all my beams from the a-model, and all I have left are a bunch of connectors, cross block pins etc. The functions are HOG steering, and pneumatic doors. I may also add pneumatic rear hatch, but I'll have to try it after dismantling the telehandler. The engine is an (extremely) fake V10. . I'll stop building now temporarily because I'm having trouble building without the right colored pieces. I'm waiting for a bl shipment to arrive with the second 1x11 cylinder. With that in place, I'm planning to do the final photo&movie shooting of the telehandler this week, and dismantle it afterwards. I'll continue building this next week. P.S: Can one of the mods change the topic title to "[TC9] Manitou Telehandler & B807 Hot Rod" please?
  17. Haven't you heard the story of the rabbit and the turtle?
  18. Thanks for taking the time to do the test and record the video. I'm really glad the rubbers work good, will sure come in handy.
  19. I'm bringing this topic up because of Jim's statement in the TC9 discussion topic, saying "I will (most likely) never limit a contest to studded or studless.". I wanted to reply to this but did not want to steer that topic off course, so here we are. I dunno, some mini-contests can be held limited to studded/studless building for fun. Or they could be small 1-2 week challenges like "Build an (insert your favourite machinery here) with less than X studded parts". Challenges would not have a prize, therefore only simple voting could be used, just to show members' favourite build.
  20. I'm not a contest regulator, so I can give you an unofficial answer if you want. That's a technic brick and I can't think of anything that would limit its usage, so go crazy with it .
  21. Terrific. Thank you for doing these. Meanwhile, we are still waiting for the contest image from Jim
  22. I'm currently visiting my family, so I'm away from my legos. I have some ideas for the b-model and can't wait to try them out in a couple of days. I've gathered copies of the pieces of my a model in a seperate container and will use them in the beginning, but I'll have to dismantle the a model to build the b model. I plan to leave the last 3 or 4 days for shooting and editing, so I have less time for the b-model. I'm really enjoying the contest, and some really good models are being revealed. Kudos for organizing this.
  23. I think you could make 15 or so different attachments with the extra pieces :D
