Oh thanks. I did check it but got so busy that I was wondering once again! Good news! I;m still afraid of playing with an ipad in my hand, where for my creations would be more suitable to have a material joystick (for driving and steering) and some sides switches for other functions. And all this build in LEGO bricks too. So the next step should be to integrate a small device that contains a bluetoot that we can fit and fix in "our remote controll". Do you think this could be possible?? The pic shows what I would like to have as remote control, and using the Sbricks!

Ok thanks very much! The last question: rather than a smartphone can I use an Ipad? being bit bigger in size would help a lot at controlling a range of 10-15 functions!

Cos from my point of view, and for what I've seen so far, Mindstorm it's more based on "softwares, programming, electronics" applied on simple technic/non technic models, and most of the time for "explorating and learning porpouse", suck as studentish things. Techinic designer/players prefer to have a "ontime" controls of the functions, rather than programming a machine that does it for you. Plus the way of thinking it's completely dfifferent, we have motors, LA actuators, and funcions. So an INPUT, a mechanism and a movement. Pure technic and mechanical, it's there, you can see it. Where programming or telling a software to move your creations sounds like if there is a line between you and the model. Hopefully makes sense.

I have a question: so far we have seen videos where a vehicle with 1 Sbrick and 2 functions, as driving and steering. And the device (smartphone) and the interfeces where pretty simple, 2 sliders (1 for driving and 1 for steering) or maybe centered point that moves in all directions (Volvo 42030s) BUT, if I'll have 3 sBrick on my model and 12 functions, how the interfeces would be? who would realize it? does the app recognize the Sbricks and create itself a finger slider por each function?? Cos otherwise we would not be using the all potential the sBricks have! I'm looking forward for all these answer, but even more looking forward to the next models I'm planning to realize using at least 3 sBricks!

I have a question to the Sbrick team: how much would cost (more or less) a single Sbrick once on production? Let's say on december I head to your website/online shop looking for an Sbrick...what's the price I'll be finding for it?

Looks quick enough, and steers nicely, but I'm not fan of the servo for steering.....anyway good job!

Sorry Jim for the off topic but I'd like to get the chance ,talking about renders. to make a deep post about it as I do these things daily for my job, if you let me!!- 20 replies

I have a question: we all know that we can use up to 16 Sbricks (and each with 4 peripherals). So questions are: 1) in each of this 16 Sbrick referrable to a channel? The norlam Lego Receiver has only 4. 2) What happens if me and my friends we play with our model, and for istances my model has 7 Sbriks, my friend's model has 7 Sbricks too, and another friend of us has 7Sbricks. In this case the we would have a total of 21 Sbrick (major than 16) and we would be all playing in the same room at home....it's the case where you get interferences? One more questions is: I see everybody testing his Sbrick with a smart phone, honestly according to my tastes and uses, I wouldn't find it comfortable, I still would prefer to create a Lego remote control to hang with my hands, but having within a Bluetooth inside of it! Does it make sense?

Nope, I mean that set doesn't really need 3 Sbrick, but I think you can have the SET, 1 Sbrick for the SET and 2 spare Sbrick for whatever you would like to use them for!

Hello harman. Yes the hydrostatic transmission works also as a brake, but conventional disk brakes are necessary anyway when we talk about heavy machiney! Anywya....now what you should do in my opinion is to use a double cuopling system and 2 valves that controls the oils directions, maybe having a differential between the 2 outputs in order to avoid damages parts due to the oil pressure. I know it's not nice to work with oil at home  but you could use plastic floor covers or things like that!! About my solution, hopefully I'll be releasing it after the summer. Unfortunately it turned at being very busy at moment so I've go other priorities....but fingers are crossed!!!

Hi Harman. no worries. So talking about "hydrostatic transmissions" (or converter) we mean an oil trasmission that having only one direction as input can swap the output direction from forward to backward (and actually neutral aswell), It's an "easy" concept, made with 2 valves that control the direction of the fluid. Normally the conbine harvesters use it cos it's smooth and gives an high manouvrability. basically the engine goes always on and only one direction (input) then the converter drives the fluid (oil) back, neutral or forward. Enjoy! Plus, the reason why this big machines uses this sort of CVT transmission it's not all about comfort, but truction. Cos using a conventional clutch there is a moment where the engine (input) and the wheels (output) are not connected, and this means loss of traction!!! So all the movements are smoot, gear shifts too and no loss of traction! This is what we should build in lego! I'm getting closer with my next MOC, but it's more based on a "gearing" concept rather than a "oil" transmission....it meas it has it's limitations....but still cool ideas!!!
-
Very cool idea!! The bus looks ugly as hell but I the looking was not the point! I have two remarks: first would be nice (if possible) to achieve the same "smooth" effect with just LEGO parts. the second thing is, as you are using "oil" I would build a converter so you can swap from "forward" and "backward".... Anyway I really enjoyed the video and all the technical explanations!!!!

How can you remove them? Opening the box?? I don't think it's wise to sell something new in a opened box Probably the answer is they have the 42030 sets for a very cheap price....waiting for an "official" answer please...

Guys I have a question: with the 180£ pledge we will receive a 42030S Set (volvo loader) plus an Sbrick. How can they make money (and how effectly the pledge helps) if the RRP is 169£?? Unless they get the normal 42030 for a very cheap price I can't figure out how this pledge helps at founding!
