VC, no problem. Actualyl makes sense what you did as it's just for a quick visualization! When it will come to the final ones we can get in touch!! Bytheway at this stage the only thing I would recommend is the picture is contrasted and looks flat. You just need bit more lights to show shapes! Otherwise you are doing fine! well done! I'm fan of this project!!

Wonderful project!!!!! well designed, love it. Only a question: 48 hours of render and such a bad result?? There must be something wrong!!! To make renders it's part of my job, so if you need some tips drop me a PM! This project needs better render!!!!!!!

[WIP] C4 Corvette
TheItalianBrick replied to timslegos's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
well, he is good, sure, but due to the nature of LEGOs his gearboxs are not smooth, neither work afterall. If shifting means to stop the vehicle motion every gear then I wouldn't say it's a win. IMHO But yeah i rekon his gearboxes are pure art in our Lego world. -

I'm totally in love with it! simple, clear, clean, well designed with that cheer on the cake: the clutch!! Probably I would add few more tubes to the engine to make it bit more realistic and "full". OUTSTANDING overall :sweet:

Caterpillar 7495
TheItalianBrick replied to Konajra's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Stunning! Love it and love all these little details!!! Now VIDEO!!!!! -
It will be cool! Love half truck! About the ratio only you need to consider is the diameter of the wheel that has to be similar with the height of the tracks, the closer the better. then if you want to get something crazy you must got for a double clutch system, therfor you won;t need any middle differential. The tricky part will be to calibrate the speed of the left and right tracks according with the steering whells. for istance a servo that while steering actuatues the 2 clutches! this way you will get a good ratio! if you won't do it, then I'll do it!!

Axles and torque
TheItalianBrick replied to aol000xw's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
A good trick could be to fix the XL motors with some shock absorber in order to let the torque be dissipated trough the springs. that means you are not loosing power, you are simply releasing it in a different way! it may save your axles from twisting. -
