  1. Unless LEGO does something very very different to how they normally do things, the earliest we could see any future Jurassic sets would be next year.
  2. Pitty its not Big W that's got the new sets, what with the 10% off "friends and family" coupon floating around. A further 10% off the already-low Big W price on some of the new sets (like the City Square for example) would be a bargain (if only I had the money :( )
  3. I suspect the toy industry generally (not just LEGO) was caught way off guard by just how much of a runaway success this film and its merchandise have been. But what success there is is VERY time limited. There might be a bit of a bump in sales for toys when the thing hits DVD/Blu-Ray or around xmas but after xmas, any interest in Jurassic Park/Jurassic World stuff will fade away to be replaced with interest in the next hot tie-in toy line.
  4. Nothing new at Robina or Pacific Fair. Still no sign of any new stuff here in qld :(
  5. Would like to build a train (or maybe the Gold Coast Light Rail) but I just dont have the parts. Not really a fan of boats so no plans to build a ferry.
  6. Some of the info in this post wont make any sense to people who dont know the transport system in Brisbane, Australia (its originally posted on a transport forum) so just look at the LEGO pictures :) Here are pictures of the 3 different Volgren CR225L bodied buses I have built out of LEGO: First up we have Hornibrook Bus Lines Scania K230UB 139 doing a 315 to Scarborough. I was going to build it in Translink colors but I didn't have enough of the right shade of green left so I copied the color scheme of Hornibrook 109 instead. As for the number plate, I got a ride on 139 between Petrie and North Lakes and I swear I wrote down both the number plate (241 RDF) and the number correctly but the fleet lists says that 139 has 242 RDF. Anyone know for sure which is correct (my memory or the fleet lists)? The desto sign should say P315 but there wasn't enough room to put the P in and still have it fit the space on the side. Next up we have Brisbane Transport Volvo B12BLE G5009 doing a 111 to 8 Mile Plains. I was planning to put Brisbane Transport logos on the side where the TransLink logos are but I couldn't come up with something that was recognizable at that scale so I went with the TransLink logo instead. And finally we have Logan City Bus Service Volvo B12BLEA 555 doing a 555 to Elizabeth Street. I am still trying to figure out a way to make the bendy bit in the middle so that it looks good but still allows the bus to bend, hence why its just got the bits that join the two halves together for now. More photos of all 3 buses can be seen at https://picasaweb.go...wfreo/Translink If I can figure out how to do the sloping window on the side in LEGO, my next target is going to be a Surfside Bus Lines bus in Surfside colors (probably another Volvo since I like Scandinavian machinery)
  7. $199 for the City Square isn't bad given the RRP is $249.99
  8. Nothing spotted at Big W here in Beenleigh as of earlier tonight.
  9. I dont think anyone can truly say for sure whats different in these sets until instructions (and parts lists) appear. Based on previous instructions that have leaked, the only parts in the BTTF level pack that are new/exclusive are the hoverboard and the red guitar (although the same red guitar with printing has appeared in CMF series 14)
  10. They really missed out by not doing ANY sets for Minas Tirith in the LOTR line. So many other locations that could easily have been turned into sets. Heck, the whole LOTR line is full of missed opportunities. Then again, given that LOTR/Hobbit didn't exactly sell all that well, maybe they made the right decision not to go too far. I do concur with those who say Indiana Jones needed more things too although some of the scenes fans wanted just weren't possible for LEGO to do given their policies (how they were able to put the tank in LEGO Indiana Jones the video game without violating LEGO's policy against "modern" military sets I still don't get)
  11. A few good ones here. Always after more scientist figures (mad or otherwise) so this one will be good. And new colors for the flask is also a good thing. The black cat is nice but not enough to make the witch worth buying. Gotta have the fly though, its just too cool to say no to. Gargoyle is interesting and with an unprinted head would be perfect for decoration on spooky buildings (or just old Gothic buildings). Definitely interested in the skeleton guy. The guitar is VERY nice on the monster and the torso is unusual (with the padlock chain) so I might have to get that. The "Braaains" newspaper is great, will have to get that too I suspect (and the hair looks very nice) If the hair on the zombie cheerleader looks good on non-zombie figs as just generic hair, I might get one of those too. Zero interest in the werewolf, zombie pirate, plant guy, specter, tiger girl, banshee, square foot or spider girl (neither of the 2 ghosts really look like they would fit into Ghostbusters MOCs all that well so I am not interested there)
  12. Going through the list on Brickset, the only figures not listed in the Brickset database are 71235 (not sure who he is supposed to be) and 71238 (the Dr Who fun pack with the Cyberman and Dalek) Anyone know who the figure in 71235 is supposed to be?
  13. Just supported that LEGO Movie train, already supporting the steam train box.
  14. I wonder how well the Horizon Express (last "expert" train) sold and whether LEGO may be reluctant to do another AFOL-targeted train if the HE didn't make enough money...
  15. Some of the new sets are showing up at Big W aparently. The new City Square set (with the orange tram etc) has a normal Big W retail price of $198. Also if you are lucky you might be able to find some Big W stores (especially in country or smaller Big W stores that don't get lots of sales) you might find some sets that are on clearance (especially older sets, you may need to scan them with the price checker since they may not have a shelf tag)
  16. I wonder if the news about the Corvette is a good or bad sign when it comes to the Ideas set currently under review... I am disappointed that we aren't getting any Lamborghini product, a Speed Champions Lamborghini would be a must-buy for me.
  17. First pictures of the 3 Ghostbusters packs for this game http://brickingaround.com/2015/08/05/first-look-at-ghostbusters-lego-dimensions-packs/ We have a level pack with Venkman, Ecto-1 and a trap/containment unit, a fun pack with Slimer and a Slime Cannon and a fun pack with the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and a Terror Dog. I gotta have the Slimer pack (he is sized close enough to minifig scale to actually be useful in GB MOCs) although I am not sure on the other 2 yet. These dimensions packs could send me broke and I dont even have a console that can run the game...
  18. This is a seriously amazing ship. I recon this guy would be perfect for your crew :)
  19. LEGO only does 3 series a year so no there wont be another series later in the year.
  20. Yeah the number of CMF parts ending up in regular sets is surprising. But still, making the assumption that something like the Bagpipes from the S7 Bagpiper or the Mask from the S11 Islander or the Instrument Case from the S5 Gangster or the Handsaw from the S13 Carpenter are OK to use in an Ideas set might be a risky proposition.
  21. The Duplo Batman Bat Boat set, new Friends, Elves, City, Bionicle, NinjaGo, Minecraft and Star Wars (except the Episode 7 sets, buildable action figures and advent calendar) are due out in August so they should be in stores soon. The new Technic, Star Wars Advent Calendar, buildable Star Wars action figures, Episode 7 sets, Scooby Doo and Series 14 Minifigs are due out in September. And the Series 6 Mixels and Spider Man Duplo set are comming out in October.
  22. The mold in question (the robot arm clip piece) was an active mold at the time the Exo-Suit was produced (including being used in light bley in several 2013 sets before being used in 2014 in the Exo-Suit and Benny's Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP!) so no it wasn't some old mothballed mold. It just happened that the mold in question was nearing end-of-life at the time it did a production run of lt bley parts that ended up in the Exo-Suit (hence the need to replace it with a new one for the next runs of the part including the lt bley parts used in at least 3 sets so far this year) But yes I do agree with the statement not to use obsolete molds that may not exist anymore (or if they do exist may be too much work to bring back to life). I was going to suggest not to use parts from the Collectable Minifigures line or that are otherwise made in their China factory on the basis that those aren't allowed in Ideas sets but then I remembered that the Ecto-1 contained the weight elements that were previously only found in the Series 2 weightlifter and Team GB weightlifter before that so CMF parts must be OK in Ideas sets.
  23. How do you know it will be motorized out of the box? All we have is some vague set names, we dont know a thing about what the sets will contain. Unless someone knows something I dont...
  24. biplane set and mystery machine are sold out on Shop @ Home for Europe/Australia/New Zealand, the other 3 (mansion, lighthouse, museum) are still available.
