  1. I suspect it was mostly language/localization (both translation as well as any legal issues and rules in different markets
  2. I too think Cuusoo would be perfect for this. Its not so large that it wouldn't work as a Cuusoo product. Its cool enough that AFOLs would be interested (heck, I can see plenty interested just so they can have a coffee shop in their town even disregarding the LEGO Movie connection) and its got the tie to the LEGO Movie for kid appeal.
  3. Wow, that's amazing.
  4. With that police helicopter polybag we are getting no less than 4(!) police helicopters this year plus the helicopters in Arctic. You have to go back as far as 1999 or so to find a year when LEGO didn't release some sort of fire, police or rescue/medical helicopter. But hey, that's a good thing as these helicopters (and the sets they come in) generally look cool and have cool parts :)
  5. Come to Australia, we have plenty of LEGO Movie sets (since they have just been released here :)
  6. +1 to this, LEGO needs to stop licensing things like Lone Ranger and Prince of Persia. Heck, even Indiana Jones may not have been the best idea. Look towards licenses that have staying power, genuine kid appeal and a big universe to draw from. Super Heroes (both DC and Marvel) makes a lot of sense as there is a vast universe to draw from, plenty of kid-appropriate/kid-targeted content (the cartoon shows especially) and new content appearing all the time. Surprised LEGO didn't go anywhere with their Ben 10 license, its very much kid-appropriate, popular with kids of the right age and still pumping out new content last time I looked. Plus with the huge number of aliens that watch thing can transform into, there would never be a shortage of set ideas. (although it may be that the license was canceled/taken off them based on complaints from other licensees of the property rather than abandoned by TLG)
  7. One option is to try and copy the bus from set 7641 City Corner. Its a great design and doesn't require a lot of expensive-to-get parts.
  8. Official release date is August but they may appear earlier than that depending on the country and the store.
  9. Yeah I suspect even though LEGO technically owns the IP as such, because of how the deal with Warner works and because of the ties to film, Warner got to set the official "street date" for these products and they cant be sold until then.
  10. TLM sets combined with a 3-for-2 deal would be perfect.
  11. Nice, looks just like something one might find doing some sort of super-off-road rally (Paris-Dakar or whatever)
  12. This is a VERY nice car. For a Ford that is :P
  13. How were you able to re-create the set and decal designs in LDD? Did you use posted images to reverse engineer things?
  14. Damn, looking at the sticker sheet I see a pair of really cool map stickers, now I have yet more maps to add to my want-list to get every map TLG has made :(
  15. Not a bad train although trans-red would look better (and closer to the Futuron color scheme) than trans-orange.
  16. Yes, we need more variety in hair pieces. I for one want more variety in the lighter colors (i.e. blond hair)
  17. A 3-for-2 sale would be the perfect opportunity to get the 3 2-in-1 "city" trucks (ice-cream truck, garbage truck, plumber truck)
  18. TLM sets appearing on shelves combined with a 3-for-2 sale would be perfect.
  19. Picked up the last police station from MYER Robina today. Still a good amount of stock of most other things though. Nothing super-big though (no opera houses etc)
  20. Why didn't they go with a switch design that matched with what they had in the 4.5v/12v days, that would have been perfect.
  21. Finally picked up the TRU Giraffe polybag (for $10) from the Toys R Us at Garden City (after looking in every TRU in Perth and others in QLD and not finding any) They still had a few left if anyone is looking for em.
  22. Its not red, I think its dark red.
  23. nope,no discounts other than the 20% Whats the best way to get the new police stuff? (The station in particular) MYER 20% off? wait for a bigger sale? buy online?
  24. For those in QLD, MYER Brisbane CBD has a good amount of stock right now including a couple of Opera Houses, a Mindstorms, and a few of the big Technic cranes. Plenty of new City, Star Wars, DC Super Heroes, and architecture. Only Lone Ranger is the mine and a lone indian camp. Plenty of LOTR and Hobit though. And Friends if ou want that. Oh and all the Juniors stuff including Batman and Spiderman. Plus 1/2 a box of TLM figs.
  25. Not sure why but seeing the "Diner Deli" makes me think of Seinfeld for some reason :)
