  1. Got a report from another forum that the Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP! is showing up in the TRU computer system with a date of "August" and a price of $149.99 (whether that info holds true for everyone or just TRU I dont know). That said, the markup is exactly the same as for every other 2014 set that has a US RRP of $99.99 (all the ones I can see on shop.lego.com also are available for $149.99 Same report shows the police ship at $119.99 and the construction mech at $89.99 Seems like the markups on 2014 sets are higher than they were in previous years (probably because the dollar is so volatile but is on a general downward trend)
  2. Spotted both Minecraft and Mars Rovers (no DeLorean though) in Mr Toys Brisbane CBD if anyone still wants those. Best price on Simpsons figs too at $4 (David Jones and MYER wanted $5 and Target wanted a ridiculous $6, none at Big W to compared prices with). A good MYER 3-for-2 or 2-for-1-50% deal should bring them below $4 though if my math is right. As for Monster Fighters, what % discount has the Haunted House reached? And if the same discount applied to the Castle, what would its price be?
  3. For those looking for it, MYER Brisbane CBD has a LOT of Opera Houses in stock.
  4. Nice job, maybe I will do an RACQ van (since I am now a Queenslander plus I have taken out contents insurance with them :)
  5. The 11L in red is selling on BL for as low as 15c The one that seems to be the most expensive (out of the ones used in the 8448 anyway) is the 14L Just looking at the prices of those 14L axles and some other parts from the 8448, I am so glad I bought the 8448 back in the day (it was the set that brought me out of my dark ages actually :)
  6. Nice harvester, looks really realistic :)
  7. FYI, as of earlier today Big W Beenleigh had Simpsons figs in stock.
  8. LEGO have already done a ferris wheel: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=4957-1 A swinging pirate ship ride would be great if done right and would be bought by pirate fans, city fans, theme park fans etc. Or maybe something like a Gravitron or one of the many rides like the Ranger or Rainbow that follow the pattern of having a big pole in the middle, an arm with the center of the arm attached to the pole and then a car or seating point at one end of the arm (the other end usually has some sort of counterweight). Or for that matter a Zipper would be super-awesome (would need a LOT of technic bits to pull it off though :)
  9. Very nice, I just love Ice Planet and I love what you have done with the theme :)
  10. If you want to build medieval type MOCs (especially if you want to build in grey) and can find them, buy the LOTR Mines of Moria and Helms Deep sets as they are GREAT sources of grey parts. The LOTR tower of Orthanc and to a lesser extent Black Gate are great sources of interesting black parts if you want to build black.
  11. So trucks with helicopters on the back are actually a thing and not just something LEGO invented for City? Cool :)
  12. The base in that picture looks like its basically the same as the http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=493-1 Space Command Center.
  13. Has anyone here been to Bricks n Fun in Capalaba? Whats it like? How does it work for buying parts? (When buying on BrickLink etc I tend to like to look through for interesting parts rather than having a strict fixed list of "this is what I need") What about buying sets? How do their prices (on parts and sets) compare to what one would pay at various .au Bricklink stores? Trying to figure out if its worth making the trek over there or not :) Oh and yes I did read their website but I want actual honest info from AFOLs rather than their marketing blurb :)
  14. Its just me living in my apartment (no wife, kids, pets or anyone else) so I dont have to worry about anyone else touching my stuff. Family who come over for a visit wouldn't touch my stuff. And if I was in a situation where I had kids etc near my stuff, I would make sure they didn't touch it.
  15. I like the idea and I like the cool selection of minifigs. I especially like the way it fits on the trucks which matches with the real ride shown here http://www.ride-extravaganza.com/intermediate/scrambler/ As a set I dont like the ride model enough to want to buy it, what with Ghostbusters and the LEGO Movie Spaceship and the Exo-Suit and other cool stuff. props to LEGO for finally giving the land down under a look-in when it comes to revealing big exclusive sets :)
  16. Nice MOC, too bad the big glass pieces dont come in trans-fluro-green to really complete the theme :)
  17. It should be possible to figure out from the LDD data files which decorations apply to which bricks and auto-generate an lxf file as appropriate. I haven't played with the LDD data files to know for sure where that info is kept or how to get at it though.
  18. I got this game (on Steam on my PC) and I have some questions: 1.Other than the Rescue Reinforcements (which I already own), are there any other physical products I can buy that will give me some sort of benefit in the game? 2.Where in the game do I go to input the number from my Rescue Reinforcements printed tile piece? 3.Is the Wild West pack the only extra content available for this game at this time? 4.Is there any information on what the Wild West pack actually contains? (is it just new characters I can unlock/buy/play or is there more to it? Is there a list of characters that are included? and 5.Is the Wild West DLC worth buying or not?
  19. The good news is that if you are programming tools to work with the LXFML stuff, there should be matrix math libraries out there for most programming languages that provide all the options you need
  20. I hope this doesn't lead to the site being a flood of licensed IP based on currently-popular crap that gets 10k just because its popular... Once I get the time, I intend to photograph and submit my "5-in-1 6-wide City cars" idea (which is basically a set of parts which can be used to build 1 of 5 different 6-side City style cars)
  21. Would be interesting for someone to go through the LEGO Movie (and video game) and identify all the piece shapes that exist there but do not exist in actual ABS... :)
  22. The Opera House was never exclusive to MYER, I got mine at Toys R Us and have seen it at David Jones too.
  23. Anyone who wants to see this (or any other Ghostbusters set) get made, BUY THE ECTO-1 :)
  24. Wow, pretty amazing. You should do the other 3 elements too :P
