Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!

There are rumors that the Ewok Village will be appearing at retail this year in the mid-year toy sales. Might be an exclusive to someone else... -
Totally forgot about that.

The staff member who was there said they had only just come in. I do remember seeing the cargo plane, cant recall what else (I don't do Technic so I wasn't paying much attention) -
My vote: 1.Professor Frink with lab coat, printed calculator tile and maybe the beaker element (perhaps in a new color) 2.Groundskeeper Willie with kilt (similar to the previous bagpiper) and rake accessory. 3.Dr Hibbert with doctor coat/printed stethoscope, tongue depressor (as printed 1 x 2 tile most likely) and maybe printed x-ray or some other printed tile (or maybe needle) 4.Lionel Hutz with suit, briefcase and printed 2 x 2 tile with some sort of generic legal stuff on it 5.Kang/Kodos with ray gun and "how to cook humans" book 7.Otto with bus driver getup, printed "bus driver license" tile and maybe electric guitar or printed music player tile. Cant think of any others I would like to see right now. I cant see any character primarily associated with alcohol (e.g. duffman or barney or moe) or any character primarily associated with guns and violence (e.g. fat tony or that texas guy who is always shooting into the air) being made by LEGO, it wouldn't fit with LEGOs philosophy. Same with lovejoy or anyone directly associated with religion (Flanders is different since his 2 appearances to date have been totally non-religious

We dont know for sure that the Sandcrawler wont be hitting retail in the future (after all, pretty much every big UCS/D2C starwars set has shown up at retail somewhere I believe) -
Not bad on what is (IMO) fairly bland source material (no offense to any fans out there but I think SEAT cars are boring :)

REVIEW: 71005 LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Simpsons Series
jonwil replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
Great review, I dont have a use for the heads but some of the torsos and accessories are good enough that it might be worth buying a few of these anyway. Oh and I think the existence of http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=33254 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=33254b and http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=33254c would disprove your claim that "itchy" is the first cartoon mouse in LEGO form :)- 118 replies

Lots of stock at MYER Carindale for those looking at the Buy 2 50% off sale. 2 boxes of Mixels Lots of Movie CMFs Plenty of Movie sets Lots of Super Heroes (only Spider-Man is one lone spider-trike) Plenty of Architectue A bit of hobbit and lotr including the black gate and weathertop. Lots of City. Technic including the new stuff. Plus they have not one but THREE Opera Houses. Loganholme on the other hand has almost no stock. -
I wasn't gonna pick any of these up (because I dont have a use for the special heads) but the torsos, legs and accessories on a few of them look so good I might have to. Some of the torsos (Homer, Bart, Millhouse, Burns, maybe others) look good enough to be useful in non-Simpsons settings.

I heard LEGO Australia has abandoned the practice of giving certain retailers "early access" to product (e.g. how Target got first access to the last run of Pirates sets a few years back or how Big W got first access to the Dino sets).

Except that I will probably be more likely to be in the neighborhood of a MYER store than in the neighborhood of a Toys R Us. And I will likely have other reasons to go that direction, even if I dont go there for CMFs. -

From another forum, reports that MYER has buy-one-get-one-50% off right now until 30th of March. Now all I gotta figure out is which MYER store is easiest to get to and how many LEGO Movie CMFs I actually want... Was going to buy them from Toys R Us at 3-for-$12 but the MYER deal is even better... (with all the sales on these days, anyone who pays RRP for CMFs is stupid :) -
I suspect the lack of entries is because the cars SEAT produces tend to be somewhat boring :)

I also think they need to stop putting certain characters only in the most expensive sets. Hulk for example has only been in the Helicarrier Breakout and the Lab set, both of which were at the expensive end. I wish Hulk was in a smaller set. That said, Hulk as a fig is probably quite an expensive set of elements to produce because of the size and if you put it in a smaller set, it reduces the amount of other content you can include and still hit the target price point. At least the new Hulk is in a cheaper set than the last one was :)

Where is the best place to get the Superheroes Hulk Lab set right now? -
Does Lego still make non-minifig printed parts?
jonwil replied to danth's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Later train sets included more logos including DSB From that sheet I can identify German, Swiss, Dutch, Belgian, Swedish, French, Austrian, Norwegian, British, Finnish and Danish. Seems like later in the life of 4.5v/12v trains LEGO was including the logos of all the rail companies from the major European countries they did a lot of business in. Then for the 9v line (and going forward to the new 2014 train sets) they created the <-o-> logo as seen on this part: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3008pb100 That new logo seems to have been created for much the same reasons LEGO created Octan (namely that they no longer wanted to use logos of real corporations on their products anymore) -
I am fairly certain they would produce Avengers 2 sets and not Ant Man, the sets for the first Avengers film sold so well.
-
I wonder why this set was never released... Was it because LEGO (or whoever dealt with licensing for the Spider-Man products at the time) didn't think a wrestling themed set was appropriate for kids?

With regards to stickers peeling off, I have a 7739 Coast Guard Patrol Boat & Tower and the stickers on the orange boat hull are peeling off like crazy (and leaving little bits of white sticker stuff all over my hands when I pick it up etc) but all the other stickers from the same set have not suffered at all as far as I can tell. -
Regarding Thor 2 and Captain America 2, I bet most of the decision not to have any sets for them came from Marvel and not from LEGO (it seems like Marvel doesn't want to have much in the way of merchandise for either film from what I can tell, preferring toy companies to focus on Guardians of the Galaxy) Regarding Spider-Man, they base it on the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon because that's what kids (the target audience) are being exposed to the most right now. And with Ultimate Spider-Man being a Sony project rather than a Marvel one, that may also impact the decision to focus on Ultimate Spider-Man. Avengers 2 will hopefully get some sets but again, right now, kids are being exposed to Avengers Assemble more so than any other Avengers/Marvel content, hence the Hulk Lab Smash set (which is still a good set IMO and a good way to get Thor and Hulk)

If it wasn't for the fact that I dont usually build train, I would be very interested in the cargo train for parts. Maybe when it hits I can find a local AFOL who DOES build train and get them to take the train parts and such off my hands (I did the same thing a while back with the red passenger train and the train platform from the same series)

Has anyone made a fire truck out of the fire mecha in 70813 Rescue Reinforcements? Google doesn't seem to be showing up anything useful.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
jonwil replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
After finally tracking down the Rescue Reinforcements, I recon its the best of the LEGO Movie line so far with the Flying Flusher and Ice Cream Machine being close seconds. Of course nothing can compare to the (as yet unreleased) spaceship which is clearly going to be tied with the Ghostbusters set as "best set of 2014" for me :)- 2,626 replies

Picked up the 70813 Rescue Reinforcements (Fire Mech) today from Toys R Us at Garden City (at $10 off the $99 RRP/shelf price) I also picked up the 60044 Mobile Police Unit from the Big W at Garden City for $38 which is a bargain considering its RRP is $49.99 and its US RRP is US$44.99. The 60045 Police Patrol (with the large white inflatable boat) is exactly the same (Big W price, RRP and US RRP) and is also a bargain IMO (but less useful to me parts wise hence why I didn't pick one up :) -
Google throws up lots of LEGO brick built sheep but nothing I can find at minifig scale. And no I dont mean a cutesy little lamb, I mean sheep like the ones in this picture. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-11-07/merino-sheep/5076996 Anyone with ideas on something I can build that doesn't require rare parts? And no, the BrickForge sheep isn't suitable either (as I want to keep this particular special MOC I am working on purist)
