  1. I suspect they will make neither of those 2 because they already have a big D2C DC set (Tumbler) and rumors say they are going to release a Marvel D2C set soon. Plus those sets (like the Jules Verne Train) are likely too big for an Ideas set.
  2. Managed to hit nearly every LEGO retailer at both Garden City and Carindale today (everywhere except the Mr Toys and Target at Carindale) Both DJs have stocks of the Town Hall, Palace Cinema, Fairground Mixer, Opera House and VW. Carindale also had at least one Pet Shop. Nothing worth writing home about at any of the other stores I visited (both MYER stores had nothing interesting, certainly nothing worth buying 3x of to get the special deal)
  3. I dont know about most of Europe but the German Index (which lists materials deemed harmful to children and restricts those materials) certainly counts (it has resulted in a number of video games being banned from Germany or heavily censored, either for the German release only or more generally)
  4. Didn't see the price on the Palace Cinema since I wasn't interested in buying one.
  5. Several Simpsons houses spotted at Target Robina for $279 ($50 off per the sign) DJs Robina has town halls, palace cinemas, fqairground mixers, opera houses and vws
  6. Its a pitty this line doesn't have any treasure in it (as far as I can see). I do like the idea of using the little gun piece as a smaller canon (for those places where a full-size canon would be too large or expensive for the set)
  7. Anyone gor any ideas how I can make a minifig scale rotary lawn mower that isnt much bigger than 2 x 2 in size? Its hard to find designs online amongst a see of useless links and iomages.
  8. I hope the detective agency is more like Eddie Valiant in "who framed rodger rabbit" than the sherlock-holmes-esque CMF detective we got. Trenchcoat, nice hat (fedora would probably fit) and a good seletion of interesting accessories
  9. I like some of the parts in the sets (like the dark red "brick" bricks) but the minifigs aren't that good and the set designs seem lifted straight from the last run of Pirates sets... I cant find it now but I swear that at one point there was some sort of vote where people were picking orange flag designs for something in the future, whatever happened to that?
  10. Is that a new map tile in the Juniors set? And does that new map tile (or any other new map tiles) appear in the other sets?
  11. Assuming the list is true, the Fencer sounds good (especially if they do in fact come with the face mask etc). Disco Diva might be interesting (the previous disco guy was cool) Hot Dog Guy, that could be neat But the most exciting one on the list is the Carpenter. Can't wait to find out what accessories he comes with (I am hoping for a handsaw or a new style of hammer as those are the 2 things most closely associated with carpenters)
  12. But I bet whatever its going to take to fix this printer will be a bit more than $10 :)
  13. The roof is removable in one big black section for access to the interior. (and thanks to the sandwich construction used it holds together no problems) As for stickers, I dont plan to make stickers for this MOC (because I cant afford to buy sticker paper right now, because my printer is having issues right now and because I just dont want to use stickers on this particular MOC) Oh and Canadian Tire isn't a hardware store, its more like Big W than Masters (if anything) so that doesn't count.
  14. Here is a WIP shot of my latest MOC, a Masters hardware store. (for those who don't know, Masters is an Australian hardware store chain) http://cncmods.net/files/masters.jpg In the shot you can see the front entrance (in the middle) and the roller-door entrance to the timber/trade section (where people who need to pick up a load of timber or gear can drive their Utes into and load up) The area behind the roller-door (right to the back) will have the timber, fencing and similar items. The area behind the windows on the other side will be the tool shop stocking everything from generators to hammers to monkey wrenches. Behind that will be the garden section stocking all things outdoor In the middle at the back will be the home section with everything indoor and home from light bulbs to rugs to padlocks In front of that will be the paint shop and checkouts and various misc things that dont have a home. Outside under the blue bit will be the ubiquitous sausage sizzle and there will also be a gas bottle swap station. I cant say for sure but I suspect that (at 48x64 in size) this is the largest LEGO hardware store anyone has ever made (its certainly the largest I can find via Google anyway). And its definatly the largest MOC I have ever made by volume (my train station took up more area but not as much volume since it was mostly empty)
  15. At least one Atlantis set included a skeleton with an Aquaraiders helmet.
  16. Can anyone tell me if any of the sets we have seen pictures of so far contain minifigs with both beards and eyeglasses? (not sun glasses, eyeglasses)
  17. Got the deal of the year today. Used the 10% off Friends and Family at Big W (the original one that didn't say "excludes all gift cards") to purchase a $100 MYER Gift Card for $90. Then I went to MYER and bought the Ultra Agents truck at the $109 catalog price less another 10% from the MYER One "extra 10% off toys" (which for once didn't exclude LEGO) and paid with the $100 Gift Card. So in the end I got the set for $88.29 (which is about 36% off RRP if my math is correct) and based on current exchange rates as of earlier today about 22% off the US RRP. Couldn't afford to buy the Arctic Base at the same time and couldn't get the people at Big W to combine the Friends and Family deal with lay-by so I could then pay it off once I get paid, Will probably bricklink the interesting bits (like the scientist fig) as soon as I can find a bricklink store in Oz who has one and that is fesable to order from (the one guy in Oz who has one only takes PayPal AND has a $20 minimum order limit and fees if you order too many things :(
  18. ok, so why the orange hips and not yellow?
  19. Can anyone tell me A.Which version of Cyclops the one in this set is meant to be based on and B.Why his legs are bright light orange instead of the yellow that every single image on Google Images seems to imply they are...
  20. Catalog price + MYER One voucher makes most of the items in their catalog good deals bargains. Assuming the 10% off Friends and Family deal at Big W stacks, it makes some of their catalog deals bargains too.
  21. Haven't seen it mentioned here but Big W are doing another "family and friends" 10%-off-with-coupon this weekend (coupon is at https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/167065 ). Unlike the last one, they have wised up and excluded gift cards from the deal (so no 10% off MYER cards this time). Not sure how that stacks with their current catalog but the offer does say "including clearance items" so it might.
  22. Any sets out there right now that have a good quantity of 1xn bricks in Orange, especially in longer lengths (1x4 or longer)? I am thinking about my next MOC and the building I am thinking of replicating is big and orange so I need more orange bricks to make it work.
  23. Wow. Just Wow. So many unusual uses of interesting pieces in here. I see pieces from basically every LEGO theme, I even see at least one Duplo piece.
  24. wow, that car carrier has an RRP of $40 so $25 is a bargain. My math makes it out to be somewhere in the order of 37% off or so. Definitely the cheapest that set (and the fire truck) is ever going to get. Not that I can afford to buy either set even at that price (unless someone has invented a way that LEGO can keep you cool on a hot day, I need to buy a fan for mt apartment :)
  25. Wow, that K-Mart deal is no less than 30% off RRP. If someone would do the same for the cargo train I would be VERY happy and would probably jump on it but the passenger train is ugly and has no parts I actually need.
