Maybe its time to pull out my black seas barracuda hulls, sails and other parts and build the Black Star Barracuda (a MOC I have had in my head for years...)
-
Both the Hobbit and POTC were in a historical/fantasy context and setting whereas Moe's is in a present day setting. Also (as far as I can remember anyway) Hobbit and POTC dont show the negative aspects of drinking alcohol in the way The Simpsons does.

Some of these look great. Martin Prince has a VERY nice torso that I have some good uses for. The green overalls on Willy are great too, as are the slingshot, eye chart, head x-ray, book and beaker. I dont think we will see a Moe or a Barney because they are too associated with alcohol (same reason we wont see a Moe's set). Also we wont see a Reverend Lovejoy or a Church set because LEGO doesn't do religion.

Speed Champions have hit the sunshine state with MYER Brisbane CBD having the Ferrari truck, F1 pit stop, finish line and the small grey car. No sign of the other sets (small Ferraris or the yellow McLaren) yet. Oh and they also have a bunch of Ghostbusters if anyone out there still needs one. No sign anywhere of the Shell Ferrari promo sets so its likely that they wont be hitting Oz at all (good for my wallet though) -
As someone who actually liked Tron Legacy (and indeed the general genere of Cyberpunk) the news of a third Tron film is amazing.

Mr Toys Beenleigh has new baseplates (green, grey, tan and road), new NinjaGo, new Disney Princess (including Frozen), new LEGO Movie and Mixels Series 4. Their catalog shows Elves, Marvel, DC and Speed Champions so they should be appearing in the next few weeks... -

Does anyone know if the Shell promo sets (the ones that were in Shell stations in Singapore, parts of Europe etc late last year are going to come to Oz for the F1? These ones http://brickset.com/sets/year-2014/theme-Promotional/subtheme-Shell I wouldn't mind the Shell Station and Tanker Truck and maybe the yellow Ferrari... -
What information do we have that X-Men are off the table? Just the lack of sets or is there something more official that LEGO wont be doing any more X-Men sets?
-
I for one hope they include a Dalek in the set, its probably the most iconic bad guy of them all.

I think the LHC project wont get up even if it gets to 10k, there was a previous model of part of the LHC that went up for review and got knocked back IIRC.

MYER Brisbane City had Series 4 Mixels, Mindstorms EV3, Volvo Excavator, Imperial Hotel, Big Ben, Leaning Tower of Pisa, all 3 new LEGO Movie sets, Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP!, construct-o-mech, super cycle chase, red Technic Ute and the technic cargo plane. Plus good levels of most other stock. No sign of the new Disney Princess yet. No Chima worth caring about at Target. -

Double Decker Couch and the last of the February releases should be showing up in stores now. And someone on another forum reported seeing Mixels Series 4 and some of the Disney Princess stuff (underwater palace and ice palace I think) but didn't say where -

MYER has one of their multi-buy sales on (not 100% sure if its the buy-1-get-1-50% or the buy-2-get-1-free though) Good opportunity to pick up Star Wars battle packs and such. -

David Jones Robina has a couple of Palace Cinemas if anyone is looking for one. Big W Robina has basically all the remaining February stock including the new lighter green baseplates and all 3 LEGO Movie sets as well as some Creator stuff I haven't yet seen (orange sea plane, go-kart and cargo heli). They were still unpacking stuff when I was there so there may have been more to come. Target Runaway Bay has a couple of the big R2-D2s. I also heard from K-Mart Helensvale that they had a big delivery of LEGO today that is to be unpacked in the next day or so. So if you want the remaining February stock, just keep looking and it will show up soon :) -
Good to see LEGO have changed the policy they have had in the past (e.g. various Ferrari F1 sets) of not printing logos of real world companies on any elements in sets and at least recognized that torso stickers are a bad idea.

Has anyone seen the friends set with the baby bunnies in shops yet? Or the one with the electric convertible? (great to see TLG going green :) -

Anyone after a Sydney Opera House (the big one) and thinks 20% off RRP is a good deal, Logan Hyperdome MYER has a few in stock (but not a whole lot else...) I also saw the new Bionicle stuff in a few shops at Logan Hyperdome if anyone here actually cares about it. -
The jet looks to me like a Friends version of set 3181 (although with crappier wings and engines)

All the starter sets are great ways to get more minifigs on the cheap (e.g. if you need construction workers, get the demolition starter set, if you need cops get the swamp police starter set etc) Lets hope the "starter set" concept continues going forward and we see other such sets with 4 figs and some simple builds at the same price point.

I do wonder what changed in the license (both between Disney/Lucas and LEGO and between Disney/Lucas and other toy companies) that somehow now allows LEGO to produce Star Wars action figures...

As of yesterday, MYER Garden City had the Cargo Train, the Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP!, the construct-o-mech, some GOTG stuff, the Passenger Train, the Super Secret Police Dropship & the Imperial Hotel. K-Mart Garden City had the Friends Olivia's House with a clearance tag for $89. Only thing at MYER Carindale I can remember that is worth mentioning is a couple of Simpsons Houses. No sign anywhere at Garden City or Carindale of any of the remaining February releases (only Star Wars sets I saw were the T-16, the AAT and the Wookiee Gunship and the only Creator I spotted so far is the beach house, toy & grocery and vehicle transporter) -
I am mostly interested in the City Square although the Space Starter Set might have a few interesting bits in it...

Apologies if this is the wrong place or not allowed but I just thought I would let everyone know that the online games store gog.com now has LEGO games (starting with the first Batman game and the 2 Harry Potter games but no doubt expanding later). Their pricing is better than Steam (at least based on the prices I am being shown here in Australia for both sites) and they currently have the 3 titles (Batman, Harry Potter 1 and Harry Potter 2) available at an introductory discount. They are also better than Steam in that you dont need to have a client program running in the background when you play. Will be good to see which other LEGO video games they end up getting and at what prices...
