  1. Actually, Target would have the train stuff on special too although I dont know if it was available at any Target stores. MYER is your best bet for finding one.
  2. Lets hope these hit Australia soon, I want some :)
  3. David Jones wasn't that good either (but then again, the LEGO section at that particular David Jones isn't exactly big). The only place to get the Cargo Train and Station on special is MYER and I think Robina had both in stock.
  4. Hit both Robina and Pacific Fair today (and the Big W in Beenleigh). Those looking for stock at MYER should hit Pacific Fair rather than Robina, Pacific Fair has more stock. Things I spotted worth mentioning: City Advent Calendar at Target (cant remember if it was Robina, Pacific Fair or both) which makes it a perfect buy since its 20% off If you can find a MYER with some in stock, LEGO Books should be 25% off if I was reading the sign I saw earlier correctly. Various stores had some LOTR and Hobbit stock (e.g. elf council, warg attack). If you still want the BTTF set or the 3 Minecraft sets, try your local MYER during the 20% off sale, the 2 I visited had stock of both. Still 2 or so Simpsons Houses at Big W Robina if anyone wants one at the Big W price. Anyone who wants an Opera House, Robina still has some (and at 20% off it starts to approach a reasonable price as a set or parts pack IMO) Those looking for the technic yellow excavator or red Ute (or the cargo plane) try Pacific Fair, Robina had no stock. I did however see a single remaining Lone Ranger Indian camp at MYER Robina. No sign of any Ecto-1s. Mr Toys Beenleigh has all 3 advent calendars (City, Friends, Star Wars). They also have the new wave of Friends animals (lion, panda, seal) which I haven't seen anywhere else. They also have the Ideas sets (including the Ecto-1). The person working there commented favorably on the Exo Suit I had with me at the time (no doubt its a set retailers would definatly stock if LEGO offered it to them) No sign of any Series 3 Mixels at any stores yet (the one thing I was potentially interested in picking up). If anyone in SE QLD is looking for something specific, post here and I will keep an eye out for it since I seem to get to all points of the compass these days for various reasons. Also of note is that both Big W stores I hit today (Beenleigh and Robina) have great stock levels (Robina had a pile of boxes being unpacked when I was there on top of already-packed shelves)
  5. Finally got my Exo Suit today, in my opinion its the BEST Space set LEGO have produced in at least 2 decades (the Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP! doesn't count in my book because its a LEGO Movie set and not a Space set but the Exo Suit is clearly a Space set through and through) Its certainly got the most detailing of any Space set I can think of (and the only parts in the set that are anywhere near "large" are the 8x8 plate and the brick separator, the rest are all very small and cool. Its also the only Ideas set to date with no real-world prototype to match to (the research lab is a replica of real-world objects like the T-Rex skeleton so it doesn't really count)
  6. I like these and am definatly interested in some of them.
  7. We dont know for sure they are re-using the same torsos, remember these are preliminary images so the use of the old forest police stuff might be placeholders.
  8. List of LEGO for the Big W clearance: Ultra Agents... 70165 - $98 70162 - $29 70161 - $20 Simpsons House $298. Lego City Arctic... 60036 - Arctic Base Camp - $98 60035 - Arctic Outpost - $45 60034 - Arctic Crane - $29 Lego Movie... 70816 - Benny's Spaceship - $118 70815 - Super Secret Police Dropship - $98 70814 - Construction Mech $ - $75 Star Wars... 75053 - The Ghost - $98 75049 - Snowspeeder - $45 75048 - The Phantom - $29 Lego City assorted vehicles $20
  9. There are reports of a sale starting on the 17th.
  10. Big W Robina has some Simpsons Houses in stock if anyone is looking for one.
  11. Massive amount of stock in Brisbane CBD as of earlier today. MYER has Ultra Agents, all the new Technic (including the red pickup truck and yellow front end loader), the big power functions crane, the BTTF car, Minecraft sets, Opera House, Sopwith, all the Starwars, all the Movie stuff, all the Ninja Turtles stuff, the City set with the bike shop, pizza joint and red bus, all the trains, all the Arctic stuff, Architecture stuff and more. No advent calendars or Ecto-1s though. Bring on a MYER sale so I can pick up my Arctic Base Camp :) David Jones had the Ecto-1, Opera House, Ultra Agents, Technic (including the front end loader) plus both the City and Friends advent calendars. Oh and one lone Simpsons House if anyone is looking for it. Nothing worth writing home about at Target, Big W or Mr Toys. Oh and if the guy who wanted the Captain America set is still looking, MYER had that too.
  12. I am very much aware of the Brisbricks expo and intend to exhibit at it (I have some nice MOCs ready to exhibit). But there is no point getting my Ecto-1 signed since I already opened it, built it and sorted it into my collection :) I could buy another one to keep sealed and get it signed but that would be a waste of money I could be spending on more LEGO to actually play with :) (like my exo-suit that seems to be stuck at a processing center in Alexandria and seems to be making no moves towards Brisbane whatsoever or so says Australia Post tracking)
  13. The Ghostbusters set is definatly an awesome set plus the original Ideas project was designed by an Aussie too so what more could you ask for :)
  14. I could see no reason why they couldn't do buildings similar in size to e.g. the toy store in the 7848 Toys R Us truck. Or to the pizza place in the 60026 Town Square. Both could be done at a reasonable price point and if they had interesting subject matter, I would buy them.
  15. It may well be that LEGO cant make the ultrabuilds anymore due to complaints from the companies that make DC and Marvel action figures, hence why they only ever made one wave. Or it might be that they didn't sell well enough to justify another wave.
  16. Personally I would rather LEGO not do any really big DC sets and instead give Marvell something really big like an X-Mansion...
  17. Thanks, that worked for what I needed it for.
  18. Lets hope these start showing up here in Oz soon, I have a use for some of the parts in some projects I am working on :)
  19. New Ultra Agents spotted at Loganholme Hyperdome earlier today, no sign of the new technic though.
  20. Has anyone seen the purple Mixels in stores yet?
  21. Great idea, I actually have Homer and if I can come up with the bat, I think Homer would be close enough to work.
  22. I am working on a MOC and I want to incorporate a minifig scale cricket bat. I know BrickArms makes a custom cricket bat accessory but I want to keep this MOC purist plus the BrickArms cricket bats are very hard to get (certainly in tan. the color that they are most useful in). Anyone got any suggestions on how to make something that would be recognizable as a cricket bat to someone who knows nothing about LEGO and look good (and not too big or out-of-place) at minifig scale? Google isn't throwing up anything useful (only custom-made bats and the aforementioned too-hard-to-get BrickArms bat). Some ideas for how I could build a cricket player (in the white getup worn for international Test Matches) would be nice too. Just something generic I can have standing there holding the bat, not intending to represent any specific player.
  23. Very nice, we dont see too many sci-fi train MOCs.
  24. Mr Toys Australia Fair has all the August stock now. No sign of the Captain America set there or at K-Mart though.
