  1. Can anyone tell me what the hair on the cop in the barber chair is? Or the tan colored hair next to it? Or the black hair on the guy in the pool room? I wonder what piece they are using for the bowl of the toilet? The windows are printed, if you look at the high res picture of the box back you can see the inventory on the top and can see the window glass pieces appearing twice (one for plain one for printed) Love the mirror (and the fact that its an actual mirror that gives a true reflection). Zooming right in on the parts inventory you can see that it looks like its surface treatment of some sort on the part itself rather than a sticker (next to the lamp post piece) The lighter blue color looks to me like the same color as Maggie in The Simpsons. The scissors are attached to the barber shop with a plate 1 x 1 with clip I think (inventory suggests that rather than a brick) I for one LOVE this set and I want one. So many wonderful details like the desk fan made out of a propeller and the ceiling fan made out of snowshoes and the lamp made with the skeleton leg and the hidden wall painting and the pool table and the pool sign and all that nice dark blue.
  2. Unless its not the Ideas proposal but simply a continuation of the theme in the way Minecraft was continued. The Ecto-1 has clearly sold VERY well from what I have seen (much more so than the DeLorien) so they may have simply decided even before GB HQ got to 10k that they were going to continue the line.
  3. Target garden city has an arkham, some ectos and some simpsons houses.
  4. For those in QLD, MYER Garden City has plenty of stock of both the town hall and parisian restaurant. No other modulars that I saw.
  5. Not sure if this is the right thread for it but someone on another forum posted a rumor about a Ghostbusters HQ set: "Also I got told by the manager of our Toyworld that there is a Ghostbusters HQ coming out next year, he saw the pictures of it. So I told him to grab me one whenever he gets it in." Since this is comming from a manager of an independent toy shop (Toyworld stores are independent franchises all trading under the Toyworld banner) who's shop likely sells the Ecto-1 (the chain certainly sells it even if that specific store does not) and who claims to have seen pictures, there may be a kernel of truth to this.
  6. Saw a news story on the TV earlier about the big snow in New York and they showed images of a snowplow with exactly the same curved blade as the new LEGO one. So the LEGO one really IS based on a real world vehicle :)
  7. Aha, its using the skeleton leg. Now I know how they did it I can make my own :)
  8. Given all the cool and interesting parts Monster Fighters gave us (including all the nice parts in the Haunted House) this could be interesting. That said, if it does turn out to be a Scooby Doo license, it might not be as good (especially since it probably wont be as "dark" or "scary" as some of the older Scooby Doo shows seem to be, especially given what Warner is doing with other cartoon properties it owns)
  9. I think the main issue is that Nintendo is unlikely to be willing to license to LEGO even ignoring any questions about whether the right molds exist for Link.
  10. ok, interior pictures: First up we have the trade/timber/building products section. In the back a construction worker is looking at doors and windows as well as gates, fencing, shutters, decorative elements and whirlybirds for the roof. Then we have a cement mixer and various styles of bricks plus a timber section. At the front of the store, a customer is buying some lumber on a trade account. You can also see the roller door allowing people to back their UTEs right into the trade section and load up. Next up is the house section with kitchen sink, oven/stove, dishwasher, recycle bins, washing machine, dryer and toilet. Over here we have a rug, a ladder, some wall art, a mirror and a clock. On the other side you can see some products for keeping your house clean along with the emergency exit at the back of the store. You can also see a staff member. In the middle of the section are various kinds of storage plus a chandelier (patterned off the one in the Grand Emporium) Here is the plumbing and electrical section with taps, piping, electrical conduit and some light bulbs. A plumber is looking at the taps. Here is the key cutting counter with the key cutting machine and a customer getting a new key cut. Here is the paint counter with a painter getting some paint tinted. Here is a section showing more storage plus a vacuum cleaner. Here is the front counter. One customer is buying a coil of rope and a refill for his welder, the other customer is buying a hammer and a project plan. This is the tool shop. It has all the tools you could ever want including jackhammers, paint rollers, sledgehammers, torches, glue guns, plungers, axes, chain, rope, signage, welding masks, welders, hardhats, ear protection, fuel cans, oilcans, hand carts, locks, safes, generators, air compressors and saws. Here is the garden section with barrels, crates, pitchfork, shovel, rake, buckets, decorative fish, scare owls (yes they are a thing, google it :), Webber Kettle BBQ, mulcher, chainsaw, lawnmower, Esky, BBQ, Pizza Oven, Plants, Trees, Flowers, Mushrooms, Wheelbarrow, Street Light and some grass. One customer is looking at a new lawnmower and another customer is buying a tree. At the front of the store is the gas bottle swap station and the sausage sizzle raising money for charity. Overview of the entire store. Here is a truck I made to go with the store. The doors at the back should be blue but they dont exist in that color. This MOC won a Chima Eagle Legend Beast in the MOC contest at the last Brisbricks meeting. Please let me know what you think of it.
  11. If you look at the back picture there is a picture of what looks like a toilet then next to it there is a picture with a desk. Can anyone tell what parts they are using for the lamp on that desk? It looks to me like a bankers lamp which is a style of lamp I have been trying to build for a while now :)
  12. No not the Unikitty tail on top of the light blue part, the other strange looking part you can see above the wall with the "brick" bricks.
  13. What part are they using on the top facade of the detective office? Looks very strange and I cant ID it at all.
  14. My guess is that the scissor piece is the same as introduced in the 2014 Friends sets.
  15. David Jones robina has vw, mixer, town hall opera house and palace cinema. MYER has 20% off but no stock of note. Target still has 20% off and has 5 R2s and a simpsons houae.
  16. Any rumors of a stock shortage are false, at least based on the stock levels I saw at Mr Toys Loganholme earlier today. Noteworthy sets spotted: Simpsons House Winter Village Market Ghostbusters car Power Functions Motor set Train track sets (points set plus straight & flex set) Architecture Tower Of Pisa, Empire State Building, Big Ben, Opera House, Imperial Hotel, Villa Savoye, Eiffel Tower, UN HQ New hobbit sets including the big one with the dragon and the Lake Town set. Hobbit and Creationary board games. Big friends boat Big castle from the last wave of Castle sets VW Van Big Opera House Series 13 figures. Town Hall modular. Oh and they also had no less than 4(!) Horizon Expresses in stock.
  17. Looks like the spies and leakers inside LEGO's chinese factory are still causing trouble for the company... That said, assuming that the hot dog suit is unpainted and the final fig will have paint (probably red for the sausage part and yellow for the squiggle of sauce to represent mustard) I think it looks good and will be the first "consume" guy I end up buying.
  18. The new baseplates are a 2015 set so they are a while off yet.
  19. We know LEGO has an anti-alcohol policy (at least for "modern" sets) so I dont think they would be doing a "bar" as such.
  20. I cant say for sure but I suspect LEGO are going with the versions of characters that are what kids exposed to the DC super heroes through the various cartoons will have seen. That and I bet Warner has the say on which version of a character gets made based on which version they want to promote.
  21. Is this the first time LEGO have printed on a cheese slope instead of stickering it?
  22. Bricklink lists the blue parts in the Market Street as "medium blue" and "dark blue". LEGO calls the same colors "medium blue" and "earth blue"
  23. It seems like the deals going around as of late seem to be deals on specific sets instead of blanket %off deals (Target being the notable exception)
  24. The last use of the Turban for a product from the China factory (where the CMFs are made) was (AFAIK) the Series 6 Genie from a few years back. The question is, could they have re-used that mold for the snake charmer instead of making a new one? Its possible they needed to make a new mold anyway and so they took the opportunity to re-design things.
  25. How does that fit with what LEGO did with the Land Rover set? Any thoughts on why that set didn't make it given the statement that big technic sets sell?
