  1. Cool build. Always love a good hunting scene. Your larger tree is definitely very good. The smaller one, due to its thinner leafing, is a bit less good mostly because the tapering of the trunk thickness is a bit chunky and that last bit of leaf at the top would look better if more of the lower ones were attached at a similar rising angle.
  2. Cool build and fig. Great idea for a character. Does he prefer strange coins as payment?
  3. Really nice landscaping but with a build this size, closer in pics would be good to go with the farther ones.
  4. These are great, inventive builds. I think you are probably one of a few that could possibly pull off landscaping like in the second one. Love that golem especially, though, as it reminds me of Attack on Titan! That said, I don't think I'll ever be a fan of the landscaping technique you used in the second build. I admire the look you pulled off, but I'm not a huge fan of throwing loose pieces together as water or ground or whatever.
  5. Great build. Great rockwork with good use of color. It's hard to get that right, I think.
  6. 2A. Great idea. Expect to see it emulated!
  7. Wow, thanks ME. This is exactly what I look for in a build comment. Some praise, some criticism, some deeper discussion on technique! Thanks a lot for this. So the timbering on the green-painted building has too much depth as is? If I did it again, you suggest making it more or less flush? Or using SNOT to keep the depth thinner? I'll check out that link and see if I can glean some techniques from there too. I'm definitely very much still learning the best way to present a build with and without story. You're very good at it so I appreciate your perspective but I'm not 100% sure what you mean with the photography tips. I'm not sure I trust how I'm visualizing it, if you know what I mean. Again, I'll check out that link though and I'm sure I'll get something out of it for this issue. And again, thanks a lot. One of my favorite comments I've received on EB.
  8. Appreciate that, especially the critique of the shanty roofs. I agree about the studs. In retrospect I may have been able to just use the smooth plates but not sure actually if I have enough or not or if that was even the reasoning when I built it. :P As for the aftermarket parts, well, I'm no purist. :P
  9. I got the big Croc ship, big Wolf truck and big Lion tank (I can't remember the sets' names, sorry) for $100 total. I was well pleased.
  10. There's plenty of plot details available online that should cast light on how much Hydra will be in the movie.
  11. Thanks again everybody! LoR is a lot quieter in terms of comments and criticism than EB is. Glad I posted here.
  12. Hey guys, I put a build for LoR into "Historic" and it hasn't got much love. It's one of the bigger medieval builds I've done so could use some C&C from our members if that's cool. Also, you lot are making me want to run to ToysRUs and pick up some CMFs immediately. I've been holding off due to time constraints but I may have to go down there today. Have you by any chance seen the film Upstream Color? Thoreau features heavily in it and it's an amazing, amazing film.
  13. Thanks guys! I appreciate the love.
  14. Pretty funny haha. Feisty Mitgardian gals. I have all the Legend Beasts. Would be nice to have 2 or more of the Crocodile and Eagle as they have very useful eye pieces.
  15. I agree. The hun is a great fig, but not as norse flavored as the Vikings or other stuff TLG has produced like LotR/Hobbit dwarves and the like. That shield is probably the main feature that feels right.
  16. I think with minidolls, tall dwarves, and all other types of malarkey going on this here GoH is turning into a bit of a free for all. :p That's a great Kali set though!
  17. Are Cat B and C also subject to restriction that they must be designed/executed along the same lines as a TLG official set?
  18. Great work and a grand memorial to your father. I think Kabel, one of the History Moderators and resident Shipwright, needs to see this.
  19. You may be overthinking it a tad. My original sigfig featured in one build and I never used it again. I've done builds in every guild, even as a member of Mitgardia, and I don't have a specific army though I have started to build up my own Mitgardian community (Arnarvhall). While a sigfig is required, you're allowed to play multiple characters in Guilds of Historica and an army is not required at all! That said, it can be super fun to have a cast of characters or your own faction to play around with. I'd just say that there's a lot of wiggle room and you're not as locked in as you may feel you will be. So let the decision be fun instead of stressful! If you do choose Mitgardia, we'll be happy to have you whether you're interested in warlike, army-based builds or more agrarian stuff!
  20. I think you'd be fine joining either Nocturnus or Avalonia. Landscape in Historica is, like the real world, incredibly varied. Though Mitgardia is best known for snow and mountains, it is just like every other guild in that it's best known biome isn't the only one it contains within its massive territory. There's also that though Nocturnus is famous for its darker denizens, and power seems to be in the hands of really evil people a lot of the time, there are plenty of other types and tribes too!
  21. That FP and temple design really stand out. Beautiful desert too, though I think the cactus should be rethought.
  22. Good work here. I'd say for future that a little more in the landscaping could go a long way on a build like this, where the eye is following up the structure.
