  1. Very cool shelter and landscaping, but the interior is just amazing!
  2. That laser-saw device is amazing. What a great use for that trans-blue piece.
  3. Awesome landscaping and mix of colors, as others have said. H3 has to be one of my favorite AG characters now too, haha!
  4. Great ship. Looks sleek and yeah, quite a bit like a Blackbird!
  5. Awesome stuff here. The Madame Curie is a very cool ship/platform. I like how much you got in at such a good size.
  6. Great beacon, Kabel. I like the classic Lego look of the tower and those statues on the crenellations are a nice touch.
  7. That landscape is terrific and unique. Not sure I've seen one quite like that before.
  8. Amazing build. Such a huge beacon!
  9. Awesome truck. You should keep it assembled so you can put it in an environment at some point. The colors would contrast nicely with landscape.
  10. Yeah. I wrestled with doing a whole new build, but I liked the idea of building that tower only to have to burn it down for the common good. Thanks Tomsche! Thanks. Oh probably! Thanks. You can see how this build developed by looking at my Age of Mitgardia Tower phases. Those told the story of a tower ruin getting discovered and then used to establish a watchtower, only for dwarves and elves to get involved. Then Alva had to decide between continuing the chain of beacons to the south, or keeping what she had built. She chose the common good.
  11. All across the North, fires are lit to warn the people and rouse their anger at the invasion of ice, cold, and the monstrous reavers that have come from the Frozen Beyond. Long has fire been the best ally against the winter, and as the beacons were lit in Mitgardia, that allegiance became more than symbolic. Alva Tyrnsdottir accomplished much on the ruined tower at the edge of her clan's territory. She united elves and dwarves and her own men in common purpose to build something that would one day protect them all. Unfortunately, today was that day and as she saw the nearest beacon-fire light up the night skies of the east, she knew what she would have to do. The people of Arnarvhall were remote, cut off by the forest and fearful of the consequences that a traditional beacon might wreak on such a densely wooded region. So Alva ordered her men to gather their things, to strike the camp they'd established around the tower, and to prepare water in case the improvised beacon-fire got out of control. As she watched it burn, her heart was heavy. But she remembered her father's words. He had said to her that sacrifice was sometimes the only way forward. That a warrior might give up an inch only to take a mile on some other day. She spoke these words aloud to her men as they too looked on the burning tower with uncertainty. BONUS SHOT:
  12. Thanks everyone!
  13. Yeah. I'm certain that the Metal Gear series was influenced by Appleseed and vice versa. Japanese robot and mecha designs are always the best and often translate super well to Lego. Thanks Kai! I think I brick-linked the dark red hood. I use one of Star Lord's torsos from the Guardians of the Galaxy Lego for Koro. Thanks GG! Thanks. Total experiment! Haha yeah probably. I look back on it now and then but often when I'm sitting down to build, I can't make it look like I want and end up either doing a mishmash of techniques or just rushing it. :( Thanks. Anime-style scenes and dramatic action shots are a big influence on me for Kawashita. Koro himself feels like an anime character and is an excuse for me to express my anime/cyberpunk sensibilities in Lego form! Haha thanks Narbilu! Not everybody would try to take down a gundrone with a sword.
  14. Thanks Tomsche. Of all the advanced Lego stuff I have trouble with, rockwork has to be the worst. I keep trying new things with different builds because I can't wrap my head around the way the hardcore pros (like MassEditor or Soccerkid, for two examples) do it. SK's Flickr tutorial on his new technic process is just mind-boggling to me. Maybe I'm not patient enough. I usually try to pound out builds about this size in a day or two.
  15. Welcome to Kawashita. Great fig, Dr. Xing!
  16. Dust Demon Base (Alleged) Lesser Direstan - 3185 Koro's infiltration of the base on Greater Direstan yielded plenty of actionable intel, and he was told that it was instrumental in foiling the interference of this mysterious "Dust Demon" force. However, there's no rest for the wicked and honor doesn't grow on trees. Not in Andromeda, anyway. So Koro barely had time to sneak back out of the base before he was tasked to pursue the Dust Demons to a secondary base on Lesser Direstan. Hopefully this would bring him closer to their leader, of whom all is known is his "Commodore" callsign. Still, it seemed easy enough to sneak into a second base. Why not? Well, it was a trap. That's why not. Just as Koro cleared a tunnel and emerged out onto a grassy plateau, he realized that he'd been lured here to this very spot... "Uh oh..." ...and awaiting him was a camouflaged gundrone. An extremely dangerous adversary. His pistol wouldn't do him any good against its armor, so Koro decided that the only school was the old school. BUILDER'S NOTES: You'll probably spot the BURPs used here. I've never experimented with BURPs in a MOC before and I actually think this turned out good. The mech is based off the Desert Runner drones from Appleseed Alpha, a really pretty but kind of shallow CG anime adaptation that came out last year. There's a bunch more pics of different angles for the build on Flickr. Thanks for looking!
  17. The whole world looked white, like a sign of things to come. As cold steel rose up to meet colder ice, he remembered his footsteps stretching behind him. The green punctured the white, like a sign of things to come.
  18. If you guys don't have the tree-like pieces in white, a good alternative is 1x1 blocks in white, along with 1x1, 2, or 3 slopes (inverted and otherwise). You can make similar tree-shapes pretty easily and just do something else for leaves.
  19. I think having the grass be a contrasting color would maybe be better. As is, it looks like those red vines from War oft he Worlds have taken over the planet haha. I definitely think the creative parts use is a great idea, though.
  20. Those backpacks are nice, Goliath. I think I'll use that technique in the future if you don't mind. I get what you're going for and I'll be sure to do your idea justice with a heavy trooper with a plasma pack connected to his gun! Actually, I meant to tell you before that I like the look of Wilhelm in general. Very imposing guy.
  21. Awesome idea. Very funny!
  22. Great vehicle and I dig the contrast between Narbilu and the monster. I would maybe dial the contrast down in the post-processing though. ;)
  23. Awesome vehicle. I like the exposed tubes a lot. Gives it a rough and tumble feel.
  24. Great landscape and excellent vehicle, SK. I have to say though that those are some of my favorite Lego trees that I've ever seen!
  25. I love that mech's feet. Good use of photoshop for the communications array, too. I'm guessing it's shopped anyway!
