  1. They're great looking MOCs, every little detail is brilliant. Can't wait to see more
  2. I use LDD for almost all of my creations but there are a few WIPs lying around that rely on flex tube. I used to draw MOCs all the time before starting on them, now I just draw the more complex ones to help with planning.
  3. I'm guessing a weigh station? NPU on the sideways door for a window, fits in perfectly
  4. Thanks CityBuilder and Wookie. Yeah, the tiles are "custom", I'll have to replace them with a purist road once I've organised my place a bit better.
  5. Thanks Lightningtiger, I have to tweak the bull bar a bit as its connection to the chassis is a little bit weak, it still works fine for photos though.
  6. Thanks Cgarison and Behemoth. I'm not really a fan of decals but I might try and brick-build a logo on the trailers at some stage.
  7. I finally made some trailers to go with the truck MOC after a busy weekend of parting out. I went with a couple of simple rigid trailers to get rid of the white wall panels from all of the old city sets I had, plus it'd be easy to add refrigeration units if I wanted. I'll get round to building a few different types of trailers in due time, and as usual let me know what you think.
  8. Those are some great looking cars that you have there, the fastback would have to be my favorite of the lot.
  9. Nice details all around. Even though a minifig can't fit inside, it'd still look great in a used car lot or parked on the streets. Looking forward to seeing more Labaznik.
  10. Thanks CityBuilder. I think the Mini Cooper was intended to seat a minifig, but then it wouldn't fit with the large scale/micro scale they started with the Combi. At least it only takes a couple of basic parts to change it though.
  11. Hi all, after building the Mini Cooper polybag last night I had to modify it to fit a minifig. The end result is only slightly different on the exterior to allow for the minifigs legs and they can't have headwear on, but that's fair enough with such a small model. The .LXF is up on my brickshelf account for anyone who's interested.
  12. I'd buy lighting kits for MOCs in an instant! I think I'd prefer being able to program my own light sequences for the vehicles though, as each one has a slightly different assortment of lights. I'm not fussed by turning them on at the vehicle, but being able to individually control groups of lights like head/tail lights or sirens with a remote would be great. As for street lighting, lamp posts and external building lights could be connected so they all come on at the same time. Having working traffic lights that run in sequence would be pretty cool too.
  13. Hi all, after 9 years of service it was about time I upgraded my fleet of 7236 based police cars to a more modern standard. My old mods of the set were based on the Holden Commodore so it was only natural that the new cars followed the trend. All in all, it took about 15 minutes to come up with the new body and 2 hours to try and connect the new front end, but once the base model was done the station wagon was a breeze. I'll use my 3x 7236's for the majority of parts in the new version and the stickers from the set will stay in place for the markings. This version will be getting the high profile lightbars and an overall white paint job to keep in line with high visibility policing around city streets. The two highway patrol cars will be scratch-built (the red ones almost done already) and are getting low profile LED lightbars and markings. I'm only planning on making one undercover unit for now, I'm just hoping LEGO releases the fender in green at some stage. I don't think the 1x6 inverted slopes are available in green either but I can build in a compromise there easily enough. I've uploaded the .LXF for the sedan and wagon to brickshelf for anyone who's interested, it's for the civi version but it's easy enough to modify them to suit any needs. Keep an eye out here as I may jump the fence temporarily to build a Ford Falcon at some point and let me know what you think.
  14. Thanks everyone. Jonwil, I did base this off my local Caltex Woolies which has a full shop, but I had to make sacrifices to keep it compressed to a single baseplate.
  15. Hi all, for a while I had a baseplate with a few tiles slapped on it sitting next to my row of modulars with the intention of it one day becoming a service station. Over the weekend I sat down one arvo to make a bit of progress on it and in no time the basic building and walls were made. While I was on a roll I kept going and threw in whatever I felt was necessary for a typical servo and this is what I've come up with so far: The two pumps are quick mods of the one from the 3180 tank truck set, and it's nice to have a more permanent home for them now. The attendant's all smiles since he's nice and safe behind the top notch security bars For the late night customers there's a night pay window, there's also the usual junk chucked around the side. "Can you grab some ice on your way, oh, and some firewood, we're running pretty low." A basic interior does the trick since I leave the roof on the majority of the time anyway. Each lane allows for a 7-wide, but realistically, anything more than 4-wide is going to take up a lot of the available real estate. I'll be periodically updating this when I get more ideas but for now I'm happy with it (it sure beats the empty lot that it started out as ). Let me know what you think and feel free to leave any questions or constructive criticisms.
  16. The paddy wagon received an update this weekend, I managed to scrounge up a handlebar part to make the bull bar. A couple of other minor parts were changed so I'm calling this one done now.
  17. Thanks Cgarison and Sithewok. I'm trying out some more main characters from The LEGO Movie now so they should be up soon, I'll have to do a Mini Cooper one for when the set arrives too.
  18. Thanks BrickDafki. I'm divided between Benny and May the Fourth myself, something about the ships flying out of the billboards.
  19. For this mod the credit goes to Johan the Yellowhead for planting the seed in my head to give Benny his own billboard, Billboard, BILLBOARD! The other credit goes to L@go for his microscale spaceship which I 'borrowed' and modded to attach my rendition of the classic space logo.
  20. My Doctor says that I have a malformed public-duty gland and a natural deficiency in moral fibre and that I am therefore excused from saving universes

  21. Thanks Johan the Yellowhead and Haddock. I tried to get a white banana to be his smile as he's showing his teeth in the photo but getting a clip in place to hold it was too bulky. I'll try the black part when I get around to making this Johan, I'll dig through my parts bins to try and find something to better resemble a mouth too. As for making Benny, my selection of blue parts is pretty poor so I know I can't build that one with what I have.
  22. After a bit of time away from the GE mods, here's my next billboard to celebrate the 'everything is awesome' edition of The LEGO Movie: Emmet had been pleading with me to make this ever since I bought it, and in between watching the movie over and over again this is what I came up with. I'm not too happy with his smile, but trying to get other solutions in there was a bit tricky. Update: You know when you notice something that you've completely overlooked beforehand, well that happened with the white croissants on the PR
  23. Great job on all of the little details inside, those micro sets are fantastic.
  24. That's a great looking car and truck you've got there, I'm particularly impressed with how snug the fit is for the car in the trailer. Any chance more Le Mans racers might make an appearance?
  25. Hi Paul, here's my point of view: Yes, I do break down MOCs to reuse the pieces. It depends, I have a couple that have received only minor updates over several years and quite a few that I grow tired of within the week. If I absolutely have to build something else and the parts are already in a MOC that I am a bit tired of, it's coming apart but a lot of my military MOCs will have a use in the future, so I keep them built. City vehicles don't tend to last as long because they use a lot of coloured parts, which I don't have too many of. Lastly, and most importantly, before I do break down any of my MOCs I ensure I have them built in LDD so that I can rebuild/update them in the future.
