i like the transition between wheels on the ship's engine, the dock has a cool layout, too. bigger pictures and a small amount of tweaking to the contrasts of the pictures would be nice. the "curves" tool on GIMP works wonders.

great micro city, and the lab looks like it could be a section of one of Big Sal's best mocs, excellent work.

The Observer: for everything except what's right in front of you ;) very sleek, the curves and fins complement each other extremely well

for cat B, does the build have to be on the same planet as the previous creation? for example, if I rebuild a MANTIS creation that was on B06, could I move it to C09 instead?

150 to Kai please

the wording here is confusing, will my DP and resources go to Kawashita or MANTIS? sounds like an interesting challenge

Thank you everybody. I'll keep an eye out for another thruster solution. @thehornedrat - definitely not swooshible. the brick-built wings are a bit heavy, especially with the big guns which also cause a little drooping. the mechanism I used to open and close is also a bit fragile and it requires extra bricks to be added to stay open at the correct angles. It did however hold up very well this weekend at BrickUniverse Dallas and was approved by Lord Vader himself... Location: Arium Minor - F09 Tags: Piracy, Alien The Zoid invasion of Arium Minor came suddenly and brutally. The orbital defensive grid remained silent while Zoid teams swarmed the colonies. Octan pilots fought to get to their ships but many were killed or captured. Nobody could tell where the Zoids came from, but many would soon find out where they were going. The alien fleet finally moved into orbit once the ground was secured. Few ships Octan remained to stop them. [A - F09] Zoid Harvest - Full by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr C&C welcome.

But, I'd love to hear what y'all think and your thoughts on how I can make this better. Mainly, I'm struggling with the weight and sturdiness of the wings. I'm also not happy with the front section's slope or the gaps in the front of the engine. Regardless, I hope y'all like it and kudos to thehornedrat for beating me to the punch

307 to Kai, please

That's really funny. I thought it was so strange that you didn't mention the alligator design and figured that had to be what you were going for; head, tail, even red eyes in the front. Maybe your subconscious is messing with you

Nice room. NPU on the round lbg columns. The red stripes look great and there are some nice subtle details. I do think you missed an opportunity to do a brick built number in one of those white sections of walls. That would have made the room look a little bit more interesting and it would've been good practice and a good way to add points. The speeder is nice but I think the shaping is a little strange; I get that it's an alligator, but since that wasn't mentioned in your story, I'm wondering why you limited yourself to that design. The section between the wheels/thrusters seems to me the ideal place to enter/exit, so putting the engine right there seems off to me. Pombe's cameo is funny.

This is where my problem is. I'm guessing both sides will have 8-12 builders. If either have to split into multiple teams, we're talking about a boarding party of 2-6. That does not make sense. What is the problem with filling the ranks with background stormtroopers, who will, of course, be fighting Rebels, defending/blocking corridors, etc.? The background stormies wouldn't have to be singled out, but they should be around. Look through the older MOCs; even the commando missions have some kind of background NPC in the scene. The other thing is, everybody is doing their own MOC and will likely be in different areas of the ship. If there are no NPCs in the background, we'll either have to do some kind of time lapse where everybody stays together throughout (requiring most of the builders to have every sigfig), or send everybody out in teams of 1-2 to attack an unknown enemy force. Again, that doesn't make sense. I don't see how having background stormtroopers inhibits or cheats the coordination aspects of this Episode. But if y'all have defined the rules in this way, I'll just accept that and build accordingly. I hope you will reconsider your definition of an important/crucial role so we can use NPCs as we have in the past
-
that's the problem, what does "crucial roles"/"important task" mean? wouldn't an invasion squad be fulfilling a crucial role? i'm really not trying to beat a dead horse, but i just don't get y'all's definitions. and we don't have enough real people in SoNE to fill a 50x50 MOC or to make a convincing detachment of imperial troops
-
I'm not sure I understand the distinction between your examples. Is it that we just can't identify or single out specific non-sigfigs? But, we could have a dozen ground troopers lead an attack with two dozen generic stormtroopers, correct?

neat design. I really like the cockpit and how you connected it

those floors look great and there's a lot of cool details throughout. the vegetation outside the window and rafters are great touches that add a lot to the scene.

all of those grilled bricks together adds a nice effect and really makes those pipes pop.

that hot dog cart is awesome. the construction crew is a nice touch and that statue is very cool.

beautiful build as always. love the Octapedia and phone call with Mom (that poor, poor woman)

very cool platform and awesome ship, it looks very sky-fi. I think some photo editing would go a really long way, especially getting rid of the supports and adding a little more contrast. the base is really cool too, great vegetation and concept

nice smooth hummer and really cool robot. any chance these aliens are related to the Emboians of Freegate?
