Wow. Couldn't have said it better myself. These subthemes exist in the same vein together, so why not talk about them together? Like you said, it could bring about new fans. While I love Marvel a lot more than DC, I can say that I have bought some DC solely to compliment my Marvel display.

This set looks jam packed with fun, so much that I am actually considering getting it (I was skeptical when the first images came up online). The Captain America minifigure is a step up from the 2012 film design, in my opinion, and accurately depicts his appearance in both the comics and the Avengers Assemble TV series. However, the motorcycle is a downgrade from the 2012 set. Red Skull is pretty cool, but I don't love the Hydra Soldier. The tank is all sorts of win, from the olive bricks to the huge wheels. Nice review!

I'm looking for an awesome D2C set, as, in all honesty, I have never purchased any before. Even though it is a bit early, I'm already thinking about what to ask for for my birthday in September. I have a choice between MetalBeard's Sea Cow or The Simpsons House, and I can only get one of the two. Both are equally impressive and detailed sets, but I was wondering if anyone had a preference for which one I should ask for? Thanks for the help.

That is indeed beautiful. Someone could easily mistake it for a real set if they stumbled upon an image of this MOC online. I love the tan, and the attention to detail. Amazing model.

Apparently a LEGO themed issue of the popular magazine MAD is on sale now. I remember vaguely hearing about it earlier this month. http://www.madmagazine.com/issues/mad-526 Do any of you have any more info on it? What do you think of this? If you happen to own it, please tell us what is shown.

I know I'm going to be reproached for this, but I happen to love BURPs and LURPs. If used correctly, they can add a lot to a MOC. Sometimes, I like to add little pieces onto the studs on them to achieve a detailed, more realistic effect. On the subject of this model: very well done! You obviously had a lot of free time on your hands to build a bunch of these. Perhaps the GB-BURPs and GB-LURPs could be used for a mining diorama of some sort? Great work.

Since I only recently signed up for this forum yesterday, I'm going to give my opinion of Ninjago down below. This has always been my favorite theme. I started collecting it regularly when the Serpentine 2012 sets released. The skeleton sets didn't really do it for me, even thought I did have a few. I love the zany storyline, and the characters. The sets inspired my nickname, Green Ninja, because my personality has always been somewhat like Lloyd. The cartoon series has also got to be one of my favorites shows ever! Great script, nice animation, and the score is awesome. It has definitely left a legacy for LEGO, from set designs, to minifigures, to its extended media that paved the way for Chima and Mixels. Getting a bit more back on topic, I love this year's sets. I knew the theme wouldn't be gone for good after disappearing in 2013. I received the Nindroid MechDragon, OverBorg Attack, and Hover Hunter for Christmas. I love that we finally get the ninja's hairstyles, and the design of the dragon is really appreciated by me. For summer sets, I definitely will pick up the X-1 Ninja Charger, for Kai and the car. Even though I do very much like Battle for New Ninjago City, I simply don't have the money for it at the time. However, that Overlord minifigure is all kinds of win! Who would like to see a D2C Borg Industries? I know I would!

I am really worried about this move. Having the biggest toy company in the world buy the second biggest contruction toy after LEGO could seriously hurt sales, especially if they acquire some huge licenses. I hope LEGO realizes this and steps it up a bit. Not that they really need to! You know what's coming next... Disney buying LEGO. Make it happen!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
TheBrickPal replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Crap, those turtles have got to be the ugliest minifigures I have ever seen, and I haven't even seen them close up! The set designs are okay, though. I think I'll pass on these. -
Quality of service at LEGO stores.
TheBrickPal replied to Gatthekid's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My local LEGO Store in Natick, MA is always a great place to be. There is always very helpful staff there. They've helped me feel for Collectible Minifigures, answered my questions, and more. Amazing experience every time I go, however the store is always full. Nobody can ever get too tired of LEGO! -
Classic Space will forever be a huge part of LEGO's history. Not only was it the first big innovation in terms of new pieces and building techniques, but it also was one of LEGO's most successful lines of sets. A lot of AFOLs will recall owning the many minifigures and sets from the 1980's theme (and some still do). It definitely left a legacy. Now, current LEGO fans and older fans alike are getting a taste of Classic Space with The LEGO Movie, the most recent blockbuster hit. Not only does Benny appear, giving many adult fans some nostalgia (and showing the infamous cracked helmet), but scenes do show a few other Classic Space nods, such as Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP, which utilizes some of the designs seen in old Classic Space sets. The set of the ship itself will arrive in stores this summer. The upcoming CUUSOO Exo Suit even has some Classic Space inspiration. Does this hint a possible Classic Space reboot? Maybe not, but we can dream. As LEGO releases a new space theme every year or so, this would seem ideal. We've already see a lot of humans vs aliens (from Mars Mission to Galaxy Squad), so you could say that it is time for a change. We've been shown that LEGO is not afraid to bring back themes from years back in a brand new way, for example Space Police III (2009). Who says Classic Space couldn't return? Astronaut minifigs could lead a peaceful life on the moon once again, without any alien buggoids or Martians to harm them. Of course, it would have to be more modern to please this generation, but that would be part of the fun! Benny could even make a cameo in one set if he wanted to. We could have more lunar bases, a brand new monorail transport system, and some small and large ships based on designs from the 80's! I want your opinion. What would you like to see if LEGO ever decided to revive Classic Space? Do you think it would ever happen?

Great work, lightningtiger! Love the use of City pieces. However, if I had to pick a favorite part, it would be the Octan gas station. You designed that so well that it really looks like a real gas station. Keep on building!

Lego A/S now looking for a sustainable replacement for ABS
TheBrickPal replied to Phoxtane's topic in General LEGO Discussion
As long as it keeps the same quality it has currently, and doesn't make me think any different about LEGO, I'm happy. It's for the best, too; this is definitely going to have a positive effect on the environment by ceasing to use this type of plastic. -
The firehouse is beautiful. Great job Brent! I am happy to see your design of the Ecto-1 become an official LEGO set, and I will sure be getting it once it is released. Your work is truly appreciated.

I hope I'm not the only one disappointed in the many Spider-Man sets we are getting. Not only is the Marvel subtheme of Super Heroes going with the same character over and over, but some of these don't even make sense. Spider Copter? Spider Trike? Can't he just sling webs? Of course, this is only my opinion, but I'd really like more variety than just Avengers and Spider-Man. X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy are a good start. Fantastic Four, anyone?

Legends of Chima Online is now available to play on iOS devices. I just thought I'd mention that.

I already love it! I'm one of those odd people that actually likes McDonald's, so just looking at this topic makes me hungry. You have done a great job on the roof; I cannot wait to see the end result!

Asking for this for my birthday in September. This is exactly what the doctor ordered. Do you think you can do a comparison picture between this and a POTC ship (if you have any)? That would be great!

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
TheBrickPal replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Just a little chat I overheard between a Brick Specialist and customer whilst at the LEGO Store last Friday. "I'm looking for Uni-Kitty! Do you have her?" *feels CMF packets* "I don't think you'll find her in those." That person sounded so desperate for a Uni-Kitty figure that their last resort was the blind bags, even though it clearly advertises that she is not included in the series. At that time, the Cloud Cuckoo Palace was out of stock. Luckily, I got mine in December!- 2,626 replies

[MOC] LEGO THE MOVIE - Abraham Lincoln
TheBrickPal replied to aditayam's topic in Special LEGO Themes
"A house divided against itself... would be better than this!" Wonderful. It captures the look of the chair from the movie almost perfectly. -
Friends is taking a great direction this year, to be honest. I've never really wanted to buy a set until now. Mia's Lemonade Stand fulfills my wish for an actual lemonade stand set (I know, weird wish), and I may just have to get that penguin. In the summer things are looking great, as well. That Charlotte girl who complained in that letter to LEGO a month or so ago can't argue anymore. It seems like the girls are going on some big adventures now! It's obvious that this theme won't be slowing down anytime soon.

All of you have very good points. Unfortunately, my budget simply cannot afford any of these Princess sets. I already am collecting Ninjago, The LEGO Movie, and Mixels this year, with plans for Chima and Ultra Agents. I guess this will just have to wait. Haha! I'd love to see what that is like.

Great build! I think Lord Business riding the Kragle like a plane instead of using the Kraglizer in the film would have been even more hilarious, as if that were even possible. I especially love the water effect, the little Cloud Cuckoo Land themed area, and the Micro Managers. Very well done MOC.
