  1. Holy smokes, you nailed the design!
  2. That's nicely done. Wish I had room to modify mine.
  3. mdoupe, The new features are really nice, especially the edit and add functions and the export to a Bricklink wanted list. Really well done!
  4. Thanks, TWO2SEVEN! Thanks, Modelmaker. There's always more parts!!!
  5. Just measured the volumes of the two cups: Large: 950 ml Small: 500 ml It's a bit deceiving, isn't it? Edit: I should have stated that the volume measured does not include the lids.
  6. Bricklink.com Or, if you have a local LEGO store, the pick-a-brick wall is great (and a lot cheaper) if they have what you want.
  7. Besides a lot of natural, indirect light and a plain background, your next biggest friend is a tripod to hold the camera steady during the longer, indoor shutter speeds.
  8. Love this! Supported on Ideas.
  9. That's quite a weapon! I had to go check my set as I have yet to build the crane. My operator is not handicapped.
  10. Thanks, Bricks! Yeah, until we get an airport in Lego Town, the roof-top pizza sign doesn't make much sense, does it? I edited my first post to add a pic of what we started with before each mod you you can see better what we did. I should have done this before making the OP.
  11. Thanks Citibuilder! I agree about the open sided buildings. We really don't need the play factor that they offer and it's easy enough to add modular style removable floors and roofs. Have a good one!
  12. Awww... Thanks for the quick answer.
  13. Do we have the ability to choose different skins? I frequent another forum which is based on this same software and we can choose from a half-dozen different color schemes. This one is too bright for my liking. I've looked around and do not see any options to change it. Thanks PS. Great site, regardless!
  14. mdoupe, Well done! The 0.95.2 version works great. This is the first time I had three different lists import without issues. Normally I have a few pieces with colors unassigned that I have to edit, or price guides that show as empty and I have to set the status to Exclude so it will continue processing. Seems faster, too! I'll let you know if I have any issues. Thanks again for all your work on this! Jim
  15. Very slick build, Brickrally. There's a lot of really nice details and I especially like the folding glass doors from the kitchen to the patio.
  16. Thanks and I'll pass that along to Leslie! That's kinda funny. I have to say that I never noticed that. That's the way they came in the set. I'll have to remove them unless I want to pretend that the Bike Shop is selling jackets with sewn in flesh-colored gloves.
  17. Nice! That's a very busy city you have there. I like it!!!
  18. I just pre-ordered this off the US Amazon site. It looks like a good book for us MOC/MOD beginners.
  19. Thanks Blakstone. Yeah, I guess I should have posted some "before" photos before the mods. It would have made it easier to see what we did. My goof. Thank you. I need a couple of single wide slopes to finish the roofline on the bike shop, but other than that, they're waiting for us to put a town square together that we like so they have a home.
  20. Thanks, Lightningtiger!
  21. We thought that the half-baked buildings (City Pizza and the Bike Shop) that come in the Town Square set (60026) needed a little work before finding them a place in our LEGO town which is in progress. My wife wanted to do the pizza shop, so I decided to tackle the bike shop. These are our first modded buildings and we had fun doing it. First, here's a "before" shot of City Pizza from Brickset.com: Leslie expanded the building and added a rooftop sign: A walk up order window: Lots of windows and a rear entrance/exit: An expanded kitchen: An extra table with chairs and she relocated the cash register to work at the walk-up window: and finally added a small bathroom to meet code: Now, everybody's happy!! Here's a "before" shot of the Bike Shop from Brickset.com: The Bike Shop needed to be expanded, too to hold more bikes and both motorcycles: So, I added little tiled patio with some flowers, a roof-top air conditioner, lots of windows and a taller sign: Lots more windows and a rear exit around the back: Added some stairs to the second floor and some more display items: Another view of the second floor: Now we have room for a motorcycle and a bike on the street level. The Bike Shop is an equal opportunity employer with one of the Friend's girls attending the register: We now have a fully functional retail bike shop (maintenance is done off-site ;-) The dude that came with the shop looked like more of an HVAC guy, so... Hope you folks enjoy the pics. Any comments, criticisms and/or suggestions are all welcome.
  22. Nice to see someone finally figured out a way to deal with the stairs and balconies on a double build. Well done!
  23. Really a cool build! How is that roof section supported? All from the rear?
  24. Yes, it seems that most of the BrickLInk stores that I've checked all have very reasonable shipping policies/costs. I'm looking forward to placing a 4200 piece order soon.
