  1. Good to know. I'll just be starting to use BrinkLink for purchases very soon.
  2. I just ran Brickficiency for the first time (v0.94) and had great results. I was searching for 74 different items with a total piece count of about 4400. I let it run a 1,2,3-store solution and it came up with 10 combinations, the best which was $513 from 3 vendors. It found no single store or two store solutions. I then ran a 4 store solution and let it run all night. It was still running this morning after 1.3 billion combinations checked. I stopped the calculation and the report returned 10 solutions under $490 with the best at $483. I would have to check for shipping charges to make a final decision, but this software works nicely. I'm impressed.
  3. Thanks for the explanation. I'll look up the part numbers of the grooved tiles and try it that way.
  4. No, I'm on my home computer with all programs operating from a C: drive.
  5. When I do that, I get a popup that says that the database is xxxxxxx days old and then I click update. The popup disappears and there is no indication that anything is happening. How long should it take on a medium fast cable network to download the database? After 5 minutes, nothing. My options to import a wanted list or a LDD file are grayed out as is the option to reload the database.
  6. Hi again, The login on the test file worked but I got this: Logging In... 7. I'm curious as to why such common parts like 1x2 tiles (design ID 3069) in all the colors I search for are listed as "Undetermined Type" and thus won't work in Wanted Lists when shopping? I found this to be true on all of the 1x2, 2x2 and 2x4 tiles that I added to my list. Does anyone have any comments, suggestions or solutions to this issue? Thanks!
  8. Hi and thanks for getting back. No, I have only 74 items found, many of which, however, are in requested lots of 30-100.
  9. I just downloaded the latest version (v0.95) off the Brickficiency site and I can't get past the login for importing a list from Bricklink. I am using the proper login and password, but the information window just says "logging in...". Waiting for 5 minutes or more and nothing changes. Clicking the Next button and "Logging In..." disappears from the information window. Clicking again on the Next button does nothing and the Login window stays until I close it. Tried it both while logged in to BrickLink and while logged out. I'm on a Win 7 64-bit machine. Any ideas?
  10. I think you're right. Thanks. I'll look into Brickficiency. Thanks for the link.
  11. OK, so I've figured out a way to enter a wishlist and I have for example, 30 lots. I see by clicking on the "Shops" tab, it will provide me with a lit of shops which have some or all of the lots that I need. So far, so good, but the best prices on each lot are spread all over the list of shops. Now, is there any way I can sort so that I can get a list of shops with the best prices on the lots I'm looking for, or do I just have to search through the list of shops provided and see who has the best price on each lot? For example, the search might kick out a list of 5 shops that between them, have all my lots at the best prices. It seems like this could be automated, but I can't figure out how to do it. Thanks, Jim
  12. Recently, the last four or five orders, I haven't received shipping notices from LEGO.com, although I get the order confirmations pretty quickly so I know they have my correct email address. I have to go online to My Orders and get tracking info there. The last time an item was backordered (Grand Emporium) a few weeks ago, I never knew it had shipped until it turned up. Not sure what's going on. I used to get "shipped" notices all the time.
  13. In my experience, usually a lot sooner.
  14. Love it. I agree that the roof is very cool!
  15. I've always ordered missing parts online (4 times) and have always received them in a few weeks. I've never ordered missing parts via a phone call with a customer service rep. One time there was a missing set of train track in an order and a quick phone call resolved that easy as pie. Had the missing track in about 4 days. Now, that said, all of my missing piece orders were from sets that I had purchased thru lego.com, so they knew that I had bought them. No customer service issues here. Sorry that some of you are having issues, but there may be a reason for it. Also, customer service people sometimes drop the ball or have a bad day.
  16. Would be nicer if the drawers were clear, and what do you do with smaller items that you have a few of. Maybe I should look at the site as they may have different sizes. Edit: They do come in clear, but only one size.
  17. Wow, very clever. Well done! I'd buy one.
  18. We just finished building the Fire Brigade and it was a lot of fun. There are a lot of very interesting building techniques in this one. Highly recommended!
  19. That was fun and interesting! Thanks for sharing.
  20. Well that's interesting. I went online yesterday at shop.lego.us for a GE for a Christmas gift for our niece after reading Off the wall's recent post about the availability and shipping on the 31st. I got the confirmation on the order and an email saying that it was backordered and would ship on July 31st. All was as expected. Today, I got a ship notice! Now, the shop.lego.us site says that they are sold out again. Heaven only knows what goes on sometimes at the LEGO warehouse. My niece will be happy in a few months!
