Vaporium (Legoworld Utrecht 2016 Collab)
sander1992 replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Fortunately I had an entire week to admire your builds. It was a very nice setup with different islands and yet the same "theme". The builds were stunning and inspiring. I got some ideas for my next MOC. The idea of hiding receivers in the rocks and the remotes on the fences is very nice. -
That looks massive and good. I do not mind the use of multiple colors in the interior. I think that white makes it a bit lighter and make the interior more visible.

Large Harry Potter Layout Lego World the Netherlands
sander1992 replied to sander1992's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thank you. My brother experimented a bit with the trees. He was happy with the result. It was a lot of work to make the castle and to make it "logical". I wanted to make the office of Dumbledore a bit different, but did not have the parts for it. Thank you. I remember the chat. We look closely to the changes in the landscape when we were building. The changes must be smoothly. I think the change is a bit abrupt. I am glad that you like our layout.- 8 replies

Hi everyone, We (me and my brother) have been busy for the last 5 months. We created a landscape with scenes and locations of the Harry Potter series. The landscape is 8 meter long and 1.25 meters deep. The landscape contains the Hogwarts Castle, the Burrow, London with Diagon Alley, Private Drive and Hogsmeade. The Private Drive, London and train station are built by my brother. I have built the Hogwarts Castle, Quiddith field, the Whomping Willow and Hogsmeade. The Castle was already shown at another event and was also posted on Eurobricks. Hogwarts Castle The Whomping Willow can move three branches and is powered by PF. At the Whomping Willow is scene from Prisoner of Azkaban, where Lupin turns into a werewolf. Very close to the Whomping Willow is Hogsmeade and a platform. More towards London, there is graveyard with the duel between Harry Potter and Voldemort with the presence of the Death Eaters. The Burrow is close to the graveyard. London is one street with the Diagon Alley behind it. There is a small alley between the two. At the street there is a train station with a parking lot. In the Diagon Alley there are several shops and the Gringotts Wizarding Bank. Close to the Diagon Alley is the Private Drive with three houses and a playground. At the backside of the castle, there is a boathouse. The confrontation with the Hungarian Horntale is behind the greenhouses. The Quiddith field and the Forbidden Forest are at the other side of the castle. On the Quiddith field there is a match between Slytherin and Gryffindor. In the Dark Forest there are several Threstrals and Aragog are present. In the corner of the forest, there is a confrontation between Harry Potter and Voldemort as a reference to the last part. Here is a picture of an overview of the backside of Hogwarts. Here is a picture of the Hogwarts Express and the Burrow. Here is an picture of London. Here is a picture of an overview of the countryside. In the front is the Whomping Willow. At the left is Hogsmeade and in the back is the London. More pictures you can find in my Flickr album World of Harry Potter Questions and feedback are welcome. Sander

Hi everyone, The last months I have been busy. For the next Legoworld in the Netherlands we (me and my brother) want to show a large landscape with various locations and scenes of the Harry Potter series. I have created a castle a little bit based on books and/or films, but this is my version of the Hogwarts castle. In the castle there are various rooms and classrooms. The stairs in the staircase can move and are powered by Power Functions. Here is an overview of the castle. Here is a picture of the entrance and the big hall. Underneath the entrance are the living rooms of Slytherin and under the big hall is the magic potions classroom. Here is a picture of the entire staircase. For more pictures you can look into my Flickr album. Flickr album of Bricks and Trains The Flickr album shows more pictures of the event, where my castle was present. Feedback, comments and questions are welcome. Sander

Thank you all for your comments. I had the same problem. I never knew how to use these parts and where for to use them. Now I use them for trees, roofs and tracks. Thanks. I do not know why I used them, I just did I guess.

Hi everyone, I have created a small landscape based on the first novel of the Harry Potter series. The scene is the first time that Harry is in Gringotts with Hagrid by his side and they are escorted by Griphook through the caves. I wanted a few tracks in the built and one of the tracks needed a drop. I was glad that I had the right tubes to create the track. Here is a picture of the built. Hi everyone I have created a small landscape based on the book Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire. The movie and the set 4762 were a disappointment. The book describes the presence of a town with small cottages with gardens and the treasures of the champions are held on a small square. I have tried to recreate the scene from the book on a 32x32 plate. There are two small cottages and a square. Harry wants to rescue Ron and Hermione and confronts the merman. Victor Krum is on his way to rescue Hermione. Here is an overview of the landscape. Here is a link of the Flickr album. https://www.flickr.com/photos/137652851@N07/albums/72157669370404822 The photo's are also on my Brickshelf account. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=564893 Feedback and questions are welcome. DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion

I agree. It is a weird choice. I just don't get it. Wonder Woman is and will be a big player in films. Why no introduction of a Wonder Woman Villain?- 8,446 replies

If monorail would return it would be a new system. Someone told me that TLG has destroyed the molds, same with the cypress trees and traffic signs. It would be nice to have the monorail back.

LEGO VIP program questions for you!
sander1992 replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
1) I think I got my membership in 2008, but I am not sure. Currently, I use my membership to save a lot of VIP points for big purchases during VIP events. 2) The events are very nice. Double VIP points is also a nice gift. 3) It does not (sorry). 4) Pick a Brick events would be very nice. The Pick a Brick walls have some nice elements and specially the last few years. But some elements would be nice to find in the wall, such as 1x1 or 1x2 plate in various colors. Perhaps a special set only for the VIP members once a year. 5) The service is great. Just keep up the good work. -
That was fun with the "water"truck. I am also surprised that the sets are quite accurate. The Jeep of the Black Panther set and the crossbones set are not present in the film. The minifig selection is really great and accurate except Agent 13 of course.

That set is great. It reminds me a bit of Barrel Escape set from the Hobbit. The buggy is not the best vehicle, but way better than the buggy from 2008.- 8,446 replies

Thank you for the pictures, Just2Good. I must say that the Killer Croc set is a bit odd. I had hoped for a scene in the sewer. I guess I have to built it around the set myself. It is nice to see it al summarized. Now we need a Stephanie Brown variant.- 8,446 replies

Thank you for the pictures, Just2Good. Now just have to wait for the sets. I must say the new pictures illustrate the sets better than the first pics.
