  1. Blakbird, Thanks for your attention to this matter. I don't know what i'm doing wrong, 1. From windows explorer, dragging and dropping to my bricksafe page doesn't work. It opens the PDF on a webpage but I don't know what to do with it. 2. When I browse to the file and open it, it does not show the file name in the dialog box and then click on "upload file", it shows that it's downloading from 0%- 100%. But it simply says invalid parameters when it's done. 3.Also, nothing happens when I try to "create a new page". 4. Moc pages didn't work either.
  2. I have the building Instructions done, but I can't seem to get it uploaded to Bricksafe and then onto Rebrickable. I may have uploaded it to MOC Pages. I built mine with BWE gears and 60 tooth turntables under the arms. I was getting graphs with giggly lines before the modification.
  3. Appie, You did a marvelous job!! I recognized it immediately as a smaller version of 8865.
  4. The advice to start with LDD is GOOD! It's easy. When you come to a point where LDD won't do what you need, then learn a new program. I use MLCAD which allows for submodelling and make building instructions with LPUB3D. I strongly prefer technic, especially studless building. Technic building instructions in LDD is oftentimes not logical. Start, with simple small projects.
  5. My favorites were 8880 and 8448. I was adult when they came out and never bought them because I was raising a family. I did find 8448 for a reasonable price about 5 years ago so I bought it. My kids were grown and gone by then So, that set restarted my LEGO habit. Does anyone know of a studless version of 8880 with building instructions? Maybe that will have to be my next project. I do own 8043, 8455, 8466, 9398, & 42056. They are all great sets too! But I especially like Supercars.
  6. Classicsmiley, in your updated sample file how do the two black 1x2 plates become a single line of code ending with ldr instead of dat in MLCAD?
  7. In LPUB3D right click on the image and you should be able to select "display step as rows". That way you can place Step 2 to the right of step 1 and place step4 to the right of step 3
  8. The building instructions are done. I just have to build it tomorrow, to make sure they actually work. After 4 long days of work, MLCAD crashed and took all my progress away. It took 2 more days to do it again. 8 more days and I'm done, maybe. It's kind of strange to make building instructions for something I haven't built yet. I was thinking of posting this on Rebrickable (with credits to PG52 and GBC Master) and post a link to it here. Sound good?
  9. This is cool!! I'm not familiar with this part you call a white visor. Can you give the part number? Thanks!
  10. In LPUB3D text can be added. You may be able to make things more understandable once you are editing instruction pages in LPUB3D. You could just put "4X' or "build 4x".
  11. PG52, I was wondering if you have any more pictures videos or et cetera. I have begun working on the building instructions. I've gotten 1/3 done over the past 2 days. You and GBC Master did all the hard work already. I will post here when it's done. Thanks for whatever else you can post!
  12. I use LPUB3D to make my instructions and would just add text there saying something like "4X" or "steps x-x build 4X". LPUB3D will automatically put the step numbers in your building instructions. Of course you have to create the steps in MLCAD first. You also need to have all the parts required for the build in MLCAD so that your "bill of materials' in LPUB will be correct. Have you checked the www.holly-wood.it/mlcad/basic1-en.html and www.holly-wood.it/mlcad/advanced2-en.htm. these may also help 1. https://forums.ldraw.org/thread-21536-post-21951.html. 13. Hey GBC Master, If you have the LDR files from which the MPD was made, I would be happy to produce the building instructions. Thanks PG52 for the LDD file. I love these spirographs! I made version 4 a couple years ago. I have always wanted to be able to build a higher version one. Thanks guys!!
  14. Joris, Thank you for 9V post!! I would very much like to open the MPD of this MOC, but all I can do is open an image of it in LDVIEW. Can you email it to me? or post it differently? I would like to open/ save it in MLCAD or LPUB 3D. I've been following this topic for years but suddenly (and mysteriously) only this week started getting emails about it. So I missed this the first time around. Thanks very much!! 1963maniac
  15. You know Blakbird, I've admired you and appreciated your work for many years. This project is just simply the best!!! I can't understand how much work this has been for you and the others. I have downloaded all the modules. I wait with great expectation for the remaining three. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
  16. I realize LPUB is known for running slowly. I have a MOC I'm making building instructions for and LPUB 3D simply stalls when drawing the next page at 52/ 62. I leave it for hours but nothing happens. I want to get this project done so I can start a new MOC. My PC is 9 years old, so I'm shopping for a new computer. I need to know what is the minimum hardware needed to run LPUB3D and not have stalling (CPU, GPU, and RAM)? What works for You?
  17. Talking about buying a better computer, could someone please tell me what they use as far as clock speed, amount of RAM, and graphics card? I am very frustrated with my PC and experience with LPUB 3D that gets stuck. I think I need a new PC and would like to know what is working for other people.
  18. I asked a similar ? to the MLCad developer; & got this reply. 'I would like to be able to copy and paste between two MLCAD files. I am assuming that is not possible. Is there another way to achieve an end result that equals copy and paste. I made the mistake of building in two separate files. Thanks, 1963maniac' "You could include one the models as a sub-model in the other (MPD menu)." Best regards, Michael
  19. Is there a guide or tutorial that is more "in depth" explaining how to use submodels when making building instructions. I have a good basic knowledge of MLCad and LPub. It seems like there is a lack of "how to" training on this. The MOC I'm working on has many replications in the build. I'm so close to being done but would like to make better building instructions. Instead of a parts list in LPUB, I'd like it to display an assembled portion of the model.
  20. WOW!! Just found this yesterday in a group of pictures from a google search. Tracked you down today. I am following this now and would love to build this!! Building instructions would be quite helpful. Thanks for sharing!!
  21. Hey folks, I got busy with the next project and forgot to post it here. This is the link to rebrickable for the building instructions and parts list. http://www.rebrickable.com/mocs/Kay/24-leg-walker I made three more strandbeests; 1. a 16 leg walker; 2. a 16 leg studless walker; and 3. a 24 leg studless version, all with building instructions and parts lists. let me know if you are interested. Here's video on the latest project: It will be on Rebrickable soon.
  22. Sorry for the late post. I had my PLI commands in the wrong order. Thanks, Freakwave.
  23. Thanks Freakwave, Classic Smiley helped me via PM.
  24. The issue is that the MLCAD parts list does not match the LPUB bill of materials. MLCAD is correct. How can the BOM be corrected for the building instructions.
  25. Is there a way to email it privately through this website or another. I tried to copy/paste the ldr file (unsuccessfully) on Mocpages and bricksafe.
