  1. Ähh... I might be late to have noticed... but what's up with that? If factions don't claim quick enough, Mardier will? *listens to distant corrish screams*
  2. This exactly: So they are being revealed to you - through the calculations which you - of course - have to keep track of. Then it's your responsibility (or the settlements' mayors/islands' governors) to make them public for your fellow builders. Again, don't expect anyone to come up with a personal note every time a property is licensed, that's just not realistic - at least for now. Maybe automation can help here in the future, I don't know. Please don't get me wrong, I get that this is rather suboptimal (also considering the fact that there are a lot of quest possibilities 'hidden', too, which need input/moderating), but at this point it's more like don't ask what BoBS can do for you - ask what you can do for BoBS IMO, rumors are true, so if bananas are rumored to grow well, they always will on all of the island's plantations. So I'd build a banana plantation and check its yield next month, expecting more. If it isn't, well, yields can be adapted even for past months, I assume, so nothing should prevent you from building now. Just don't wait for a list of bonuses to get bricking! Again, BoBS is a WIP
  3. Some feedback of whatsoever sort surely is necessary, but I'm sure our tirelessly working automation team will implement something - as they've done in the past. Until then, it's really as Maxim said: Follow the rumors, build and see! And some DB revenues can surely be granted for months past, shouldn't these calculations work already. BoBS is a WIP, after all
  4. Not sure if you can expect someone to hand out 'Congrats, your farm made 30% more!' to everyone - simply too much effort. The mining result notifications are not really up to date already - and there are way fewer mines/prospecting builds around than other properties. As it will get calculated, can't you deduce it from your DB yields (if you keep a tight record of your income) and then make a note in the settlement/island thread for all to see? I... I don't know what to reply to this...
  5. Great job, guys, must have been a great fun event. Kudos to the organizers! The Jade Piranha definitely looks piranha-ish - like he just omnomnomed those poor pirate souls. Waiting for your entry, MKJoshA! And Bregir - always the scientific Corrie... but beware of NaOH, might cause chemical burns
  6. Don't get your hopes up too much. On a comparable matter Ska (he plus Scarst are the ones with the dice of power) once said a mere addition of ships would not work, as that would change the number of NPC pirates in every (effected/traveled) zone, meaning that the entire MCRA for all ships would have to be re-rolled. And this was just way too much work. But since this really effected more than just a few ships, well, lets see what Ska has to say. What bothers me most about this lost paperwork issue is, that there seems to be no way to prevent this from happening again Hopefully MCRA2 will feature a mechanism to double check whether all paperwork is accounted for.
  7. Dang, CD is right, no food here... Why are your green-eared affairs so blue? I find this offensive Chilläx, dudes and dudettes, no one is interested in a war at this point. Even if that's only 'cause we don't know how to 'play' one Just please don't forget that a big part of ESL's appeal as a faction is that constant power struggle between the central power and the TCs. Nice vignette, Titus, love the texture and the stand Oh, and one last thing: One more MCRA and Bregir will surely be able to buy all of ESL. Capitalism is peace!
  8. Dude, you almost gave me a heart attack! Never stir up calm waters, you never know what resurfaces This has been common policy so far, so I'd say
  9. Hi guys, I guess it's still the 25th somewhere on the dark side... of the moon So here goes, part II of Oleon's side of the build-off with Namere. Investigating “A fresh lemon scent.” That was all that the crew of La Recouvrance noticed when they arrived at their rendezvous point with Scimitar and Commerce de Breshaun. Nothing else. The ships were gone. Other crews had reported seeing a ship flying a changing set of flags, causing them to run, since only pirates would change their flags to unlawfully prey on ships. And several reports hinted at an involvement of the Namerians, so Granoleon decided to have the ambassador in Balmin launch an investigation. The Royal Court knew the Namerians were opposing any trade relations with the Marderians, and would offer letters of marque to anyone to interrupt trade routes. But there hadn't been any trade between Oleon and Mardier in years, so should the rumors of an Namerian involvement turn out to be true, seizing both vessels would have been an act of piracy, not to be justified by any letter of marque! So a private investigator was hired to shed some light on the mysterious disappearance of the two ships and Namere's role in this story. The investigator's first stop were the docks in Balmin. But so far he has had no luck finding any traces. But suddenly... could it be? A fresh lemon scent! It's a start. But will it lead somewhere? Thanks for watching C&C as always welcome! Vive le Roi!
  10. One last thing: Better link COR's first part here, too! Wouldn't want this build-off to be decided by a technicality
  11. Changed as requested Great build-off, may the force be... ehm... may the best team win!
  12. Amazing vessel, LS, it's astonishing to see your shipbuilding skills increase that quickly. Lovely shape on this one, my highlight is the mast and boom design here My only suggestion for the future... get a panorama lens for your camera More ships, please!
  13. Ah, that's what you meant, oops. Well... if your ship is not already participating in the Prio-battle, equipping it with additional troops is something you can always do. Sending it (no matter the size of the crew) to Prio is the Recruit-move. So IMO - as it's not forbidden - your plan should work.
  14. Correct. You can recruit up to 90 additional soldiers per turn - which is a full battalion (raising costs 220DB, upkeep 54DB). Just buy them using the Troop Raising Form, then 'teleport' them to Prio via the Troop Placement Form. Sending a ship will block that ship, sort of 'park' it somewhere off the island (rendering it inactive, so no blockade or sea-battle off the coast), and have the crew fight as troops: 10 * class level + 5 men per Crew level. A class 4A, for example, would bring you 55 soldiers. Basic idea: recruiting soldiers will cost you DB for raising and upkeep, but keep your ships available, sending ships will provide soldiers for free, but will inactivate your ships for the time of the conflict. I assume all troops/ships' crews will be available again once the fight is over - so technically nobody dies(?)
  15. That was fast. Alright, let's have it! Signing up, also.
  16. Last month, an unknown ship flying no colors attacked an Oleander convoy and captured both the Commerce de Breshaun and the Scimitar. Several reports suggested that the privateer ship had come from Namere. So Oleon's ambassador in Balmin confronted the Royal Court, who denied any involvement, claiming the ship in question must have come from somewhere else. Both an Oleander delegation and the Balmin Royal Court are now gathering evidence to prove the other side wrong. So we're calling for volunteers for a build off to decide which side has the better arguments. Three volunteers for each side (Namere and Oleon). To volunteer, apply in this topic and state which side you'd like to help. Each volunteer will have to build one MOC. 20x20 limit on MOC size, with a minimal overhang. Deadline is June 25th. Any BoBS member can volunteer for Namere, except Oleanders. Only Oleanders can volunteer for Oleon. Each team must incorporate the following four themes at least once in their total of three builds: investigator, the ruse, lighthouse, and Pine Sol (a cleaning detergent). Once the teams are determined, a PM thread will be set up for each team. Builds must be posted in their own thread and linked to below. All builds will earn 10 DBs (but will not count as free builds). If Namere wins, Namere volunteers will receive 50 DBs in addition to the 10 DBs for building. If Oleon wins, Oleander volunteers will receive 50 DBs in addition to the 10 DBs for building. Building may commence immediately, but waiting to confer with your fellow builders might be advantageous. After the 25th, a voting thread will be set up. All EB members will be invited to determine (based on the MOCs) which side deserves to win this buid-off. If Oleon wins, the two ships will be restored to their former owners. If Namere wins, the ships will remain... somewhere. More information on Namere: Namere, once part of Mardier, are the easternmost people on the continent. They are avid seafarers, but mostly travel west. They control the gateway to the north coast of Halos, and have a pretty strong local navy. They are currently involved in open support for the rebels in the Mardier Civil War. The rebels opinion is that any of the major nations that still trade with Mardier (all of them) are supporting the "False King" in power currently. So a Namere privateer would have permission from Mardier rebel command to plunder any ships of another country not currently backing the rebels (Namere, Carno, Garvey, Altonia). So... who's up for a challenge? Throw down the gauntlet and let's get bricking!
  17. That's great news, huzzah! And for this occasion, a new city flag representing Breshaun's new status is now being hoisted.
  18. Wow, von Wreck really is a beast beating/damaging one of our strongest squadrons! Captured ships might still be 'in the game' (not 100% sure about the game mechanics here), so a convoy escort might get lucky recapturing a ship... Or unlucky being captured by a 'turned' one. In any case: Indeed!
  19. Not who, but what: surely for their purses = armies' owners, e.g. M = Maxim, P = Phred
  20. Do you mean this? Mocing an attack or a defense. If you are conducting an attack, and MOC the attack or a defense, you gain 1 rank for that army. (one moc per army)
  21. Excellent build, Mike! Tree, foliage, minifigs - all top notch Mi-KwalityTM Waiting to see the next chapters. Oh, and don't worry for Oleon's activities further south, this is all anti-pirates only, of course! Will increase the safety on Serentia, also Keep it up!
  22. Nice build, Sarge Always a fan of your minimalist building style The Dove indeed proves to be an overachiever - I hope this continues! 21DB is a rather specific amount for a reward But maybe that was all she had left. In which case: How dare you exploit that poor family! Keep it up!
  23. Duke, this is yet another great ship from you! Love it She looks heavy enough to be considered some sort of razee, a former two-decker, cut down to a heavy frigate, maybe. Just not sure about your choice of navigators Anyway, I'm waiting to see her under full sails
