  1. I admire your dedication to making this look like an official set, great job! I tend to go nuts with detail and making it modular, and adding laser cannons... :D You did great for 6-wide, surprised I like this so much since I'm mostly a fan of wider widths. I could tell what most of the details were, even without things like a sticker for the menu, that shows you did an excellent job and that I eat out of lunch trucks waaaaaaay too much. And hello neighbor :) (I'm in Hollywood) What lunch truck inspired this MOC? I want to pay them a visit because they must have good food! How about trying to build Pink's on Western and 3rd? The place is small enough that you could design it in LDD and not break the bank if you decide to buy the pieces. @CptMugwash: If I had to guess, I would say the two gray 2921's on the right side could be condiment dispensers.
  2. This is the best thread EVER Thank you so much for the plant monster!
  3. Sorry about doing this to you Kiel, I update the LXF for the Space Truck for the FINAL FINAL time -Added a little engine under the hood and simple interior to the cab Space Truck: http://www.mediafire.com/?6baaszt9ux55dyn
  4. Added the FINAL FINAL FOR REALZ update to the first post! -I couldn't help myself, I had to add a little engine and interior to the model, the LXF on the first post has been updated
  5. Sweeeeet :) Also, I just noticed that the rear-view mirrors are actually fairly adjustable because of how I built them. You can even slide the bley axe-pick in or out to let the mirrors see past the container's engine pieces. (the engines block their view if they're slid in all the way, they're fine without the container)
  6. Cool beans! :D I updated the .LXF file just now, so you might want to change the link in the index, sorry about the last minute changes, but they were necessary improvements :)
  7. I hope when I start making internal engine space ships they'll look as clean as this!
  8. Great insect-like shape, though I have to admit it just looks like a pile of random bricks in the closeups (great use of them though), gotta admire it from a distance.
  9. Updated the LDD file :)
  10. Yar har har harrrr! Added LXF to the first post, so you can all nit pick at my flaws lol. The truck still needs mirrors on the sides, the ones on the proto are kinda ugly so I'll design some new ones. Edit: Reinforced door:
  11. Pretty @_@ The sides of the middle section look boring though, maybe put another pair of wedges there with snot? Maybe a pair of these?
  12. [first post has all updates now]
  13. Wish I could take credit for all of the design, but it was fun remaking this not knowing how it's supposed to be built. I ended up with neat features like extra places to attach signs and rods, more greeble, and the hollow (but still sturdy) cab. I could probably add a missile launcher in there! Yesss, I'll make the laser, I might as well, right? I have to build the container first though to see what will fit in it.
  14. Zank you very much! I have now lost a day of sleep thanks to this and my occasional bouts of OCD. [first post has all updates now]
  15. [first post has all updates now]
  16. Holy crap, love the shape, feels like some kind of space submarine
  17. FINAL UPDATE - March 5th - Here is the mostly-completed LDD file of this beast: http://www.mediafire.com/?6baaszt9ux55dyn The final piece count is about 650, varying with whatever you decide to add (like the seats, wheel, chains). If you remove the arms, you can fit two minifigs comfortably in there! I'm not going to edit this anymore, but feel free to make improvements! Thanks to KielDaMan for adding this to the LDD Index! Eurobricks is the only forum or website that I've posted the instructions, so it's an exclusive to this site. :) Something I'd like to point out is that eventually this thing should get stickers. Also, it doesn't have spikes and skulls all over it because this is supposed to be a sneaky smuggling truck, not trying to draw attention to itself :) (although I did add spikes to see how it looks xD ) ====== Mar.5th - FINAL FINAL FOR REALZ (haha) -NEW! Added an engine under the hood and interior to the cab! It's powered by pure evil! I guess that engine powers the lights and communication stuff, the 6 massive engines outside are only for propulsion. -Front cannons are now realistically possible to build and have been attached with a slightly sturdier connection to the Truck (used two 4081 instead of one 60470) -Added some very basic inverted slopes and plates to reinforce the underside of the whole Truck -Fixed the Container a little more, now the lid should only attach with 4 studs, making it much easier to remove -Added black dishes to the backside of the engines as a final touch (and so you can attach fire) -Switched two 1x2 Bley plates behind the grill with one 2x2 to add strength to the grill -The rear-view mirrors are actually fairly adjustable, you can even slide the bley axe-pick in or out to let the mirrors see past the container's engine pieces. Mar.3rd -The container's top is now easily removable (in real life) -Added a handle to the container's rear door, and a tile to keep it from hinging all the way into the container -Added slopes to the cab's roof cuz I felt like it lol. -Added rear-view mirrors! Mar.1st -Tweaked colors from official prototype. -The interior of the cab needs to be built, that's up to you. -Small space under hood to add whatever you want, the bley cylinders and studs there aren't vital. -Container is kinda weak without the lid on. Connects to flatbed with 2 pins (still working on it) -Underside needs reinforcement (you can add a bunch of plates and it'll be good, I reckon.) ================= I intended this to be a community project where everyone can jump in and modify it, but meh, I realize not everyone has the free time to mess with it. So here's what I have so far. It's accurate. -I took liberties with the underside of the rockets, there's supposed to be something trans neon green under there, the disks are pretty. -Container will attach to the flatbed with pins -The 2x2 gray circle on the end of the rockets is supposed to be the spinning part of a 2x2 turntable, I don't know how to separate the piece in LDD though. -I'll make changes once I build the whole thing, like better guns in front, etc. -The original prototype: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jamesster/Space-Prototypes/4.bmp ===== Final Overview: Container: Exterior engine close up (colors have changed since this pic): Part of the greeble on the door: Rocket things on the container's side: Small engine under hood: Interior of cab:
  18. Thanks everyone :] Aw, dark blue just looks like regular blue in LDD, but at least I own the real piece to test it out. Bingo!, once I add stickers that should make the ship more interesting instead of so so very white. And to be honest, I had Darkwing Duck on my mind while building this so it might need a little more nudging in the Space Police direction An update, I tile and cheesed the front where the missiles connect. Here's a shot with a fin and racing stripe, like the red one on the Skull Interceptor (these space cops sure do like to taunt those Skull guys, lol): You can see a little gap at the rear between the hatch and fin, but I don't mind it: As for the shape of the fin....meh, lol. I like both of these, one is sharp and one is curved at the back. Sloped, matches the shape of the plane better: Sharp, looks... sharper: What do you legomaniacs think?
  19. Looks cool LL! How about making many dioramas of rooms inside the ship? (that's what this looks like so far) Then you could build the ship in a smaller scale for display. Man, that'd be a great way to make comics with! @SWF: For big ships yeah, a frame is useful to hold the ship together when moving it around. I don't think they make the ship look cool, just more stable, ideally you'd completely hide the frame. Frames aren't necessary for smaller ships since they're not heavy.
  20. With criminals now having access to top of the line equipment and weapons, the Space Police need to make their ships faster, sleeker, stronger, burlier! Meaner! More brutaltastic! Capable of ramming into enemy ships and keep on ticking, behold the newest addition to the Space Police stable, the Brutalizor 5000! (I can't name ships, lol) Improved cannons, added weapons, modular cargo hold (for prisoners or equipment), larger interior, bigger engines that make enough noise to make a perp go deaf, this fighter is ready for almost any challenge! Driving it into a sun isn't recommended, but by golly we're almost sure you can do that too! ========= Okay, I'm not entirely happy with the side cannons or how the two missiles are attached, any ideas? Also, anyone know if it's possible to get "dark trans blue" in LDD? An I should probably add something to the top, but I don't know what, maybe some blue/red lights? Gallery: http://img191.imageshack.us/g/m2bottomnew.jpg/ Rear closed: http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/8409/m2rear.jpg Side view: http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/1567/m2side.jpg Top view: http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/2527/m2topnew.jpg Roomy cargo hold: Bottom is flat (will make landing gear some time): Cockpit holds some gear too, the white divider behind pilot can be moved:
  21. So many mohawks... so many mohawks coming my way!
  22. I'm sure someone makes custom display cases (to fit stuff like that display), but who knows how much that'll cost you, shipping alone will probably be a pain.
  23. I don't have many bricks so I mostly make stuff in LDD. I'll use real bricks to test connections LDD doesn't like though.
  24. That looks taller and deeper than the race car case I got, much easier to work with. They didn't have any of those when I went both times :(
  25. I'll never understand marketing. "Unit" was used because it's less aggressive, but destroying ships with missiles and shooting aliens in the face to do horrible experiments with them is okay? I like the alien ships' color schemes.
