  1. Moar hammers, 2 of the small ones are based on designs I found while browsing online. Surprisingly there aren't that many moc hammers out there. Go figure. That yellow Scuba Hammer makes me giggle :) This is the source for one of them, the other was being held by a dwarf, just can't find it anymore, sorry! http://vignettebricks.blogspot.com/2007/01/you-call-that-hammer-now-this-is.html
  2. I hope there are figure packs, not because I army-build but because I don't want to spend $100 on a mediocre set just to get sexy Bormir and Faramir figures. For example, if there were figure packs for Star Wars with the popular figs in them I would buy them all (for the neat alien figures), but since that's not the case I don't buy any SW sets at all from retail stores and ignore the series for the most part. I'm betting a ton of people would buy such packs because they don't want to pay the ridiculous prices for the popular figs, but I understand it won't happen, otherwise there would be much less incentive to buy the larger sets.
  3. Progress, detailed the interior, LDD won't let me add designs to the 1x2 tiles for some reason :/ The clips are for equipment. By happy chance I think this thing is in minifig scale or very close to it. The figs fit perfectly, I brick-built their legs though to make them look better (they take up a 2x3 space instead of the usual 2x2 legs) Also thickened the front "prongs" by one plate. Oh yeah, and the seats can recline Also, used a classic steering wheel because it reminds me of classic cars. :)
  4. Yar, fixed the long nose and it looks better. I could take or leave the spiky tooth things, I just wanted to replicate the sharp point. May have an update later today, the hardest part about building for me is forcing myself not to make it minifig scale, maybe this can be the UCS version
  5. That looks like a formidable ship, it also looks like it has a bunch of rivets all over the body because of how the flash's highlights, pretty neat effect. It's also cool that you added doors and hatches and exhaust pipes, I would always forget about those when I built ships... my poor, poor suffocated crew... --- I wouldn't take the lack of responses too personally, at least a ton of people are looking at your work. A good chunk of them most likely like it but don't bother posting or aren't registered. Though it is kinda worrying when no one says how they think you did one way or the other. Feedback is always useful. Add Yoda as the captain and post it in the star wars forum, maybe you'll get some more feedback that way
  6. Yeeaaaahhhhhh it's half a speeder xD I don't have any particular scale in mind with this, I just want to see how much of it I can complete. Suggestions always welcome. -I really don't like the windshield, but what are ya gonna do. Maybe if I make a smaller version I can use the windshield from the Space Police 3 Falcon ship. At that size the ship will only seat 1 or two people though. -Didn't find any other reference pic but the one below, so I'm going to be making up a chunk of the details. The sides, rear, interior, all made up. I don't even know what it's supposed to look like with the doors and trunk closed hah -No action features on this one, doors won't open and stuff. I can't tell how they're supposed to work so I don't want to spend a lot of time on this just to discard it later. Anyway, here you go: Edit: Shortened nose
  7. There's nothing wrong with them. Some people like Skittles. Some people only like the yellow Skittles. It's their choice and that's fine, that leaves more variety for everyone else who does like the full spectrum of colors. :)
  8. Warning!, obvious response ahead: The current Alien theme is military/paramilitary, so why did that still get made? Because humans are killing non-humans so that makes it okay? I don't see the train of logic in why some themes are made and some are considered inappropriate, they seem like arbitrary decisions. Derfel - I guess whoever approved Star Wars LEGO to be made is just desensitized to the point that knowing so many innocent people died doesn't even phase them, it's just another pretty fantasy explosion. It's all about the PEW! PEW! and all that
  9. The "fantasy violence" argument doesn't make any sense either, especially when it comes to LOTR or anything involving war. It's dudes hacking each other's limbs off, that's pretty violent. Shooting down UFOs, cutting people in half with lightsabers, raiding castles, the characters in those themes and series aren't hitting each other with fluffy-bunnies. They're people trying to kill each other, the tools used to participate in the acts don't make them any less horrific. Maybe I'm not understanding the definition they're using for "fantasy"? Again, none of this bothers me, I just think it's odd how people justify the sale of one kind of violence but not another when they're extremely similar. And haha, so true, LEGO crooks never get away with anything, those city cops are everywhere!
  10. Yeah, you can use any design I made, the more they're used the merrier
  11. That is one fine hammer, perfect for knocking down those pretty wooden doors
  12. Hah, what a neat idea, does that slider on the right raise the troll up the wall? (if it is a slider and not a really long window lol) It's a solid display as is, but if it ever bothers you enough I think simply extending the bridge a little more would get the point across better that it's a bridge not a stone treehouse.
  13. I never understood the reasoning that something is "too violent" for LEGO to make a series of when they have brutal themes like PIRATES and WESTERN and SPACE themes with intergalactic wars where the goal is pretty much genocide of the enemy by means of horrific weaponry. Hell, those of you who live in a big CITY know exactly how much violence is happening at all times all around you. Who's in charge of drawing the arbitrary line? What's the official company statement about it? In Star Wars everyone is constantly killing each other and even go so far as to REMORSELESSLY DESTROY AN ENTIRE PLANET ALONG WITH EVERYONE ON IT, making it one of the most violent LEGO themes EVER. More than that, the weapon used to commit the genocidal atrocity is one of the most glorified LEGO sets ever, by both fans and The LEGO Group themselves. Star Wars itself is one of the most popular LEGO themes ever. Why isn't Star Wars being shunned by TLG since it's based on such a violent property? Because it's a cash cow of course. Who are they trying to protect with their phony-balony "no violence" rule or whatever when they've released so many violent themes already that have been (and still are) wildly successful? I don't see anyone complaining about Star Wars or Castle where pissed-off axe-wielding men brutally pummel each other about the face and neck, so maybe it's about time to drop the "no violence" policy (if that is the policy of course, I'm not clear on that) and make more sets based on themes their fans desperately want. And I'm not bashing TLG, I like many of the themes they've released and buy what I can to support them. And not surprisingly it's because I, like most of the rest of humanity, like violence and violent themes, and so enjoy having Sith and Jedi minifigs trying to rip each other's limbs off and build elaborate contraptions for my Space Police guys to efficiently kill (or at least cripple for life) the opposition. Also, oops, went off topic :) I'd be all over a LOTR LEGO series, with Toy Biz and their 6-inch LOTR figures long dead, LEGO versions of the series would fill the hole nicely.
  14. Guess there aren't too many people interested in these, oh well. I'll keep posting them anyway. I call that horned one The Bull :)
  15. On to some outlandish designs, here we have the golden Aero-Styker and the U.F.O. - Unidentified Fragging Object. -Ancient Aliens fans may recognize the inspiration for the Aero-Stryker ;) -No one knows where the U.F.O. originated, all who wield it swear they can feel themselves levitating towards the heavens, feeling closer than ever to the gods (or "ZE GODS!" as Von Daniken enthusiastically puts it ).
  16. Just as pretty as everyone else's work lately, maybe too pretty though, I don't know any metalworker who would surround his home with flowers How about giving that smith a variety of hammers? :D
  17. The Magnatronner, business in the front, party in the back! The striking face is straightforward enough, the hidden power of this hammer is its ability to attract your enemies' metal weapons. They can't hit you if their sword is stuck! And some kind of steampunk wooden hammer. Just messing around with pieces, this is one ugly brute lol
  18. That's one hardcore park ranger is he's arresting bears
  19. So cool, wish I could make stuff like that in LDD without all the non-sensical connection issues. Do you just have a big bag of bricks or did you design it digitally first? Tip: Lower the ISO on your camera and that should get rid of the grainy effect in your photos :) (unless you like it of course)
  20. I want to keep this as a weapons/armor only topic but I do love those animals too. I don't know, having them in the same thread is like going to a museum that displays paintings and pancakes, they're both spiffy topics but kinda weird together. :laughs: I'll edit the first post to point to everyone's individual creations in this thread though, I'll update it weekly or something. I can't edit the title though, you guys are stuck with that @Nobleman: Those are some big thwompers! Perfect against those obnoxious skeletons, just remember to collect their bones to sell to witches afterward, powdered monster bone goes for big money! All weapons are welcome :) Edit: Added index/table of contents to first post
  21. The reward for your kind words is a shield! (...and another hammer! ) And a mini-shield for the hell of it (buckler?)
  22. That lion is too cool @_@ Fantu, if you want I can buy the Hero figures here in the US and ship them to you, you'll probably save a few bucks but not sure if it's worth it for you. Maybe everything can fit in a priority envelope, it's like $15 shipping total worldwide.
  23. And now some LEGO Universe hammers, I'm surprised I didn't use any of their designs, just goes to show how many possibilities there are
  24. Yar, I played a little bit of LU in beta, and even though it was under construction the models were still inspiring. A shame that game is floundering. Feel free to post your weapon ideas in here, unless someone else makes different weapons, this is going to be HAMMER TIME ALL THE TIME! For your enthusiasm you get... MOAR HAMMERS! 3 more standard hammers to use around the barn, those horseshoes aren't going to nail themselves onto those hooves! Well, that first one is more for tenderizing that tasty horse meat, mmmmmm... And another special item, Earthmover!: Earthmover trembles in your grip as it shakes with the anticipation of crushing everything in sight. A powerful pneu-magic piston pumps the striking-head into the ground repeatedly with enough force to destroy a castle's foundations! If your arms aren't torn off by the thrumming power, you'll enjoy brutal victory and a free foot massage.
