  1. It's for everyone but no one else seems to post any Sci-Fi :(
  2. Fun pics :) Looks like the main problem with your pics is that there isn't enough light hitting the figs from the front. An easy fix is to simply hold a piece of white paper in front of the figures (and under your camera lens of course so it doesn't block the shot) so the light will bounce onto their fronts. Also, lower your ISO setting all the way down (to get rid of the "noise" in the dark areas).
  3. LOL! I'm gonna stop trying to make Star Wars comics, I don't know the characters well enough to make anything funny that makes sense Good job folks
  4. I'm also posting new comics in the Space Truck topic :)
  5. Got parts for my Space Police ship, only missing a few bits and stickers! And it looks like the Mechanic's name is Jurek, lol
  6. It took me a few hours to reverse-engineer the space truck based on the prototype picture. The most time spent was on the lights in front, and that was still only like 10 minutes, I used a lot of the time to eat some snacks, lol.
  7. I use 100% Acetone and cotton swabs to remove paint, it works on action figures too. Thing is, you have to work fast, or at least dunk the piece in water every few swipes so the acetone doesn't eat the plastic. You could also dilute it, it takes more rubbing to get the paint off but you're less likely to damage the piece. Also, the brick is going to lose its shine, it won't be glossy any more.
  8. ...I like orange, lol.
  9. Thanksssss, your praissse feeeddssss meeee Yet another reason to love SP3, all the greebling; some of the vehicles look like they're from Mad Max in space! Feel free to tweak the model all you want, add more guns, make it pink! There's nothing else on this page that I want to build, are there more proto pics anywhere? Gives me something to build while I wait for parts!
  10. is building space trucks!

  11. 50% off!? I hate all the stores around here, no sales, EVER, the nearby Walmart had almost all its LEGO sets opened with stolen pieces and they still wanted full price for them. Yar, that's what's so interesting about SP to me, the vehicles look like something we may actually have in the not-too-distant future. Strap some rockets on a truck and off we go! Hope the pictures are working for you now :) ...and oops, off-topic xD
  12. Some fun with the mechanic-
  13. I love love LOVE MegaBlok's odd pieces, the 2x2 plate with studs on both sides is awesome for all sorts of SNOT building
  14. Got one of the cannons assembled, I may switch the black lance (running down the middle of the cylinders) to Bley I'm not updating the LDD file anymore, but I'll still show any tweaks here. -It was pretty easy to add spikes to the front! Just use clips and those fang-like swords. -Changed black lances in cannons to bley -Changed trans red studs to trans red tiles, and trans studs to trans slopes.
  15. I used a trans neon green round brick in the engine (and a few other places) to give it a subtle Blacktron vibe.
  16. And the parts start coming in... I like the idea of the mechanic being Russian lol I've been reading too much of Rocket Red in the Generation Lost series
  17. I swear, if I see any more pink LEGO bricks on those shelves I am going to scream, jump in front of a LEGO train, and go insane, not in that particular order.
  18. So happy, I just got Smash N Grab and Space Truck Getaway for $23 total, going to be fun to see what features those sets have and if I can incorporate them into this giant rig.
  19. Your photo is fine, you just need to crank up the exposure a little. (use a slower shutter speed) Edit: Actually, nevermind, your photo is fine, the contrast threw me off lol. Used Auto Levels and sharpened it a little: Anyway, it's usually not a good idea to use a white backdrop for a white object, try a gray backdrop next time. Color backdrops give a nasty tinge to the whole picture unless you know what you're doing. And good job on the building, first thing I thought of was Aladdin so you nailed that vibe :)
  20. The really cheap on-sale keychains (they were like $2 last time) are a great way to get lots of interesting minifigs. All you need to remove the keychain part is a pair of pliers.
  21. Coooool! There's a lunch truck stationed permanently a block from my home, they don't have the coffee/hot water dispenser, that area is filled with basic condiments like pepper, chili, relish, etc. And I don't blame them for not offering hot water, the way people here overreact to any situation, if someone splashes hot water on themselves they'd be suing the pants off the truck guys! If you like Space Police, check-out the MOCs I made in the Sci-Fi forum :) The line ended way too soon! (Space Truck)
  22. I don't like that a bunch more trees have to die just because some parents can't use a little logic when choosing what set to buy their kids. I understand the giant box sizes are a "necessary evil" for any toy company to help sell more toys, but still, none of this makes me feel any better about any of it.
  23. I started building the T-Rex skeleton from LEGO Batman, but got annoyed that I couldn't find some of the hinges needed to make the arms and couldn't see other bricks at all so I gave up. Please feel free to finish this up anyone. :) T-Rex Dinosaur Skeleton - http://www.mediafire.com/?c91vrbea5hrovn6 Location: LEGO Batman Villain Missions Act 2 - "Stealing the Show" Errors -In-game, the front bottom teeth attach directly to the wedge-plate, that's impossible, so I used some white clips instead. -Obviously the skeleton's spine can't bend like in the game, the only to do that is to use white studs with holes in them and glue everything together with an elastic band. -I couldn't recreate the smooth-top 2x2 round brick (it doesn't exist) at the neck joint, I used a normal 2x2 round brick. -The front-most wedge that creates the top of the skull needs to be attached to the rest of the skull somehow, it's just floating there. -The arms need to be redone (they're my own bad design), couldn't find the proper hinge pieces. -The claws and teeth should be some kind of tan (sand?) Hints -The T-Rex and his little dino-buddy appear in "Stealing the Show". To get a good look at the T-Rex, ride it all the way to the right side of the screen and walk very close to the edge of the pit, pointing the body part you want to see directly at the screen. Then hop off the dino and walk up against the wall, the camera's zoom will put the Dino in almost full view! Reposition the T-Rex simply by riding it, or if you want to put it closer to the pit without riding it into the pit, just jump off and push against it so it slides slowly.
