  1. Haven't seen any yet but found this online. Still not at any of the big retailers though.
  2. A good bunch there George G - the Picasso one is the highlight for me. I still miss your 'Ways of the insert word that rhymes with force' jokes.
  3. I've just been looking at your Z56 Air Speeder - and you call yourself a rookie - I think you're hustling us . Thanks for your insight Hollander - I think that idea makes perfect sense - the thinnest rear with the thinnest front . I'm probably going to end up trying all the configurations and this is going to become a WIP topic for a tiny MOC .
  4. When I started losing my hair I immediately started shaving my head. My so called friends decided Praiter Yed would be an appropriate nickname - in our local dialect this means Potato Head. Coincidentally, colleagues at the place I worked started to call me Mr. Potato Head at the same time.
  5. Mr. Potato Head - I think it's time I posted in the 'What's in a name ???' topic. And, thanks
  6. I joined the same day as Brickdoctor & Blackknight112 and also have over 25% posts in Star Wars so could I have the tag too please ? I have been wondering what the tag featuring the Death Star 2 is for?
  7. Cool, I always enjoy your alternative builds Legostein. I have the mini GG Starfighter and my daughter has (or should I say, had ) the Creator Shark.
  8. I've put lxf files for two different versions of speeder bike here in MOC Speeder Bike topic in the Star Wars forum. I'm not sure if these are appropriate for indexing as they're kind of incomplete due to some illegal connections - I'll let you decide. Cheers, Praiter Yed
  9. That's the heat supply to the suit. I had made a more detailed power heater but it was too bulky. I can improve on the hose, I was just using parts I had to hand (I'm still banned from buying more Lego ). Not sure how to take that - the best bit is the tiny pieces of cut tubing? Scrap this version and use these handle bars on the grey version? Thanks Masked Builder. Thanks lightning tiger - looks like you'll be seeing another pretty soon. You wait a long, long, long time for a Hoth Speeder Bike, then two come along at once. Cheers Mr Man. The pipe would only apply to the cold weather version, once I settle on design (and am allowed back on BL) I'll probably make more regular versions. I suspect a Speeder Bike would be pretty uncomfortable to ride anyway - I bet those Scout Troopers get through tons of talc . EDIT: Added lxf file for this version. lxf file.
  10. That's a really sweet and sleek speeder bike - the tooth pieces work really well . I agree with Mr Man about leg removal causing reduced playability but for a display model or part of a diorama that's not an issue. Regarding your photos, I prefer the white background.
  11. Good one Skrytsson. Finally C-3PO can fulfil his dream of joining The Village People.
  12. I suspect this is more about the figs than the vehicle, seems an odd choice for a set. I had no interest in this and still have no interest, I did enjoy your review however - very entertaining.
  13. I've updated the first post to include pictures of the Hoth speeder. This is almost a completely different design (credit to Larry Lars for the Blaster/Outrigger/Steering Vane combo) and it would be ridiculous to have inconsistent speeder bike designs - don't you think? Therefore I would much appreciate it if the guys and gals of EB could let me know which one's best or even if I should mix them up a bit (the front and back are interchangeable). Cheers, Praiter More here when public.
  14. I keep looking at this and I have mixed feelings. I think the back 2/3s looks great but I just can't get used to the nose section. IMO the slopes look too steep and the nose too straight - It has a flattened look about it. However, I think it's one of those areas that is never going to be bang-on in Lego so it's down to personal preference how you like to see it built. That said; maybe the shots are not doing it justice because from the angle in your final photo it looks good.
  15. Thanks guys. Thanks for the feedback Mr Man - I think the other Speeder may have been Larry Lars'. I wanted to use the Clone helmet light pieces but I only own two and can only find one . I tried some cut down tubing but it just kept pinging off - I'm going to try again as it clearly should work. I'm tempted to say the 74-Z would be impossible to create accurately in Lego at this scale - but comments like that tend to come back and bite me on the behind. I'd be happy if it's similar to a 74-Z or just better than Legos'. Maybe my next version will get closer.
  16. I think the last set I bought properly was 7915 Imperial V-Wing. I don't normally buy PT sets but I wanted R2-Q5 and it had a 30% reduction - I decided it was worth it for the droid and the parts rather than pay BL or eBay prices. On the same day I also bought the Hoth rebel battle pack, Mando battle pack and Clone battle pack from a different shop - in order to get my hands on three shiney white Boba Fetts . Other than that I won 30051 Mini X-Wing & 30054 Mini AT-ST on eBay. Originally these were 'free' give-aways with the Sun newspaper but it's cheaper for me to bid than spend £5 petrol per day to collect from my nearest TRU.
  17. Thank you Masked Builder. If anyone is interested I have made a lxf file available - it's quite messy. The only thing I can think to note is that there is a 1 x 1 lamp holder at the rear it must be the old style with a thin ring. lxf file
  18. Expletive, expletive, expletive amazing! That's one beautiful but heavy baby. Can't wait for the video.
  19. Good find Supersonic. Maybe I was just too excited about this set. It all looks a bit random and thrown together, as Stegoceras said it sort of looks like it's part of another theme. With the Battle of Endor, Lego showed that they could provide good design, a good figure selection and good playability - I expected the same from this, but it looks like they forgot the design and some of the figures. Ah well, time to start looking forward to 2012. EDIT: Is that medical droid sand blue?
  20. ... As an OT fan I'd have to get U-3PO and E-3PO but I don't think I'd bother with TC-14 . Couldn't resist this...
  21. Is this classed as a vignette? Very nice greebling troopmaker. It's surprising how the addition of just a few tiles really finishes this off.
  22. Thanks Legostein - I wish Lego made a part specifically to seat a minifig like this. I'm not a fan of the big moulded motor-cycle parts - reminds me of Playmobil. Thanks KDM. It is supposed to be a 74-Z (I deliberately avoided putting that in the title though ) but I decided I couldn't get the level of accuracy I would like at this size. So, imagine you see a 74-Z in the distance - parts blur together - one piece represents multiple areas, hence the V-shape outrigger - this should really protrude from under the 'nose' but I thought this way it could double as bits that hold it from the side too. I had a bit of spare time at work Thanks Brickdoctor. I agree - I would prefer them to be further forward but the only way I could figure out how to do that was to shave a stud off a 1x1 with studs on 4 sides - I'm not against that, but not until I have more spares. I tried replacing the taps with a piece of cut tube placed horizontally but the angle of the scout's hands just kept pushing it off (I might have cut it too short though ). Thanks Guys. Could you be more specific about the unnatural position please - is it the height of the arms or the back sloping legs that's the problem? Cheers Hollander. Yes, the back is too big - but I just liked it, and didn't have the heart to change it . I will try an alternative when I eventually build my Hoth speeder bike.
  23. I've said this before, but... wouldn't it be nice if we could have a TC-14 in chrome silver? It could also stand in as the silver protocol droid on the Tantive IV in ANH - the name escapes me.
