But, but, Chewbacca didn't want to leave Yavin IV in the first place. It's possible that Han had a change of conscience in going back but maybe Chewie just mithered him. Also if Han was flying the Falcon surely that means Chewie shot Vader. - Of course he deserves a medal. Sorry to go off topic. EDIT: Or do I mean Chewie shot the Tie Fighter that crashed into Vader - it's been a while

I'm a bit like that, which is why I've not got the Death Star yet - keep spending my money on other Lego bargains. But do you mind me asking where you got a bargain on the DS?

[MOC] Republic Acclamator I-class assault ship
Praiter Yed replied to Hollander's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I agree with the constructive comments above regarding the underside of the hull extending too far, the thickness of the edge and the inclusion of the cannons. I don't know how difficult it would be for you to alter these things - I imagine the 1 stud thickness could be the most troublesome. Nevertheless, this is still a good quality build. -
IMO the StarSpeeder 3000 looks like what it is, a box designed to seat as many people as is safe and possible with enough added detail to the exterior to make it resemble a spacecraft. It's a testament to the ride designers that it turned out as good as it did but I'm surprised to learn that it has found it's way into the EU - I can only assume that this vehicle is the Star Wars equivalent of a Volvo 240. But I digress... Another excellent mini as usual Legostein with some great techniques. I must agree with KDM that the half plate solution is brilliant.

REVIEW: 30004 Battle Droid on a STAP
Praiter Yed replied to Lord Of The Fries's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Nice review of this little set Lord of the Fries. I think this is pretty good for what it is and even better if you get it for free! I also have to agree with Brickdoctor on wing size and changing the design in the first place. Although I have a feeling that the droid BP design uses a connection that is now considered to be illegal... 1x1 brick with studs on 4 sides into the side of a technic 1x1 brick. If I'm correct this could explain the re-design (I'm not 100% sure though - does anybody know?). -
Just got petrol from Tesco Express and they're 'offering' some small Lego sets for £1.50 when you spend £20 on fuel. They didn't look so good to me but I only had a quick look. EDIT: I think this is an ESSO promo Found more details on Brickset...

A popsicle imo would be more 'amusing' due to the freezing temperature on Hoth but I suppose you could argue that for the same reason Leia would like a nice hot drink .

Somehow the torso of the Celebration Han doesn't seem to work that well - maybe there's too much going on? It's still a must have figure for me though and a cheap(ish) way to get hold of the new leg print. That sounds like a good call to me. Probably one of TLGs little jokes.

Looking awesome! Now eagerly anticipating the interior...

[REVIEW] 7962 Anakin Skywalker and Sebulba's Podracers
Praiter Yed replied to parchioso's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the review . I have to agree that this looks to be the best of the current wave. However, due to finances I limit myself to only collecting OT sets so I won't be buying this. -
Thanks Dark Dragon - I was hoping the Dry Rub would take some of the hassle out of applying decals but it sounds like I'll be ordering more water-slide paper. I'm tempted to buy just one sheet and have a play so I will certainly share my experiences. Now I need to decide whether to order white or clear

These are really cool! Although you have not based them on the TV show imo a lot of them look similar to the characters in the series - maybe this is down to good casting or maybe the relative simplistic style of minifig faces allows my imagination to fit them to the respective characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and am contemplating reading the books (don't think I can wait 'til next year to find out what happens next!). There's too many good ones here for me to list favourites

More of the same from me (WARNING: contains double entendre)...

A nice amusing scene. The grill and Death Star shrub are highlights for me.

I don't think I've seen an MOC based on concept art before - good idea. This looks really good and is also very nicely presented.

A while ago I tried my hand at customisation using water-slide decals with mixed results. I recently decided to give it another try and decided to buy more materials. I found this supplier who also do a ink-jet/laser printable dry rub decal paper (they claim to be the only supplier in Europe). This sounds brilliant to me, but I wondered if anybody here has any experience with it, and if so, is it any good? EDIT: Apologies if anybody has already asked about this, I did a search and didn't find anything.

MOC's at Star Wars Event Legoland Germany 2011
Praiter Yed replied to legopapa's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I can't think of anything to say except that both the Tatooine and Death Star Trench are stunning creations. -
When you said you would be doing some OT minis this is not what I expected . It's refreshing to see a 'mini' take on some OT architecture. At first glance this looks incredibly simple, but when you look closer and notice the angles and the strange position of some of the studs you realise something quite complex is happening underneath. I always enjoy looking at your instructions and this time I had to give them extra scrutiny before the secrets of your Massassi Temple were finally revealed.

Maybe 7879 will be the template for future play-sets. Imagine this; A fold out structure consisting of a bunch of random archways in a mixture of tan and dark tan. In the centre of one section a Han in carbonite display to the right of him a jail and to the left a droid torture chamber. In the opposite section is Jabbas throne and area for the band. I feel like I'm forgetting something... Oh, the Rancor pit, well that could just go above Jabba. Minifigs: Han Solo, Boush, Oola, EV9D9, Jedi Luke, Bib Fortuna, Some random character nobody has even noticed & Jabba Playfunctions: Melt R2 D2s feet in the droid torture chamber, opening and closing doors in the jail, crane function Rancor claw for grabbing Luke and Oola, sliding throne, something that rotates - kids just love rotating stuff.

Look on the brightside - at least his minfig could end up being in scale. -
Let me put this into perspective ; I would be making an 'in-flight' display with the X-Wings in front so the scale would not be so important.
