Simply stunning! Although I like the photo-effects I feel that picture '10' in your flickr really gives an idea of the amount of time and effort you must have put into this creation. It would be nice to see an image of the whole MOC.

Wow, amazing - on first glance I actually thought it was LDD. The addition of some figures would be nice though which leads me to suggest the name; Minus Populace .

BrickWarriors Grand Opening!
Praiter Yed replied to Thrash's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Wow, I could certainly use some of these items. I'll be keeping an eye out for whoever ends up selling these in the UK. -
Maybe I'm not active enough in this forum, maybe I should have included a reference image, maybe nobody knows who it is? Thank you both. It's still early days for my customising, I've left these decals unvarnished because the varnish I was recommended with my paper purchase messed up on my first attempt. Maybe I did it wrong - they went all speckly and parts of the decal became transparent. I need to keep experimenting, hopefully my next post will be an improvement.

That is pretty good playset dartheling. I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar layout when/if Lego ever revisit Cloud City.

A very nice Mini Super Star Destroyer Tomcat RIO and vastly improved with the new bridge section. You could try replicating 10221 further by removing the dark grey section and displaying the bounty hunter scene .

Glad you three appreciated it . Thanks for the link KDM I never thought Vader's 'Nooooooo' in ROTS was particularly bad, but when you listen to it out of context, it sounds awful. Does anybody know if James Earl Jones has voiced the new 'nos'? They sound really bad too. I've been wondering if Vader might say 'No' to anything else but I doubt I'll shoot any more even if I think of them.

Thanks for the review Ritz Brick You know, you should have really waited for Christmas to open this but I'm glad you didn't. Mine should arrive next week and for me too the black astromech was a big draw but I also have to have the Santa Yoda . A printed rebel pilot helmet would be a bonus but given the choice of a blank one or an existing print, I'd prefer the blank one. I don't find the price too offensive, 25 gbp for 8 minifigs and a small amount of parts is ok but when you compare it to 18 gbp for the city advent calendar you get a rough idea of how much Lucas Tax we're paying.

Nice one Si-mocs I've still got loads of these to shoot but have just lost the will to do them . However, I couldn't resist this topical jibe... >>>Click Here<<<.

Well if you've built a real one I'll believe you . I'm sure it is down to the combination of things I mentioned. Largely the LDD lines, I think these cause a very sharply defined edge plus as fallenangel mentions above I think a lot of the sphere shape is lost in the wing pylons so that's another big reason why I'm failing to see a sphere. If you build another Tie Variant and I still see a cube then maybe I'll need a trip to the opticians .

This is very frustrating, I suppose SW is George Lucas' brain child and he can do what he wants with it. But what I find odd and slightly hypocritical is that the guy loves film and film history, didn't he complain quite a few years back when they colourised a Marx Brothers (or was it Laurel and Hardy) film? I'm sure I read that he wanted his kids to see the 'original' version. I only watch the original versions of the OT, the dodgy special effects are part of the charm of the films, imho they don't detract from it one bit in some respects they add to it. The OT is of it's time, it is a huge part of film history and if it can't be left alone it should at least be made available to us on Blu-Ray in it's original form. Kids films don't really need fantastic special effects to enthral, scare and amuse the target audience. Kids watch all kinds of badly made rubbish on TV week in and week out. I insist on watching Jason and the Argonauts whenever it's on TV - those skeletons scared the hell out my daughter to the point that she still refuses to watch it. I wonder how George Lucas would feel if Ray Harryhausen's effects were replaced with CGI shite?

Fantastic! I was thinking that it must be inspired by the ride at Disneyland, then I saw that it was . Very well done, the studs out build gives it a great texture.

WW Category 2 Entry: Saved By The Boom
Praiter Yed replied to shmails's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The explosion is brilliant and I really like the hotel and the gallows! The action has a very Spaghetti Western feel -
WW Category 3: Homestead Heroine
Praiter Yed replied to slovakiasteph's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Usually these situations don't turn out so well in a Spaghetti Western - thank goodness it all worked out fine this time. That's a nice scene and I like your little house. Good luck in the contest. -
Those are two nice little vignettes Masked Builder . The Leia/R2 one looks very effective in the close-up, down the corridor shot.

Just ordered the Character Encyclopaedia and 2 x SW Advent Calendars from Amazon. Should have the advent calendars next week - don't know if I'll be able to wait for Christmas to open all those doors

If this is a consular ship, WHERE is the ambassador?
Praiter Yed replied to lightningtiger's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This reminds me of those little sets Lego used to do like 7201 Final Duel II or 4475 Jabba's Message etc. They were cool. -
It's no small feat creating this in LDD especially for someone with your passion for illegal connections . I think it's fantastic and I like almost every part of it but I do have one pretty major issue ... I don't know if this is just the way I see it, or whether it's the way LDD renderers it (especially with the 'outlines on bricks' feature activated) but the Lowell sphere doesn't seem to work for me at this scale - all I see is a cube. Another reason could be that with the Tie Advanced a large amount of the sphere is integrated into the hull and wing pylons. Have you built the sphere in real bricks at this scale and does it work? Is it just that the electrical impulses from my eyeballs to my brain are a little off (nobody else has mentioned this so maybe that's the case)? I sort of feel bad mentioning this, especially because I think the rest of it is absolutely superb. So still a big from me.

This is great, lots to like here; the sloping/falling down building, the burnt out structure and the rocking chair are all real highlights. The way you built the tree is also very interesting. Sorry, but I don't know which bit you mean - I can't see any similarity ?

Mini Coronet (new mandalorian space yacht)
Praiter Yed replied to Legostein's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've found the design of vehicles in the CW show to be very hit & miss with some absolute shockers in there. When I saw the episode with this one though I thought it was one of the better designs, quite unusual but still with a SW feel. You done a great job of representing it in mini Lego form -
Shaun of the Dead Mini Fig
Praiter Yed replied to chuckie8646's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
That's a pretty cool minifig! I love Sean of the Dead - it's great how they managed to capture his cheerful and yet slightly confused expression (somehow). I'm not sure I would pay so much for it, but when you collect minifigs you make your own judgement on what a particular figure is worth. -
I'm a fan of Logo's 30051 mini x-wing, but yours is far superior. The hexagonal rear section is great but what I really like is how the top wing's connection doubles as the greebly area at the back. Love it

Spotted this on Brickshelf last night - beautiful! I'm reading LOTR to my daughter and she's loving it so I'll show her this (she's also getting into the Lego now ). Congratulations on the win!

WW Category 3: In Memory of Philemon I. Rowley
Praiter Yed replied to LegoDadRobb's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks, now I am a little wiser. Regarding the title graphics I don't find them too obtrusive except on the second picture where they are almost touching the cart. -
(WW Category 2) The Last Ride of the Pony Express
Praiter Yed replied to Athos's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I like the colours you have used and as mentioned above it's nice to see a 'classic' Lego style build.
