Looks very cool! I love how you used so many new pieces to give it that old classic feel.

I expect 2022 at the latest for a new castle wave, especially based off of all the castle-related things in their marketing and Legolands.

Beautiful! Are those pre-fab hulls? -
Absolutely. PG-1 is the highest LEGO will go, and even then they tone it down. There's really no way to make the entire destruction of King's Landing silly. My way of looking at it now (since let's be honest, violence is a thing in some themes like Bionicle, Castle, etc.) is if it can't generally be made lighthearted into a LEGO video game, it won't be made.

It's why we won't get a modern war-styled theme. The closest we'll get is Agents because they can spin it to be spies and outlandish cartoon villains. While one of the Ninjago figures has NVGs, we won't get people in body armor touting rifles firing at another guy. Furthest forward in time of actual warfare would be Western sets or even earlier in time of Pirates. Because then they can be silly and lighthearted or go on adventures. A full on dark fantasy theme (like The Black Company) would be my dream though.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
KotZ replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Eh, it might be too soon for those as modulars again. I think an urgent care (for minifigs, not pets this time ) is sorely needed in the line. We've got restaurants, apartments, shops, etc. Minifigures need a place their medicine! -
I think the waves for each quarter would need to be smaller (and still kept on shelves for essentially the same amount of time, even if they're not in the "right" season), but it's a cool idea, especially for foliage parts and parks for sets.

While I'm disagreeing with you on the conflict thing, that doesn't mean I don't respect your opinion. In fact, I would love more City sets of other jobs and such, since I personally don't have very many City sets and would like to expand my collection of it, or get parts to make my own MOCs. I just personally think you're statement about child's play and conflict is wrong. And yes, there is always room for improvement in sets and themes.

Heroica: Glory Amongst The Stars RPG - Game Development
KotZ replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in Heroica! The RPG!
Not really sure what you're meaning by that. Eurobricks as a whole isn't an RPG, just this subforum (which for the time being has ended). There's other subforums on here that have RPG-like building games (like the medieval themed Historica, sci-fi Andromeda's Gates, or the modern-day war game themed The Great Brick War) that allow roleplaying and building at the same time. -
Heroica: Glory Amongst The Stars RPG - Game Development
KotZ replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in Heroica! The RPG!
We're (on EB as a whole) not even close to anything of a storyline for a Heroica 2.0. Really just mechanics and hopefully playtesting. I'm working on refining some ideas tonight and hopefully will have something soon to really share. My earlier idea was (is) clunky. -
Even still, it is a form of conflict. It's just how humans work. Problem goes to finding solution, no matter what it is. It can be as simple as driving a toy car across a road and delivering mail in a pretend game or as complex as creating entire worlds. I'd say they are relevant to your earlier point of children knowing how to play pretend without conflict. They could watch a show and act out a storyline or make up new ones (same as kids do now). In regards to your mention of 20th Century City sets. Randomly, I went to 1989 on brickset for Town/City sets. Just a few are Rescue Helicopter, Utility repair lift, Coastal Rescue base, and Mobile Car Crane. Also are sets that can present conflict and issues for kids when using their imagination. Superheroes or not are irrelevant. In child's play it's extremely important, though. Using your example for a bus, kids can just drive it along on the ground. Simple, right? They can make a decision of coming into a blanket of terrain and drive around, over, or back. Conflict in a simple way. The type of conflict is irrelevant. It has to happen, allowing the child to make thinking skills.

THE PIRATE BAY IS GOING TO BE AN OFFICIAL LEGO SET!!!!
KotZ replied to Another Brick In The Wall's topic in LEGO Pirates
Maybe he'll be brought on as an official designer for a pirate line. In my opinion, the stern of the ship is too tall, but otherwise it fits in perfectly with other official sets. -
Eh, conflict is integral for play, be it violent like acting out cops and robbers (or cowboys and indians if you're older), pretending you're rescuing people from burning buildings, or pretending to cook food and not have the ingredients. Look at all the cool toys from the 80s that have become nostalgia things: Transformers, superheroes, TMNT, the list goes on and on. We can argue kids of today have less imagination, or use it less, or use it in different ways (the latter option is my opinion), but conflict has to happen in anything. It's an integral part of storytelling and playing.

If it goes into production, I wouldn't be surprised if a sci-fi one goes into production shortly after, to hit the classic themes that haven't been made in awhile. And if blacksmith is a hit, hopefully we get a new castle wave.

Yes please!

You've got a good start. I would suggest tiling the back area in order to match the cab. Adding some doors might also be a good idea, although I really do like the black lining.

This looks great so far! Quite accurate.

[MOC] The Tower of Ernst and Isabella
KotZ replied to Farseer Petriel's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This looks great! I love the details and the usage of the old torsos. Iād love to see the tower on some terrain, I think it would really elevate it. -
Heroica: Glory Amongst The Stars RPG - Game Development
KotZ replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in Heroica! The RPG!
Oh I assure you the imagination on EB is not a problem, just look through any of the Heroica quests that were run and the story arcs. The issue really is the mechanics of the game. Especially in keeping it simple and balanced. -
I'm here!

Heroica: Glory Amongst The Stars RPG - Game Development
KotZ replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in Heroica! The RPG!
We're still (if this is going to happen, which I really hope it does) in very early planning. I'm hoping I can have some actual good playtest ideas mid next month.
