Future MOCs
jorgeopesi replied to Epic Technic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Sometimes is always for me at the moment, I lost my motivation a few months ago and I don´t see anything that excites me to build, I had some hope deposited in the next new pieces... I hope this thread helps to more than one. -
I am thinking what to write but someone wrote it first. One of the worst Technic sets I have ever seen.

[MOC] Jeep Wrangler
jorgeopesi replied to Madoca 1977's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I always use technic steering parts for their robustness, turning point, axle is not visible and narrower axles but I admit that they offer less floor clearance, why did not you use them?, I mean the pieces of the 42056, 8653 or 42039, for example two pics of my current MOC. Thank you for your instructions I always learn a lot. -

Awesome MOC, 1 or 2 studs narrower would have been even better IMO. -

Tatra 4x4
jorgeopesi replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I putted one XL motor above the rear axle with the battery in the middle, I used 3 24th gears one of them with clutch because my children will break it soon without the clutch, it works fine. -

Tatra 4x4
jorgeopesi replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You can see how they work in my old tatras, I think two studs travel is enough for small scale tatras. 10x10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyiipnWu5nE or kolos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsCBj8-_Im0 -
4 years since my last tatra and a few months since I don´t build for myself so I started with something simple, a 4x4 tatra. My goals are simple, fun, easy to build and robust. The steering in tatras is the funny part to do because is almost impossible to make it perfect, mine it was... but with inverted ackerman steering , I can do three things to solve it, leave it this way because it will work, turn the steering but the chassis will be less simple or use the steering I used in my old tatras. The suspension uses rubber bricks and I don´t know yet what motor I will use and neither the look, tatra dakar or t815?.

Caterpillar Tracks
jorgeopesi replied to doug72's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That is the problem I like the most, my advice is search, test and invent different combinations, the funny part is the process and If I tell you the answer I'm taking a lot of fun, I say that because I love build tracked vehicles. This is my brickshelf page (http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=jorgeopesi), you will see a lot of tracks. -
Again another great MOC I really envy your skills.

I've done a lot more but why not share them from now on. First one the truck for carry cars and second one a RC car with ackerman steering by small linear actuator and L motor, simple and resistant constructions for a 3 years old child, he takes them everywhere and with the truck even sleeps so I need them not to be disarmed...

The Technic Confessional
jorgeopesi replied to Didumos69's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Other than that the only thing I've done is shaved a 3l stop pin to mimic the new brown ones I also did it but I don´t feel guilty at all, when I see abusive prices for parts that I can do I don´t care, another part I have done is the 11 axle. The only thing I remember and I still care it was cut a 12 axle to get one of 2 because I was lost it, it was my first set technic and I didn´t have spare parts, I don´t know if I bothered more lose the 2 axle than cut it, It was the 8848 set more than 30 years ago...- 121 replies

Purism
jorgeopesi replied to Erik Leppen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Purism for me is the whole world building with the same pieces so the difference between MOCs only depends on the person, so although I recognize the value of all MOCs I only take as a reference that of those who use only Lego parts, those are my goal and my inspiration. Is a nice thread to read full of respect and points of view .- 179 replies
