It's the anniversary EVERY year

"Would you like this set? ... all you have to do is click the support button on the right, it's free!" Wrong...

I think I read some time ago that Lucasfilm would tell TLG what SW sets to make. I am only guessing that Disney is the same. I don't know how much other input they have in what to include or not. I think that other licences are not so strict on what to produce. Of course, the designers have much more creative input for non-licenced stuff.

Green I may be, but an amphibian I am not!

Addendum to Ideas submission rules: "must be not crap"

Yoda's........ pod........ is so cute, I remember seeing it in TCW and thinking how awesome (difficult) would it be to have a set. I'm keen for that.

Just to make this clear: official photos must be officially released for us to (be permitted to) post them. On this occasion, official photos were leaked. Leaked pictures are apparently not allowed, whether they are official photos or preliminary photos or camera-phone photos of a catalogue. At least we haven't been banned from even discussing the sets this time, unlike last year, and with Nexo Knights.

Holy crap, it's $200 in Oz! Same price as the volcano helicopter, which has 400 more pieces & 4 more minifigs...

I am just thinking of the kids, aren't they usually in bed before 9? Saturday evening is a pretty good timeslot though, unless you're fighting with Dad who wants to watch the sport.

Evergreen is the wrong word these days. Either that, or once-evergreen themes are now not. No evergreen tree goes years without leaves. If TLG still refers to Castle/Space/Pirates as "evergreen" then they mean "always on our radar", not "always new sets on the shelf". The only true evergreen minifig themes these days are City, SW, Super Heroes (licence depending) & Ninjago.

What is it really violent or something? (I don't mind...)

My opinions haven't changed much since the unofficial pics, except for the TIE. Tank is okay, not a very interesting set but not bad, a few named characters so only 1. AT-ST is okay, not brilliant but 1. TIE seems undercooked, but an okay model and all generic minifigs, so 2 (or 3). U-Wing looks really ugly like 2 completely different ships were welded together, probably 0. BL for minifigs if they don't show up again next year. Shuttle looks better than it did when the detail wasn't apparent, some great minifigs but I really don't like the wings for the size & shape of the rest, maybe 1.

(I don't think this comment needs to be in a spoiler tag.) It's common for stories that take place over a number of years to have the movie be/seem like a few days or weeks. Firstly, there's the pacing of the film. Secondly, there's the age of the actors and in many cases the modern-ness of the sets/fashion etc. It may take away from the impact of the story a bit, but I think it's a fair compromise.

If only there was an Ideas set about space exploration that had a gender neutral assortment of minifigs and wasn't just representing a single country's achievements... -
Minifigs: Blacktron I Sets: Space Police I & II

These days EB has little choice but to comply when TLG/Disney requests/demands removal of leaked pics.

Too much print detail in my opinion

Wow, 1-and-done for a revival? Seems it wasn't very successful then. Rebel Combat Frigate is now on S@H for $200, Bucket Wheel Excavator is $400 and Disney Castle will be $500 when available next month (or in a few weeks). -

I'm just saying that supporter != buyer. Especially for people who aren't even Lego fans and just signed up to vote for a single project, and perhaps there are also a lot of younger users that can't afford to buy the sets they vote for. Irrespective of which project you were talking about. And to comment on that particular project, I don't understand why it has to be a "Women of NASA" bandwagon. Why does it have to be "oh look, a girl did something lots of men do, let's give her a medal"? I see it as either demeaning or divisive (depending on the source). People are people. What next, Hispanics (or whatever) of US Congress? Whites of NBA? If the project had generic (and gender neutral) minifigs with those little space builds it would be a nice Idea. Honestly I don't know (or care) who any of those people are, whether they're short/tall, black/white, male/female/other (seems you have to include that sort of thing these days), rich/poor, whatever. If it passes review and gets made I might grab it for the parts and mini-builds, but the minifigs are just going to be parted out. (Obviously if they are generic they would be yellow, and a lot of "buying this for parts" people would prefer otherwise!) It would be a nice set on face value, I disagree with the motivation behind it. It will quite possibly pass, but that remains to be seen. -

I don't think that the type of people who sign up simply to one-off support Ideas like that realise how much a Lego set would cost once it's released. They may be expecting to pick up a $50 set for $20 and therefore baulk at the purchase, so I agree, some of these projects may well have a lot of "supporters" that won't actually end up buying it. Compare that to submissions like (eg) Voltron where the non-Lego fans of the subject are likely to be toy collectors already, and probably have expensive statues, action figures and other nerd-type items, and are more likely to expect to drop a fortune on something like that. -

They are probably all oversized compared with the Falcon. -
If I want a full crack I will call a plumber, thanks.

He is also a friendly, positive guy and a very active MOCer & Eurobricks member, and is lately giving useful feedback, so I wouldn't be taking jabs at him. I'm sure we all get a bit generic sometimes when leaving feedback on eBay/Bricklink etc.
