I would not say I am totally against a new version of the Tantive IV but there are many other ships worthy of release.

I dont think that being true to detail is the most important item on their check list. Its obvious that a lot of sets are not done by true fans and thats a shame because there are a some MOC's out there that are quite amazing; but they are designed by true fans! -
Ahhh the Death Star room... Back to reality... Another benefit to using the wider shelf will be the extra space for the planet seris and some other small sets to be displayed.

very nice!

Thanks for the fast response. I think my way forward will be to use 16" shelves on the bottom level.

Apologies if this should have been under "general questions". I currently have 12" (30.5cm) wide shelves to display my UCS sets. I want to add the ISD (10030) and although the entire ship will not fit within that space, does anyone know if the base of the stand will fit within the 12" shelf width?

Your best bet is to stake out auction sites for a partial set that has those parts in it. I have been watching this specific listing for over a year checking it almost daily and they do come up from time to time. The problem when you find one is that you will still pay $300 plus for an incomplete set. Or wait until someone offers it on buy it now for a reasonable price but that almost never happens! -

Has anyone seen any information on the UCS Tie with regards to the piece count? Based on the different MOC's I have seen (if they chose to base their design off of them) this could be a very affordable set!!! -
In my opinion the proper way to do cloud city would be in modules that could be bought / released over time. In the end you could end up with a large 5k piece or greater set. Maybe run it over thre or four modules at around 1500 pcs each... But thats just my two cents...

The longer he waits the more he will get...

Cannot view...

Cloud City remake would be nice.

I will be picking this up on the next trip home. I have been in a mix up between this or the tumbler but it seems that the Slave I wins the day... Cannot wait!

I have always passed on this set because it is a play set as well as having a large box. I try to keep every box for all of my sets so that if and when I sell them off I will have them complete, so the box is an issue (found this out with the SSD box). From an investment POV I just dont see it fetching much more than $600 to $650 MISB for many years after EOL. I do believe it will be an excellent set to buy, enjoy, and sale for no loss after its gone...

This is both my favorite and most disappointing UCS set. Favorite because its the B-Wing... Disappointing because of all the aforementioned issues. The MOD with the underside added to the wings is a definate improvment but because its a B-Wing it will always look amazing to me. Just wish it could have had a bit more love from TLG prior to release.

Treated myself this year for Christmas and got a 10019 Blockade Runner, 10186 Gen Grievous, 7191 X-Wing. Screwed up and bid on two 10129 Snow Speeders and won both of them (Ooops), and as a surprise my wife got me the 75059 Sandcrawler. I planned on waiting to get the Sandcrawler until it went on sale somewhere but I was so happy to see that my wife actually got this for me that I didnt even care that she paid retail.

great review. I was on the fence and still am. I wish they would release an ultimate version of these sets that are true to the movie... I know all of the reasons they dont - but we can dream!

When I first looked at this the other day there was something that threw me off with it and I could not figure out what it was. I took a look at it with beer goggles and realized what it was. The missing texture that makes it so sleek and awesome also (to my eyes) draws my focus to the center seam. This is by no means going to change my mind that this is an amazing ship. I am just happy that I was able to figure out what my issue was.

Finally broke the $500 barrier and got the 10019 a couple of days ago. Still mixed about it but I am telling myself that if I kept waiting it would only get worse... Cheers to bloated collectors prices and my failure to purchase retail

Fireplace is neat. Santa Vader is always cool. Thanks for the post! -
I have a zip lock full of extras. Sat down one day to see what I could do with them and quickly realized that I am not that creative!

Lobot - The 10k pre-order on that price range sounds like a great idea. They could probably go as high as 20k and sell out the pre-orders... cavegod is on the money with his point on the size of idea sets, not that I wouldnt love to see his AT-AT as a set. I dont understand why TLG has not done something based on Anio's speeder bike, or for that matter why I havent bought the instructions and built it myself...
