In short; if guys somehow don't take an interest in trucks or cranes, are they 'unmanly'? If so, why? If girls like tanks and bulldozers, does that make them any less of a woman? If so, why?
-
Well, if they prefer this: Over this: Then we can pretty much rule out color as a factor. The damn tank is beige. But the color thing is only tangential. My main point is still that seeing technology as something inherently for men is bollocks.

I didn't say technic sets should be made pink or purple, I said that gender based marketing is pretty much nonsense. Like pink razors marketed to women; it's the same hair you're shaving, and that pink color has no functional difference. Same goes for technic models; why wouldn't they be interesting for women?

The whole "technic is for men" marketing thing is megablocks. Take Jennifer Clark for example ( http://www.genuinemodels.com ). She built the most amazing and intricate models before power functions, before many of us ever built a serious technic model. The only reason we don't see many more female technic builders is because they are actively discouraged to get into it. Marketing campaigns like these certainly don't help.

It's still Lego. Don't like it? Modify it. Adding those extra wheels would be at the expense of other parts, like the pneumatics or other new parts.

A: So, that leaves the remotes. What are our options? B: Radio tech, which is very expensive, has tons of different regulations in nearly every different country, and it sucks batteries. A: It's a damn toy. Most of our stuff isn't meant to be used outside anyway. Infrared it is. C: What about cell phones? Like with an app? A: it's 2008. We can't count on every kid having their own cell phone, and the battery-efficient signal tech the SBrick uses hasn't been invented yet. There you go.

Fiddlesticks. Found it. Next goals: £100.000 Stair top design of the brick (can we get a look of what the non-stairtop design looks like?) £140.000 a profile designer to create remote control profiles £160.000 chiptuning features I would really like that profile designer. Hey, SB guys; now that the initial funding has come together, putting the stretch goals (using that exact term) on top of the kickstarter page should be a priority. Those are some really worthwhile features.- 780 replies

So, what are the stretch goals on this baby? I halfway remember something about an interface designer, but the kickstarter page doesn't seem to mention what happens when more money is raised.- 780 replies

[MINI] Tumbler

Really impressive. -
Thanks to all of you for your great replies, makes it all that much sweeter :) Maybe soon, maybe later. This is supposed to be a proof of concept. Now that I figured it that it indeed can be done, the next step would be to make it even smaller and better. One L motor. One XL motor. That's all. None taken. I tried to go with a brickbuilt exterior (instead of just plates), but that would have meant at least a kilo more bricks. Would've hurt performance, you see. That's really awesome to hear :D Finding the right music can be pretty tough and time-consuming, but really finishes the job. Won't they have seen it on the frontpage already? Also, I'm not sure if the rules allow posting the same creation on multiple forums.
