  1. They probably had some leftovers from the 2025 mario kart set.
  2. If you don't like the model, you can choose not to buy it.
  3. You may think you've given a helpful response, but the tone makes it sound rude and demanding.
  4. Gemini is now inserting ads within users posts. This is getting out of hand.
  5. New Elementary reported that the one-way cutch has a nearly 90-degree backlash, so how useful it is in shifting mechanisms remains to be seen.
  6. I haven't really dealt with the problem you describe- typically, I find that older bricks tend to stick more as plastic softeners evaporate/degrade. When a technic construction falls apart my solution is to improve the construction itself. Axles with stop are a good alternative to using bushes to keep an axle from moving, for example.
  7. I'm glad I can inspire other builders with what I make. If you have any questions on how certain things are done, I'll be glad to help where I can. At the time of filming, the MOC itself was already three years old. Took me a while to get to it. I'd like to quote a certain Kevin Perjurer- "I hate literally every step in the filmmaking process. The only thing I hate more than making a film is not making a film." This may not be as motivational as I'd like, but most of it is hard work, hoping it'll be worth it in the end. Seeing all your comments is definitely worth the trouble, though. I love using camera vehicles to get views that are otherwise hard or impossible to get. Apparently, I've been building them for at least 16 years. Since I typically film alone they aren't remote controlled- just switch on the power and they travel along in a straight line. Then I try to steer the vehicle I'm filming in front of the camera. It's hard to find a suitably smooth surface that's big enough to film on, though. Also; place the lens of your camera as low as possible. This really helps selling the scale of what you're filming. Thank you! It was a lot of trial and error. The hook of the truck can be used to move the bar at the platform up and down, which is linked to the stoppers / chocks with knob wheels. I'm afraid that's going to take more time than I have. If you have questions about a specific part I can shoot some more pictures or elaborate, though. Though it can't hurt to check out my Rebrickable page, maybe there's something there you'll like. It's all free. Thank you! The travelling boom actually helps keep the platform at a shallower angle, which helps the car not falling off. I must admit I was pushing the limits of taste a bit, but glad it came out right. There were only a few parts available in magenta, figuring out how to put them in a cohesive colourscheme was quite a puzzle. To anyone I haven't adressed personally- thank you very much for your comments! They are a real motivation to keep doing what I'm doing. I can't thank you enough.
  8. I love Lego's "Car transporter gang" scale of cars. However, they simply have to be motorized, like my Porsche 911 from ages ago. Another fun bit to figure out was a car transporter that could load a car completely by remote control, without any manual help. This type of car typically doesn't have much ground clearance, so that had to be accounted for. Also, securing the car also had to happen automatically. I managed to find a compact solution I'm very pleased with. The video also includes some "making of" bits, with the specific camera vehicles used to film everything. Hope you like it! 9. I'm not convinced. This is a 2D image. An impressive one, but still 2D. Realising a fully functional 3D model with very specific constraints about parts use, buildability, functionality, structural integrity and so on is an entirely different game. It's not even the same league. It's not even the same sport.
  10. It's kind of nuts how fast these things have become surface-level convincing. Many AFOLs will be able to spot inconsistencies with panels and construction, but your average lego enthusiast likely won't.
  11. They believe folks won't buy the instructions if they clarify too much. So this topic is basically an advertisement.
  12. I've seen a grownup build a technic set, someone who hadn't built anything since age 12. It was so frustrating to see him at it- this was an intelligent man, well-educated, did some DIY in his spare time- and he still had trouble distinguishing certain parts, and getting some of fiddly constructions right. Having differently coloured parts helped him immensely. If Lego can sell a set to someone who typically doesn't buy or build Lego sets, that's a big win for them. If they never buy a second one because they get frustrated- that's a potential customer lost forever. You may not like it, but it makes business sense.
  13. You sure ? (All sets from 1985 and 1987, respectively).
  14. Straight-8 engine, just like the original.
  15. That base layer is a tremendous waste of parts.
  16. It has been in production all this time, just not in this particular color.
  17. Somehow I think it's unlikely they squeezed the previous All-in-one control+ hub in there*, but they're not advertising separate components on the box. Frustrating. *rear wheels seem to be using a diff
  18. Here's a counterclaim: Lego says Technic is one of their top 5 performing themes in their 2025 financial report. It has been a consistent moneymaker for decades. You may not like what they're doing with technic and licensed sets, but it's certainly making them money.
  19. I'm gonna blow your mind: It's because it makes them money. Glad to help!
  20. Technic, Axle 4.5L with Stop : Part 7784 | BrickLink Can't definitively answer why- I imagine they thought it was useful to have. I certainly do.
  21. my grandpa started taking notes from my newborn and drank some milk today.
  22. I can see at least two reasons: During marketing research they figured out that Rollses and Bentleys aren't as attractive to the target audience compared to other brands Rolls & Bentley don't think Lego's audience is worth marketing to.
  23. putting a finger on a profile, holding it there and swiping either to the left or to the right seems to do it. If I remember correctly.
