  1. Cool Airstreamer!!!
  2. I think you're right with the assymetry... i even think it goes a lot further.. I think that most Lego-builders are a certain kind of people that like symmetry and that is why there might be some comments on this version.... I agree with the comments, but do not know how to get more symmetry in it, without having to order lots and lots of parts.. Building entrance 4 next to entrance 3 seems easier than it is.. on the inside, the entrances are a lot wider, and they would take too many space.. But there might be a way, i'm still thinking how to do it.. because i have to admit that this building is just not IT....On the other hand..having another symmetric building might not satisfy me......The trees are on the backside... the two dogs that come with the FB sets are continuosly watering the trees so they might turn yellow in a while... My concerns about the opening on the left are now gone after your positive remark... it is a kind of alley so they can reach the place behind the building and as said, you can wash the firetrucks there.. The interior is not schocking, that is why i didn't show it.. but i'll take some pictures and post 'm... ! I used almost only the original parts....so don't expect too much of it.. i'll have to change that into the Dutch flag.. this one is red white blue... so modding it won't be too extreme....
  3. Thanks for your comments... Point in most cases is that i have only the parts available from the two sets..And with those parts, i'll have to do the job.. And doing so, i ran into some nasty things, limits, that i had to deal with somehow.. The inside of the garagedoor is way wider than it seems outside, so that is why i put a roof in between the garage doors.. The opening to the left is to create a place where the trucks can be washed.. that is why it is open as well. And to keep more or less the same facade as the garage doors, i decided to leave it open. I agree i should do something with the 1932-part of the building.. maybe i'll cover both of the 'big windows' with it... There is still some work to be done, but without purchasing a lot of extra parts, it is hard to make other arrangements.. I thought it would be easy, but it would only be easy if i would only widen the original building with an extra window on both sides.. so 2 x 10 studs... well, i'll consider the comments and will see what i will do!! It is the hardest building to MOD from the last 6 modulars.. the other 5 were pretty easy......
  4. It is a kind of funny that you mention that...normally i would build only symmetrical modulars, but this set was different.. Because it is so great, i wanted to use almost all parts of both sets... Other XL Modular MODs are only 16 studs wider or so.. but now i thought it would be better to make something different this time. That is why i made it asymmetrical.. But i see your point.. anyway it is good enough for me to leave it like this! Thanks for you comment!!
  5. Here is my latest Modular MOD. It is the sixth modular that i made an XL version of. I take two sets of the original and then MOD it into one large building. Hope you like it. The interior is also adapted to the larger space inside that is available....
  6. This is very true.. Last weekend someone asked me if i had already built the PR. He still had it in the box.. I told him it was fun, but the second thing was that the building itself wasn;t very big...so i guess there are a lot of people noticing this.. I think TLG should not raise their profits on sets more and more each year...or else the bubble will pop.....just like it happened in the past.. So i hope TLG makes it up with us next year!!!
  7. This is so nice.. i wish it was a set, i would buy it... You did a wonderfull job in creating something special out of a normal house.. !!! There is nothing i do not like about it!! Superb!!
  8. Wow, this is really nice.. i immediately recognized this as a station.. love the architecture and indeed that glass/wood panelling looks great !!! Well done!
  9. A Parisian Hotel / Restaurant like this would also look pretty awesome....
  10. Nice use of that 7939 nose piece.... i agree the nose was slightly too long, but now it looks better!!
  11. A bit grey, but it is very realistic!! It will look great in between other modulars.... ! Really nice building!!
  12. A 'Rainbow to the stars' ...
  13. Really well done!!!
  14. Oh yeah, this is just photoshop , to show what the main lines are gonna be.. but there will be only one black door in the front, the other 'hole' in the facade gets windows...the tree will be left out and the lamppost will be mirrored to the other side.. But then, the second floor..Both parts with 1932 on them will have to be put together so they look like one large bow. I'm also thinking of raising the bell/tower a bit.. and i still have to figure out what to do with the red tiling between the two windows on the second floor.. now i photoshopped grey tiles between them, but maybe it looks better when they are darkred too.... And that is just the facade......i think i'll need to order some parts later this week......just to work out the best look... We'll see....! But thanks for you comment anyway!!
  15. It looks nice, although i like the original also a lot... I would like to widen the cafe corner, but it is way too expensive to buy a second set to to that... Instead of that i scored a second Fire Brigade yesterdayevening, to make one building out of two sets.. now i have to figure out what would look the best.. This extra FB set makes that my modular collection now has 15 modular sets....
  16. Wout, you could consider to sell your Market Street, and with the money, you could buy 3 of the new Modular sets that are available now.... It is just what you want.. keep the Market Street, or have fun in owning, building and showing three newer modulars....! Just an idea... When you still have the box and the buildinginstructions, you will sell it easily... Greetz, LegoSjaak
  17. ...GREAT..... !!! It looks sooo good... you could add some decals with first or second class on the cars..... But the nose is very well done.. looks smooth and also the scale is perfect!!! Compliments!!
  18. Ouch....it is hard to see the small lights on the ticket-box... they are not symmetrical... i Always have problems with that...haha.. If i would buy this set (but i don't), i would redo the lights....haha...
  19. Hmm..i see a lot of people that are either happy with the reindeer being brickbuilt, or either not happy, not being it a new mould.. It is the same as the nosepiece from the new high speed citytrain.. I think it is hard for TLG to make a good decision in this matter.. i think it is about 50/50 so then they rather choose for not making a new mould and keeping the price a bit lower maybe?? I also favour the brickbuilt reindeer, although one mould would look better.. But is is Lego...and where do we end up when everything becomes a singel mould... Within 50 years we will have a 10-piece wintervillage.. 5 minifigs, 2 animal-moulds and 3 pieces to make a complete building.. so that is why i favour the brickbuilt versions.. Also for parts it is better.. now the reindeer can be recycled in a MOC...else it would be hard.... Anyway i like the set enough to buy it...well, i have to, as i have all other wintervillage-sets....haha..!
  20. You mean a Town Hall like this...
  21. Looks good enough to add it to my wintervillage...!
  22. Really nice layout, love the details and the size of it!!
  23. This face made me throw up...
  24. It could be december this year.....
