  1. Hello Dr. Lego, it seems that there has te be made a big leap, but i put in a stud high step, so a minifig never has to take a step bigger than one stud.. You can see the step in dark grey, just behind the black fence... but is hard to see it on these pictures.. Anyway.. i cleared that 'problem' already!! I'm pretty proud of the kitchenette... it worked out well..and first i wanted a door to the sleeping area, but i took it away, to leave the whole apartment a bit open...! Now i should tile the whole floor...but there aren't hardly any tiles left.. so i would cheat if i say this was built out of two sets.. so that is why i leave it without tiling... ! Thanks for the compliments!! Fun whow people interpretate things different... ! But i'm happy with it..only the pictures should have been taken without flash... that looks way better....!!Anyway thanks again for your idea! I was also thinking about an extra second floor... but what to do with the other parts.. there are so many... so that is why i built this.. maybe i change something later..but for now it is okay.... Hope to put it in the modular layout next thursday!!Greetz, LegoSjaak Great layout.. Siwssbrick.. i like the extra height, but i would not put it next to the Green Grocer, due to the color... maybe you can put it next to the Pet Shop...? I modded my PR, but keeping everything original is also cool... I did that for years but now i like expanding buildings or MOD them a bit!! They look good with the original baseplates!! Nice trees too! ...This 'waiting-feeling' is also a special kind of feeling.. it adds some extra magic to the set!! Have a fun build in advance and enjoy your PR!! Hope to see pictures when its ready.. do you have other modulars to put it next to?Greetz, LegoSjaak
  2. GCO, you mean like this?:
  3. That is not so difficult.. the firemen have a cake, and then the money-thing gets robbed.. Spiderman catches two thieves, and suddenly he thinks of the third thief.. and then he finds out that the third thief ate the cake..so.. well that.. haha..!Yeah that's pretty cool!
  4. Great pictures and love to see the Parisian Restaurant appear in more and more layouts... What is it with Lego and cats...i have the feeling that there are many Lego Afols that do have a cat as well.. why is that.. is it because a category of people do like Lego (Afol) and do love it to be at home and make it cosey with building and displaying Lego, and so have a cat that gives a certain cosey feeling as well?? Personally i do not like cats.. all cats from our neighbourhood seem to use my frontgarden as a toilet, and in fall, when i use my leaf-blower, i suck in the dead tree-leaves and now and then some cat-shit is sucked and shredded in as well...and i can tell you.that smell awful and disgusting.. But the layout is great!
  5. Well.. if i'm ready, i'll fit it in the rest of the modular street.... i own all 9 modulars, and an extra Pet shop and the Town Hall is an XXL version...so...it should look good! Total of 12 modulars..on this pictures the Town Hall is still the normal width.....Hope to take some pictures soon of the complete modular block!..
  6. Looks great.. there are a lot of bricks in those modules... must be getting pretty heavy now! It is fun to see a scenery i would never create, as i'm living in the Netherlands, and we do not have any scenery's like that.. but i love the detail in all modules... ...makes me happy on Blue Monday! 7. Hi all, i think you guys are right... my idea was, that the second floor was the living space of the cook.. he could go upstairs to his own appartment and then go downstairs to his own private patio, but it does not look 100%. When i took the pictures, i saw that it was looking a bit crappy... There are bricks left, and i think that extending the recess to the first floor could be done.. I'll just give it a try, and i like the idea... I could also extend the 'second' patio a bit, so it could be reached from the first floor via the french balcony... but GCO's. Sins, Timmyc's, and the Jersey Brick Guy's comment is for me the most likely.....I'm really happy with the bar.. i think it worked out pretty well.. and remember, this is all made out of only 2 Lego 10243 sets.. nothing else...well, except for the 16 x 32 baseplate.... Thanks, Sin, for bringing up the idea.. it seems logical to but a bar there, but i did not come up in my head.. so credits to you! The front of the groundfloor worked out pretty well.. i narrowed one of the original windows by 6 to 4 studs wide.. Sadly there weren't enough dark blue curtains on the inside for 5 windows, but that's okay for me... So, work to do tonight... but when i look at the sparebricks, there are possibility's.... i'm at work now, so i have to wait untill i'm home and the kids are in bed.. ... but okay... Thanks for the comments! Greetz, LegoSjaak
  8. I took your idea and made a bar in the recess of the dining room.. here ae some pics of the almost ready creation! Greetz LegoSjaak
  9. That is a good idea... i already built a stove to sit by and maybe a can make a bar out of the spare bricks... well see.... ! Thanks for the idea!!
  10. Progress so far on the ground floor...
  11. Yes, i leave it there.. tonight i'll start with the ground-floor restaurant-area... maybe make it a bit deeper, and for the rest, we'll see what happens when building....
  12. it looks reaaly good, although it might not look as good as your MOC's but okay, i have to start somewhere...
  13. Yesterday's progress on my wider version of the restaurant: the interior will be changed a bit, depending on the leftover bricks from the restaurant itself.... the attick might get a small kitchen as well.....so far only built with the bricks from both sets....Greetz, LegoSjaak
  14. I really think they will.. propose to send the yellowed ones to them.. But i do not think they do want you to sent them..They will try to keep you satisfied.. and a few white tiles wont hurt The Lego Group!
  15. I did not notice that...but if i were you, i would contact Lego and they will sure be replaced!Greetz, LegoSjaak
  16. Well, have fun then and hope to see some pictures after you've built it and put in in your layout or modular-street!!I will start modding tonight....will start with the second floor and then expand the rest of the building.. will need another 16 x 32 baseplate... should be somewhere in the attic...!!
  17. I'm really sorry for the aussies amongst us.... i ordered my second 10243 today, at about 9.00 hours..and it will be delivered tomorrow between 11.30 and 13.30 hours.......no shippingcosts.......
  18. Great vehicles has been brought up for commercial reasons... Collect them all.... well..that does make sense.... !!
  19. might even have enough space to write 'Prince Albert' ..... I'm still considering what to do.. made another drawing concerning the roof.. The first care is the front.. i will re-do the back with the leftovers... The longer i look at it, the earlier i would like to start.. the second 10243 set might be delivered this saturday..or..even tomorrow..Dutch postals are really quick!! ....I think i will widen it with 16 studs... the windows on the second floor are 8 studs wide.. so i might reproduce them twice.. Still have a long way to go...also the inside should be modified thoroughly... !! do'nt need two kitchens... and so on.. ! greetz, LegoSjaak
  20. I just ordered my second set, as the status turned into 'Available' this morning.... Here is what i want to modify.... and this is how it might look like in the end... I also would like to make it somewhat higher... but that depends on the sparebricks, after making it wider... i think i can make it about 2 bricks higher.... Hopefully my second set is delivered before the weekend starts...!!! Greetz, LegoSjaak
  21. That is exactly why i sold my 7897 set last month....it wasn't even 'static' in my layout....!
  22. That's pretty awesome.. love the colors and you had some very new ideas!!
  23. Cool video of a really nice train!!
  24. Now that i'm busy building the Parisian Restaurant, i have to figure out how i fit in this set... Also due to my XXXL Town Hall, room is getting scarcer and scarcer...... the first picture shows the extra large Town Hall, and the second picture shows the layout before expanding the Town Hall...
  25. You did some quick building.... Parisian Restaurant already complete.....mine is still in the box in front of me... i'm actually too tired to open it up en start building.....looks great!
