Due to the June release, does anyone think we'll start seeing these next month? I remember picking up the Hobbit sets in early November.

Seeing the Roman commander . . . I'm kicking myself for not trying extra hard to get the Roman solider :( This series looks great!- 1,076 replies

Somewhat late to the discussion, but re; polybags: I am one of the unfortunate ones who can never find them, as they are always out of stock. If new polybags are released I'd hope Lego ships sufficinet quantities. As much as I wanted a Mirkwood Elf, I wasn't not going to pay inflated ebay prices.

I believe these will be released in June. so except to start seeing them appear in May.

Idk why, but these theme has been a roller coaster for me. When first announced I was excited. Then disappointed after seeing the pictures. But now I'm excited for these sets. All are a must buy. The forest ambush is great - pieces and price wise - to army build. I'm not too keen on the color style for the "good" guys, but I'll learn to like it. The "bad" guys look great.

Pictures look great. I'm really excited for the minifigs in this wave. Sad, however, about the lack of army builders. I'm still waiting to build up my Gonordian soldiers :) All sets are MUST buys; however, I am not sure I'll buy multiples of each set. I really don't want more Legolas, Gimil, and Aragorns.

Well that's unfortunate. I thought there was an earlier discussion about them showing up at the (Germany?) toy fair this weekend. Anticipation is killing me. Oops - I read your post wrong. Sorry

So the consensus is that we will be getting pictures tomorrow?

Looking at the pictures, I'm noticing the dragon army's appearence is different as well. I like that actually.

So that means the new LOTR wave will be released in Spring? Interesting that we got pictures of Castle before LOTR.

I couldn't agree more! These sets look great, and I can't wait for them to start showing up. New pieces, new shields . . . and is that a new helmet for the Red faction leader!?!?!?!? Us Castle fans got spoiled this year (LOTR and Castle). Keep'em coming Lego. Nevermind, its not a new helmet its the wizard's staff. I forgot to ask, does anyone know when these sets are to be released?

I'm surprised they didn't replace the two orcs for two Pirates of Umbar. It would have made the set more appeal.

General Magma - I really like your ideas, especially the minifigure assortment. Hopefully it pans out.

The new shield design on the Cosair ship looks good :)

I have a source* as well that has told me LOTR/HOBBIT have sold very well. (*hint that source is my wallet) Can't we just appreciate that we are NOW getting LOTR/HOBBIT sets, and not worry about the possibility of future waves.

Thank you for the review. Wolfpack was one of my favorites. That Commercial! Wow, brought back some great memories.

This is an interesting topic, as my wife and I were just talking about this. I have no idea what I'm going to do once we have kids. Right now, whenever my nephews or niece come by, and I am not home, I make sure and ask my wife to make sure they don't get into my Lego room. I'm pretty selfish about it. Whenever we have a large get together over, I'll put out my older Lego piece for the kids to play with.

USA Today Video/Article on LEGO investing
Shroffy123 replied to legotrader's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hi all, I apologize if its inappropriate to post stuff like this, or if it is in the wrong forum, but I always love finding amazing news stories about this hobby we all enjoy so much. I'm not sure if many of you have heard about this story, but LEGO makes up for a young kid's lost Jay minifig. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/09/luka-apps_n_2434781.html It makes me want to go out right now and spend 100s of dollars on LEGO sets. -
Exciting, but expensive, year for Lego :) sorry, but what does UCS stand for? :/

Interesting post, and I appreciate your insider perspective. We all understand that LEGO is targeted to children; however, why does that automatically mean a good product needs to be sacrificed? What struck me most from your post was "I honestly don't give a damn how bad (castle sets) are." Are they really that bad? I'm excited for this wave - any new castle is ALWAYS a good thing. But if you've actually seen and held this catalog, and claim they are bad - well that's just discerning. . . . just as long as the minifigs don't look like the Jelly Bean Knights.
-
Yes it would have been nice if they included some gondorian soldier army builders

Could you provide any additional details? E.g., the type of helmet the "goodies" have, as well as the "badies."

Sets look great, with a June release we may start seeing these sets late April? Only downside, as with all licensed themes, fleshie and redundant figs.
