  1. Wow, I just need to keep looking at this pictures. These sets look so amazing. I wonder why they were never released, or why a lot of the elements weren't introduced in actual. Specifically the many different torso prints, the shields, weapons, and colored breast plates. But you know, it is nice that some of these elements are starting to appear.
  2. Great find! I really like the civilian sets. It is a shame it took Lego almost 30 years to finally put one out. The castles, they look okay, but nothing special. A lot of the prints look great! I'm surprised they were never released. Also, I like the crown, I would be happy if they release a crown like that in the future. I agree with OP, the first Orcs' fortress looks great, should've released that one :)
  3. The Crownie King, prior to getting the nice robe torso, had the viking blue torso.
  4. I have to disagree, the crownies are one of the better factions. The overall sets, designs, and color scheme are not boring. Blue and Grey, perfect color combination. Now if you want a boring faction, it is the skeletons.
  5. I don't think the norm for Lego is the norm anymore. MMV was a huge success. Catering to AFOLs is smart for lego, as we most likely will buy multiples of a particular set (if not all in a wave). Also, given the success of Lego financial, I'm sure they are more willing to try new things. Also, this theme has a lot of potential, and it isn't like Lego to end a line prematurely. I'm sure this theme will last for another year or two, with the addition of a new faction. Remember back to Castle theme, a new factions were brought in.
  6. Amazing build, and welcome to the forum. This MOC looks excellent!
  7. I agree with you too. I think the blacksmith's allegiance is to the Dragon Knights. Look at the breastplate too, its a darker grey, not the light grey that the Lion Knights have. Just a thought. Its kind of cool knowing that civilian part of life extends to the Dragon KNights.
  8. I purchased two Prison Tower Rescues, and both Knight Bardings were fine. However, it was the King's barding that was pinkish in King's Castle for me
  9. The new pictures present additional great new details. The Dragon Knight has a new breastplate design, new faces amongst the mini-figs. I'm liking these sets the more pictures I see. June can't come quick enough.
  10. The new pictures look great. I'm loving the new grey colored hawk visor helmet. So many new pieces and molds. I the horse designs are amazing too. I am just hoping that the August date isn't a certain. Hopefully, as previous posters have mentioned, we'll get them in the states by June. Fingers crossed. New Castle sets, and POTC, this is going to be an expensive summer . . . totally worth it.
  11. I noticed this too. I hope it fits for the castle swords. But I am betting against it. The size looks the same as the PoP sheath, which sadly didn't fit the castle swords. Nonetheless, its a awesome piece!
  12. Wow these sets look amazing. Two new horse designs; including a grey colored horse. The battle axe, dragon knight bard and shield, new sword design. This is going to be an expensive lego year :/ :)
  13. I've been searching Ebay for Viking ship 7018. Way too expensive, the prices (MISB) range from 170-220.00$!!! I'd like to get a used one, but I'm afraid the sails won't be too good. Anyways, I just got Castle 7009, specifically for the Crownies horse barding.
  14. I'm not a big fan of fleshies either. But a cool trick, use a yellow sharpie to color the faces, and replace the hands with any extra yellow hands you have.
  15. I like how all of you placed your factions. I'm impressed with Dale's 1500 minifigs, wow. I only have 300 or so. Nonetheless my is as follows: Crownies - 32 Soldiers, they are the "Good" guys, the main army against the "evil" factions. They are well-fund through trade with the dwarves, and the far east. Imperials - 14 soldiers, (no guns, or cannons, only swords and pikes). Allied with the Crowines, they are essentially the naval branch of the crownies. Dwarves - 8 soldiers, they are allied with the Crownies due to economic trade with them. Forestman - 9 Soldiers, I consider them Rangers, they are allied with the Crownies. Essentially their scouts. Hobbits - 8, the Crownies watch over them, they are fighters, carrying rocks and daggers. New Lion Knights - 21 Soldiers, they are the "Good" guys as well, they share a common interest with the Crownies, but they've not always been close. The great bank is located within their kingdom. Crusaders - 15 Soldiers, they are led by a lord, subject to the New Lion Knights. Royal Knights - 11 Soldiers, their Lord is brother to the New Lion Knights King, but is subject to the New Lion Knights. Black Falcons - 9 Soldiers, they are led by a lord, but subject to the New Lion Knights. Elves - 13, the "good" and the wise. They ally with the Lion Knights. Black Knights - 17 Soldiers, they are the "grey" area. They fought with the Crownies, until a new threat emerged. Dragonmasters - 8 Soldiers, they are subjects of the Black Knights. New Dragon Knights - 13 Soldiers, they are subjects of the Black Knights. Persians - 42 Soldiers, they are the largest single standing army. They are located in the far east. Crownies know a lot about them, due to trade. They are wealthy, and strong, but are aware of a growing "evil" threat. Not sure which side they are on. Vikings - 14 soldiers, "evil" I suppose, just raid and pillage. Orcs - 30 Soldiers, "evil" allied with the Shadow knights. Skeletons - 40, "evil" allied with the shadow Knights. Shadow Knights - 22 soldiers, supreme evil in the land. Through use of black magic have awoken a great evil to take over the land. Pirates - 11, mercs, only carry about pillaging. Wolfpack - 9 soldiers, thieves. Fright Knights - 14 soldiers, they are allied with Shadow knights. Spartans - 10, not sure where they fit in. I'm still wanting to build them some type of structure ... waiting for the Atlantis set so I can MOC. Strong fighters, I guess mercs.
  16. Wow this theme looks amazing! Everything has so much detail. I'm not a big POTC fan, but the sets look great ... and would fit nicely into my castle theme :) A major PLUS, although small, are the sword sheathes! Lego has finally done it. I'm very happy. I just hope they also work with the castle swords :)
  17. Hey all, Any pointers on how best to fix the sides on minifig bodies that become cracked? I recently purchased some sets online and the minifig sides were cracked, making the arms very loose. I'm guessing using glue would overall be messy and ruin the minifig completely. How do others cope with this? Thanks.
  18. Just a heads up, Diagon Alley is no longer backordered on Lego.com. I ordered mine yesterday and it shipped today. I also got a free Sensi Wu chain with my order.
  19. As a kid I always wanted this set, but was never able to get it. However, I few months back I found it on ebay MISB for 120.00$. I am glad i picked this set up, as it is one of my favorites. Great review of it! This definitely is one of Lego's classics.
  20. Thank you Stiel, I didn't notice the "S." $40 seems reasonable, although still a bit high. This year is going to be expensive with lego; Diagon Alley, and Kingdoms.
  21. I wouldn't say so. It is just like any other hobby. Building Legos is very calming for me. True, Legos are toys, and I do feel awkward when I go to a TRU or other stores specifically looking for Legos; but, it is just like any other hobby (albeit expensive one) . A hobby that encompasses much more than the "toy" factor. Search around these forums for only minutes, and you'll find amazing MOCs people have created. Historically MOCs, funny MOCs, and very creative MOCs that are a representation of their creator. Moreover, this hobby is very nostalgic for many.
  22. Notice the prices of the set? Wow, pretty expensive. Particularly the "King's Carriage Ambush" - 89.90$
  23. I'm not sure if it is true or not. It was just reported from a member's description of the set. I'm hoping so; I would like nothing more than another colored horse. There has been too many white horse lately, so a different color would be great.
  24. Amen, I felt like a complete dork as well. When I went the store was packed (holiday toy shopping). So many people stopped either to stare at me or ask what I was doing, as I intensely stared at the packages. After about an hour, I finally just crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Sadly that didn't work. Here is hoping that they'll still be in stock over the next few weeks when I go with a friend to help with the search. I TOO refuse to play the blind packaging game.
  25. Very true hope some new news comes out soon.
