  1. sorry but this is not correct, because the most mobile cranes couldnt move their extensions under load. and some of them could move their extension only over 75 degrees. they control the working distance only with the angle of the boom.
  2. my local dealer says: 42009 = 199€ recovery truck = 109,99 Monstertruck = 39,99 mini offroader = 9,99 Mindstorms Ev3 349,99 new Technic Power Functions Tuning-Set = 36,99
  3. my steering system eliminates every gear jumpers or disharmonic. And no, i dont want to make a crab steering, my rigid stering system makes it impossible.to the NXT fans, if you want a nxt versiopn i could try an optimized version for NXT. but be sure that i dont build it in real.
  4. indeed, hopefully one hard shock absorber per wheelpair is enough for the real model. btw, a big step is done. the wheel pairs are attached, but not reinforced yet. current part count: 3228 actual file: http://www.brickshel...entywheeler.lxf bugfixes: little error in steering system fixed
  5. on this picture its weight is 2500 grams, the width 305mm and the wheelbase is 350mm and the length overall is 650mm. the final mining truck will have roundabout 720mm wheelbase @david thanks for posting the link
  6. the backbone, with the main steering system, is finished. the actual ldd file you can find %20etf-backbone%20von%20efferman%20auf%20Flickr"]here[/url].
  7. Gears are jumping over, so gears are not an option and ackermann is a must have for me. either a full programmable or a full mechanical steering system. thanks for your thoughts and maybe someone wants to try it out with my suspension system but myself is going the mechanical way.
  8. you know that the fifth axle has in normal mode an different direction to the first axle? how do you give them the same direction for crab steering?
  9. but where is the sense to use nxt, if not to make crab steering possible?. and for this, every steering point needs its own servo
  10. simple answer: four intelligent nxt bricks, 10 servos would you pay for this?
  11. 42009? maybe a cherrypicker uppercarriage? with this large amount of parts it could be everything
  12. oh, what iam happy that i have build a test chassis. Under load the wheelbase is too short and the mudguard collides with the axle behind and blocks the return tu the center.
  13. a inventory of the four threads? i can not understand why so much threads are open to the same theme. sure, a question on the 15th page will not take a signifikant amount of answers. but does not everyone tells his opinion about the 2013 sets, in the threads which are allready posted?
  14. oh my god, now it is a fact that i cant build this truck with my current parts. i have enough tires but other parts are empty after , well this.... beside of my insufficent count of some parts iam happy. the turning circle is exactly 1.35 meters from outside to outside and the tires are rolling fine without moving to side
  15. indeed, roundabout at this angle will be the maximum 100_9962 von efferman auf Flickr
  16. newbie mistake? LAs are good in holding the position and they are used on functions which must hold the position over a long time. so this was a good decission. and pneumatics are good to bring power to places which are hard to reach. sorry, if this was a newbie, it was a intelligent newbie and this newbie had made a very good decission. have a nice day
  17. why not, this huge thing has enough room for a complex drivetrain. and if it doesnt work, there is enough room to give each wheel its own PF-L. thanks for this exciting excursion in the world of maths, but iam not an theoretical. there is a simple way to get a proper ackerman geometry. choose a point on the length line of your vehicle. then use some beams which are long enough to reach the pivot points of your steering wheels, and fix it to both points. on this line should u choose the point for connecting the track rod. if this is done properly the ackermann works proper. you only need to have the chassis.
  18. hm, the RC recovery truck looks nice. folding fork and extending boom by pneumatics. Stabilizing swords by two mini LA, lifting the boom by an big LA (right decission) and maybe an compressor. a very cool set
  19. wohooo, again a must have and again something to modify whats wrong? the hinge of the boom is too much in front of the uppercarriage i love the lego designers. a perfect set would be boring
  20. i have found them here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=52005entry925927
  21. in the ldd file which you have in this moment, i have no problems anymore. only the green axle is a replacement of a 3l pin which dont want fit. btw, iam actual searching the correct linkage to get a proper ackerman geometry. p.s. its not final
  22. please follow the orange markers
