  1. The installer seems to be ad 0.1.3.0 still. Do you think to update it or you leave the portable version only?
  2. I'm not sure I've understood what you ask, because it seems to me that LDD already achieve the first three points. That's what happened using "single selection tool" with CTRL keyboard key. Or do I misunderstood? LDD supports groups. You can make a selection and then gather the pieces in a single group. The only limit is that a brick can belong to a single group only. Obviously groups are not perfect and can be heavily improved (as you can read in my request list in the post #2 of this discussion), but it offers a basic support anyway. LDD allows to select pieces using "selection rectangle" (starting the selection in an empty area and dragging it), could be this functionality is what you are looking for? About the forth point I agree, sometimes it is very difficult to place a piece. My thought is that a "place a brick" tool (independent from connections, that allow you to freely place an element) would be a good solution, and will solve some other issues.
  3. My opinion is that the sets you mention cannot be added for two reasons: the sets has not been released and the the sets are not build using official instructions. Last word to legolijntje, anyway.
  4. The rule simply means that we can't accept models built using means different from official instructions, such as: photos, images, cad files, "I copied the assembled model that a friend lent me", etc... The source have to be the official instruction booklet (don't mind if real or digital), but how to follow it, this is your choice.
  5. @DLuders He knows how to insert an image, it is me that modified his post because the image is irregular. I forgot to add the edit note, now it has been added. Anyway I already contacted Instructions archiver using private messages.
  6. Probably I confused the element id with the design id. I meant the 6-7 digits code that includes the colour. A took a look at the specific intruction booklet, and the code was not present. The set is dated 2004, perhaps in that time the element id was not reported yet in the instructions booklet.
  7. Maybe you can find the right position of silver round plates from some photos. For example in this photo I can see two of the silver ones on the left side of the chest, and probably the other two are on the right side in the same position.
  8. Did you try to gather the DesignID from the bricklist in the last pages of the Instruction Booklet and check it here? EDIT: no design id in the bricklist... forget it.
  9. Did you updated the guide with these new techniques (Depth of Field, FishEye, Light emitting objects, reflective wood floor, ...) that has been showed these days in the topics related to powray?
  10. There are two kind of requests among yours that probably will be not satisfied: Those that requires a strong programming effort, such as multithreading, etc... After the closedown of the "Design by Me" feature and of Lego Universe, the development of LDD seems to be slowed down, for now I think we will see little improvement or bugfix and update of the brick palette (and that's a good thing, anyway) Those that requires the use of "real life" techniques. LDD promote the use of legal techniques and discourage the use of illegal ones. Some of your requests regards techniques that are deprecated by TLG, so it is very difficult you will see that accomplished.
  11. Take a look at the LDD Reference Topic.
  12. Ok, if it is a matter of few days, this time there is no problem. For the future, remember that you can't post a set that has not been released yet. You can provide a .lxf file with those extra pieces as a "bonus file", but the main file can't contain more pieces than those necessary to build the set. Anyway, I think there is a best way to easy find that pieces, that is to create a group that assort the replacements.
  13. @Stephan According with BrickSet, the set 3300014 has not been released yet. Perhaps do you have different informations?
  14. It seems the software is growing very well. I've two questions: - I indexed your software as "Online Design Tool". Do you want I modified the name in "Mecabricks Workshop" - With the migration to the new board, it seems that the first post need a little fix. What do you think to use the first post to gather all the useful informations of your software, such as links, the last version, number of bricks supported, main features, future improvements, etc...?
  15. and, maybe, links to Bricklink or even thumbnails!

  17. Good technique. It should be added in the LDD refecence topic, but perhaps it would be better to wait for the new key topics that will replace it.
  18. @PeabodySam You are right. I gave only a look at the image and I thought that other models are those specified in the built instructions. I've to discuss about this situation with other of the staff. For now leave the post as is then, and add a note that models B, C and D can be built together.
  19. @PeabodySam Perhaps the best thing would be to create the whole scenario showed in the photo on the back cover. Do you think you can do that?
  20. @PeabodySam Looking at set 5987, are you sure that such a small builds are official alternative models? Perhaps are these part of a single "alternative model?" Look at the upper part of the last page of the instruction booklet.
  21. @Petersky You have to post every set separately, and with one image for each. Can you edit your post? EDIT: thanks!
  22. The problem is that create a local webserver is too difficult for the great part of the users. The "ideal" thing would be a simple file that executed inside a directory containing the images will create cropped and resized thumbnails, but I didn't find nothing similar. I'm working with irfanview but unfortunately it seems to be unable to manage alpha channel transparency correctly. If you want to create a complete "step-by-step" guide for your script, I'll post it in the first page. You could sent it to me using private messages.
  23. Thanks, very useful. I already thought to an online solution, but it has a limit: if you have not a line that ensure you a fast upload, the process is very slow. Or do you intend to use it in locale? PS: what do you mean with "trimming non-transparent areas"? Usually the portion of the image that need to be cut out is transparent (transparency obtained using Alpha Layer).
  24. What hrontos told is at the present moment the best solution. Anyway there are other more "manual" metohsd you could use. Take a look at the Section Index topic and look for "Instructions": you will find some topic where the subject is debated.
