  1. Great work Scrubs! What do you think to share language files so that we could contribute to add missing languages? A pair of questions: I imagine that 800 parts refers to Design IDs (shape) and not to specific elements (shape/colour/decoration). Or perhaps decorated elements are counted as single elements? Do you privilege old or new parts? I mean, your software is more adequate to built old or new sets? About performances, has the software the same problems to manage big models as LDD? Or it is more/less efficient? The software uses its own ecosystem or its files are in some way compatible with LDD or LDraw ones? Oops you already answer to this. I hope in an import/export function soon. Models is saved in locale or is there an online library? Is it possible to open/save file from a personal cloud resource? Is there a way to request a part to increase its priority?
  2. Did you took a look at the LDD Troubleshooting topic? You can easily find it looking at the Section Index.
  3. Maybe a video could help to focus both the problem and the solution?
  4. Maybe many of you already know about these videos, maybe not. I follow Tubafrog's channel from before I started to attend EuroBricks, and I find his works are really awesome! Using Powray he animated the assembly of some of the best official sets made by LEGO. My favourite videos are and . If you are only a bit curious take a look at his youtube channel or his blog.
  5. I think you are speaking about the "Post Apocalypse RCB" I mentioned above. If we want to promote a new RCB, I think it should be the first try.
  6. I don't know about smartphone apps, but my precision balance wheights 1/100 of gram with a maximum weight of 100 grams. Weight a sachet returns often different results (in a range of 2-3 hundredths of a gram), while weight more "solid" things like a coin is more precise.
  7. If you need some specified model in LDRAW you could ask some builder to make it for you: the LDRAW official set topic is ever in growth and sometimes builders are undecided on which set will be their next entry. Besides, legolijntje will correct me if I'm wrong, there is a wide database of LDRAW creation that has not be wholly indexed still. Otherwise, the export to LDRAW function of LDD could be a good starting point for a conversion, but remember that LDD misses many old pieces while LDRAW often misses more recent parts.
  8. Don't forget that the section index can be a good reference for this kind of questions!
  9. @Rook I didn't know there was these kind of softwares for smartphone, I use a small portable precision balance. To understand, something like this: click. Could you report an example for one or two of these "apps"?
  10. @legolijntje Microsoft creates a discontinuity between DX 10 and previous ones. So if you want to use DX9 and previous application (the great part of present games), you need to install DX9. Download the latest full 9c redistributable from microsoft website. About .NET Framework install the 3.5 that includes the 2.0. EDIT: oops, anticipated.
  11. That's a terrible news. We should stop buying instead than buy one more box, maybe they understand they are taking things too far. Now I'm very undecided if buy the box or not.
  12. Using the LDRAW ecosystem you don't need any software like LDD2Powray. For any further information, you can read this guide. Anyway the chance to directly export a model for powray or blender could be an interesting (premium?) feature for SR3D.
  13. @KielDaMan I notices some boundaries have too many black, for example the dolphin's tails. Is it inevitable or is it an artifact due to use this technique?
  14. Thanks... but your numbers worried me: There are not 3 complete series in a box as usual. I hope I will not have the same problem with mine.
  15. Index updated. 52 Sets has been added to the index (7 alternative, 2 duplicate, 1 incomplete). 16. @Instructions archiver The image of the second entry (6585) is not adequately cropped and too big for such a small set, could you fix it? (The first image is not well cropped too, but we can pass over it!)
  17. Take a look at here, in the Section Index.
  18. We should verify if there is enough interest from builders for another RCB, otherwise there is the risk to have again problems as in the past, where an RCB carried out for too long meant the indifference of the LDD forum users. About colour checking, I hope this time the new "custom palette" function will help us to avoid the problem. We only need to create that, I hope it is not too difficult. And Aanchir will have some free time! I think we could wait a new brickset update before starting the new RCB, so that we can have a stable "brickset" for the entire duration of the work. Last thing, we still have a Post Apocalypse RCB that never started! We could resume it before thinking something other.
  19. Great, thanks! It would be useful to add a final comparison between the images resulting from the standard and the "fast" method with the same lxf, analyzing them and reporting the time necessary for both renderings. As I thought to full size images, you should provide that using text links or thumbnails.
  20. @bbqqq What do you think to use the first post of this topic to create a step by step guide for this "fast rendering", explaining in brief advantages and disadvantages? (using small descriptive images and lists). I could index the topic than!
  21. I think that LEGO could be a great mean to test your algorithm, but about using the software... I thought the the fun with LEGO was to build your creation by yourself! Anyway, I think all us will be glad to see it at work!
  22. Ok, in the meantime I didn't resist and bought four Series 9 minifigures. The measure is not much relevant for statistics, but here is their weight: 04 - Heroic Knight - 11,84 11 - Alien Avenger - 12,25 12- Mermaid - 12,52 15 - Forest Maiden - 12,26
  23. @Hedgie A little question: the problem happens if you open the file from another disk/partition on only if the file is on a network drive?
  24. Could you post some screenshot and an example .lxf file we can test for you?
