  1. It is not possible to connect the vehicle to the baseplate, so you have to drop it over. Some solutions could be: a static scaffolding, such as the one suggested by Seluryar. You can use different bricks to built it to have a more precise placement of the tires on the baseplate. place a plate next to the vehicle, an then connect the baseplate to it. That will put the baseplate at the right vertical distance from the vehicle, but only for (partly) smooth baseplates (for example, roads). Then you have to move the vehicle over the baseplate, selecting it together with a brick on the ground level. a dynamic scaffolding. I usually built it using an axle and a bush. Select the vehicle together with the bush and move this last one along the axle until the vehicle "land" on the baseplate. You can use another scaffolding to move the the vehicle over the desired point on the baseplate. You can combine different techniquest to fit your needs. For example you can use a static sfaccolding to place the vehicle and then use a simple vertical dynamic scaffolding to precisely drop it on the baseplate. NOTE: it is a good thing to use a "group" for the vehicle, to make easy to select it. Once you move it on the scene, it could be difficult to select it with the selection rectangle.
  2. About the point "2)", can you specify how exactly you replaced the animals? You have to replace with similar ones or brick build solutions. About the note, the sets should be as faithful as possible to original ones, so if bushes are not present in the original set, should not be added. Anyway, you can provide modified files and images as extra text links, if you want. PS: the "6575 Polar Base" has not the lxf anymore! Don't forget to add it again! PPS: In the forum you can't indent text as in a txt file. At this aim you can use the "list" tag. PPPS: I've made a short guide to create good quality screenshots. You can take a look at it and release a feedback, if you want.
  3. Perfect, that's what I wanted to know. Thanks!
  4. Why you shouldn't want? You are perfectly right! Border outlines is not the only reason, shadows are probably the main reason. But when I wrote I thought about borders I knew there is some other reason, but in that moment it didn't occur! You did well, specifying that. Anyway, the message I wanted to communicate was that the reason is a better visibility. @Megaloptus You will be able to post links when you will reach 5 posts. If you want you could post a pseudo-url and I can convert it in a regular URL. But I think it is not necessary, few posts still and you will be able to do that by yourself. PS: there is one thing I've not understood... it is necessary to tag the set as incomplete? Missing parts has been replaced?
  5. It is known. The reason is simple: the dark blue allows a better visibility bricks' borders, while the black colour would be confusion for the builder, because it is the colour of the borders. Remember that LDD is a tool thought to build, not to show colours in their perfect tonality. If you read official LEGO instructions that you find in LEGO sets, you can notice that even there the black is not black. It is a matter of visibility. PS: did you read my notice about your entry in the Official set in LDD topic?
  6. @Megaloptus Hi Megaloptus and welcome in EB and in this topic. There are some things to fix in your post to be considered regular and acceptable for indexing. - the image is too big, the maximum size allowed here is 512x512 (I've temporarily converted it in a text link) - the image is uncropped: you should remove blank stripes. - it miss a list of errors, can you provide one? That would be very helpful for you too, when you will work again on the set (for example, after an update of the bricks' library) - remember that an entry, to be considered complete, should replace missing parts with similar or brick build solutions. - it would be better to use an external file hosting instead the attachment function of the forum to share the lxf file. The most used is brickshelf, but you can choose every alternative that allows direct linking. You can find all the rules of this topic in the first page. Thanks!
  7. It seems the upper part of the roof is missing. Look at here.
  8. @legolijntje Waiting for Superkalle, I think the updates should be reported in your "LDraw info topic" too.
  9. Oh, in this case I can't accept the model inside the topic. As the title says, this is the topic of official sets, and only models build with official TLG instructions can be accepted. These model can be shared here as extra (but without an image directly linked) together with an official model (if the model is not your, I suggest you to ask permission to the original builder). EDIT: reading the post of Toa_of_Justice you linked above, I see the model is an official TLG model, and the build instructions has been shared via LEGO Club. So the set is perfectly acceptable. Is the set 7292 [Model D] in the same situation too?
  10. We discussed about that, and at the end we decided to maintain the choice to allow screenshots only. Here is part of the reasons I communicate to another user: That's because the thumbnail have to provide e preview of the work (renderings uses different parts library and can contain differences from the lxf model), and can be useful to spot errors (for exemple the use of a wrong colour) and suggest building techniques.
  11. Probably he is rendering his creations using LDD2Powray and obviously Powray. Unfortunately these renderings are not allowed in this topic (thumbnails have to be LDD screenshots of the set to show a preview of the work), so they have to be replaced, but can be provided as extra using text links).
  12. Could be it works because I edited the broken link! (you can see the intervention in the Edit Note) @Gnac I edited your post #2516. Different models have to be inserted as separated sets. About the "Bonus model for 7291" (post #2523), did you built it using official instructions? If the answer is yes, please mark it as "Model D".
  13. With this explanation, now I can understand why there is a virtual filesystem and why a "portable" (stand alone) version is difficult to realize. So the problem is related to the need to "hide" TLG geometries of bricks. It is not possible to realize a module for powray that allow encrypted communication between the software and LDD2Powray?
  14. Thanks, I'll wait for the mini-index than!
  15. Ok, than it is a simple screenshot tool (I use Hoversnap, it should be something similar, I guess). For LDD screeshots, anyway, it is better to use integrates screenshot function, because it generate an image of the model only, without grill, buttons and toolbars. Besides, the result is a PNG image with transparency, whose quality is much better that jpeg compressed image (obviously many screenshot tool allow PNG screenshots, but it is more difficult to obtain transparency = independence of the model from the background). Because downsampling strongly increase the quality of the image. If you snap yous screenshot at 2560x px and then resize it to 800x px, the result is much better then take a 800x px screenshot directly. Besides it is ever possible to insert hight resolution images as clickable thumbnails and text links. The hight resolution is one of the main "trick" illustrated in this guide.
  16. Thanks for the fast answer! I think the index is a very good idea, it make easy to navigate through the topic. Could be in the index you can add a link to this topic, that is related to the argument too. PS: I see that in the first pages of the discussions there are many links to other discussions that could be helpful to add to the mini-index too.
  17. The old topic I'm referring to is the one titled "Miracle breakthrough !", that I used as reference for "ingredients", procedures and experiences in cleaning LEGO bricks. Yesterday I had the need to consult the topic, then I went to my bookmarks and tried to open it, but the topic seems to don't exists anymore. What happened to the topic? It is possible to resume it?
  18. I think LDD can maximize taking advantage of any available resolution of the display. The real problem is that it is not possible to easily set a "virtual resolution" using virtual pan and scan, but we are limited to the display resolution. Probably we need a driver that simulate a monitor with any resolution... does anyone knows something similar? Zinfinion uses the "downscaling" trick, supported by his video card, but it is complicated and a bit risky for the hardware. PS: you told you used AA and the screenshot seems to use advanced graphics. I made some test time ago, and I was not able to use AA and Advanced Graphics together. What kind of AA did you use? What's the advantage to use this tool? Perhaps it is useful to solve multimonitor problems, if any?
  19. What do you think about creating a mosaic lxf file using 1x1 bricks or plates? Could be the only difficulty is to get colour data from an image, assuming the function create uses a 1x1 brick for each pixel.
  20. Hi and welcome in the LDD forum. Can you specify the ID of the piece you are using? Note that belts are flexible elements in real bricks, but in LDD only few flexible elements can be flexed. These elements are marked with a small "flex icon". Does this symbol appears in the palette together next to the belt you are using?
  21. Note that TLG produces bricks with and without the micro-holes. For example in my House 4956 I found 1x6 bricks white with the oles and other without that. And probably other bricks/plates too.
  22. Oops... I readed the list more than one time and I miss the feature! Could be the late time... Even more great work, then! From the (native) portable version, I expect the usual things: - "unzip and execute" without installation - work in its own folder (no registry settings or folders dispersed on the system) - usable from a pen drive
  23. Great work, I didn't thought to see flexible parts supported so soon. I see the "custom decorations are not yet supported" is vanished from the Limitations, but it is not included in the Features. Has this feature been added? Another little thing: is there a chance for a portable (stand alone) version?
  24. I'd like to have classic minifig faces printed in 'ninety. At start LEGO uses only one face, but later starts to create different decorations (faces with moustaches, glasses, female faces). Now there are tons of face decoration with different expressions, but in the past there was only an expression but some different elements. Perhaps these decorations are not so many that can be included in LDD. Here is a list of the faces, many of them are very common.
