"Ah, yes, but I already have good reputation amongst the Hinckwells. While more would be fine...again, I'm rather interested in this magic sort of stuff."

"Those of us that don't have a love life should stick together Ellaria."

Ellaria grinned at the female elf. "Thank you, I'm relieved I'm not the only one feeling like this..."

En Sabah Nur approached the table where his friend Haldor was seated with other heroes. Upon hearing the cleric speak of his elven love interest, the earth mage paused, spun on his heels and walked in the other direction.

Tesni returned to the hall, she had had an enjoyable day exploring the coastline for caves and rock pools. Growing up high in the mountains, ever day by the sea was a special treat.

"Hail friends!" She called, returning to the table she had left earlier. Scooping up a plate from the serving table she sat, to enjoy chatting and good food with friends.

"Hello to you too. It is good to meet another cleric here, there does not seem to be very many of us in Heroica..."

"I'm sorry miss if I was impolite, I was just a little distracted. May I ask if you were born with a gift like mine? Or are you a cleric of the potion variety? How do you like being here in Heroica? Also, may I ask what inspired you to join the band?"

Haldor noticed how Tarn-the-not-quite-that-gentlemanly-gentleman-barbarian was trying to aattract the attention of Tesni, but seemed oblivious to Ellaria. It seemed cruel, Haldor muutered an unspeakable word (:oh:) and looked at Ellaria, she seemed nice enough and did not deserve to be left hanging. Haldor thought that Tarn ought to have a punch in the face! :enough:

Haldor knew how Ellaria felt, he had been in a similar situation, but of course Jess was not cruel. On the contrary, she was very clever, and very pretty and very strong too...

No offence Rumble Strike! Just trying to develop Haldor's do-gooder persona.

Maurice noticed that many experienced heroes had recently returned from their quests and filled up the hall. The conversations were many and loud. Maurice wanted to focus on his meditation to make sure he would be in as good form as possible in case he was chosen to a quest. But as the hall became more and more crowded he saw the futility in this. Instead he found it best to go and sign his interest in another quest that had been posted on the board: Maurice Ratibor signs up for Quest #10: Extra-Curricular Activities

"Education is important and I would be proud to help ensure the Academy's high reputation and catch the misbehaviours. But I see that many heroes already have reported their interest. I might need some divine help to get a place in the quest."

Maurice Ratibor decided he would go visit the Temple of Ennoc and pray to the god of justice and honesty to improve his chances.

(shameless self-promotion of my Heroica MOC  )

Ellaria smiled at the fellow cleric.

"Oh, I didn't mind. I know there's a big crowd here at the moment. My gift of healing was bestowed to me upon birth by Sylvania. The villagers who raised me found me in a forest, by their own words. I returned to that same forest later in life, and Sylvania spoke with me there. I know it sounds crazy, but she told me to come here to Eubric, that I would find my destiny here... I'm sorry, I'm rambling..."

"Yes, sometimes it is rather annoying but, I can live with it. They are my friends."

"Those of us that don't have a love life should stick together Ellaria."

"Then I'm in!" Althior said as he woke up from his nap.

"Then I'm in as well." Finnegan said.

'You're an aura, you have an excuse to not have a love life."

Tesni regarded the hall once more. It was enjoyable enough with her new questmates, but once again her thoughts returned to those she had adventured with before, wondering how they fared in their fields of battle.

The Ellaria seemed to be death glaring in her direction. 'I seem to be doing bad by that cleric' Tesni mused to herself. 'Maybe I should tell Tarn about the rite of my village, that should send him in the right direction soon enough...' Tesni grinned and stood, aiming for the bar.

"What ales might I find here today?" she asked. "I heard over in the fishmarket of one called Boar Tusk, they say it is good. I can have a flaggon?"

Erdathcath wanders in, and looks at the Quest board. "I thought I had signed up for Quest 11, I guess not." As She signs her name for Quest 11

Then walks over to Alexis, and introduces herself. "Hello, I am Erdathcath, I believe I have not had the honor of meeting you yet. How do you do?"

OOC: Erdathcath is getting a new outfit soon.

"Then I'm in!" Althior said as he woke up from his nap.

"Ah good. Another sensible person."

Then walks over to Alexis, and introduces herself. "Hello, I am Erdathcath, I believe I have not had the honor of meeting you yet. How do you do?"

"I'm doing good. I believe you were here when I came in from my first quest."

Atramor finishes his formerly seemigly endless ale bottle, and slams it on the tabe.

"THAT. Is good drink. Huh...how many Elven Rangers are there in here? Only one I've not seen with ears like that was an ogre, by the looks of him."

Tarn felt the gold pieces he had acquired in his last quest rattling around in his pockets. He remembered Tesni and Alexis talking about fusing an elemental gem into a weapon. He would ask Ellaria about this. She was smart and clever and knew how the whole magic thing worked. Magic left Tarn baffled.

He noticed she was talking to some scruffy Norseman. "Hey, Ellaria!" he called, hoping to get her attention.

"That barbarian's quite the social butterfly," Skrall thought to himself as Alf went and introduced himself to half a dozen other people, by the time the ogre had finished his introduction. Haldor had returned and so had Nur, but both had gone their separate ways.

"No matter," he thought to himself. Skrall waltzed down the stairs {if an ogre could waltz} and decided to sign his name under Quest 9: Trespassers. He wasn't good around children, heck that was part of the reason he had left home in the first place. Constantly nagging and getting into messes, it amazed the ogre how these humans were so enraptured with one another, could they be so blind to the long term nature of their emotions. True Skrall sometimes missed his mate, but she and the children were better off without him for the moment, and probably more well off thanks to his new employment here at the hall. Skrall returned to and sat back down at his table, closed his eyes, and reflected on the first time he had set eyes on Hamair Redlocks.

Eric Daknikolus walks into the hall. His senses are assaulted by a multitude of strange sights and smells. He had been banished from Mopag when they found out that he was a half-elf and a thief. He had been inspired by some passing heroes to join Heroica. Eric spots a table with a pretty female elf sitting at it. He slides into the empty seat and addresses everyone at the table.

"Hello, I am Eric Daknikolus, (Level 1 Rogue), but everyone calls me Eric or Dak. How are you today?"

He silently winces at his bad small talk skills.

OOC: I will update my sig later today, and just in case you were wondering, that 'pretty elf' is Alexis (Masked Builder).

(Not really in the Hall but whatever)

Maurice approached the entrance to the Temple of Ennoc feeling stronger for every step. This was where he belonged, no matter what had happened. His hand went for his constantly aching left shoulder but he stopped himself when he saw the guards outside the entrance to the temple. He gave them a nod of recognition but received nothing back. "Of course, I'm nobody to them now", he thought. At the top of the stairs stood the high priestess and Maurice bowed to her and paid the usual mandatory donation of 5 gold pieces to get access to the temple.

Before the great statue of the Righteous Light Maurice fell on his knees and started his praying.

"Oh Ennoc, the light that reveals everything, guide me in my life to fight injustice and falseness. I'm ready to begin my long journey back to the place as one of your foremost defenders if you could just grant me the possibility to prove myself worthy. 2 quests where help is needed against lawbreakers and wasters has been announced in the Heroica Hall, one by the Hinckwells and one by the Academy of Enlightenment. With your divine help any of those quests would be sure to be successful, but I need help to be chosen to the quest amongst all the other heroes in Heroica. Please grant me this wish and I will be forever grateful."

As soon as Maurice had finished his prayer the temple was illuminated be a bright light. It beamed out from the statue and Maurice could feel the heat from it on his skin. As suddenly as it had begun it disappeared but Maurice knew that Ennoc, the Righteous Light, the God of Justice, the Light that reveals everything had granted him his wish. He walked out of the Temple with a new feeling of confidence and strong courage. He was chosen by Ennoc, whatever happened with his entries for the quests he knew he had his divinity on his side.

Back at the Heroica Hall Maurice went up the stair to the pub and looked around to see if anyone of the heroes had an empty seat at their table. Meditation time was over, now it was time to socialize!

Alex was polishing his armor when the newcomer came in. Finally! Someone to talk too, he felt too awkward walking in on someone else's conversation, but now he could introduce himself.

"Hello Dak! That's a pretty cool nickname. Want to discuss anything?" the elf chevalier asks.

Alex takes a sip of his water.

OOC: I just realized, my character's name is Alex, and an elf, while Masked Builder's elf is Alexis..

OOC: Alex recoils when I lift my hood to reveal my deathly pale skin.

Alex tries to cover his face of horror when he lifts his hood. His good nature of a knight didn't want to hurt some one.

"How do we do things? Well, the saloon here is cool, free drinks! Fights here can happen often, you'll be surprised at what happens.... sleeping rangers, shuriken impersonating crusaders, trigger-happy crossbowmen, that sort of stuff. Just be ready to flip the table! So I'm unsure whether this is similar to Mopag. What kind of place is it?" replies Alex.

Meh, in Mopag we're mainly farmers. My mom died when I was thirteen, and I never knew my father. I had to steal for a living, and ran from the Gaurds a lot. They finally caught up to me though. Man, was it hard to escape. The gaurds slept a lot when I snuck a Sleeping Potion into their rum.

That lock was hard to break though. "

(Now speaking to Alexis)

"Yes, I am a Rogue. Originally, I was a peasant, but I achieved my class when I started as a thief."

Nur's brow raised in curiosity as the cleric in white entered the Hall. He could see a glow radiating from the white cleric and felt an intense warmth as the man reached the top of the stairs. The dark mage was drawn to this cleric and without realizing it, his feet began walking toward him. Perhaps the light of this man could turn the ex-thief away from a life of wrongdoing for good.

"Forgive me cleric but I must know your name." The mage-thief reached out and grabbed the cleric's arm to stop him. A white light emanated from Nur's eyes and mouth as he was assaulted with images featuring heroic acts of bravery, justice, and...Ennoc. En Sabah Nur managed to break contact and doubled over from the experience, exhausted. The cleric turned and saw the mage on his knees. En Sabah Nur looked up at the cleric with tears in his eyes and grinned.
