Problems with BS / Is BrickShelf no more ???

Recommended Posts

Darn. I forgot that. :'-( I just had a quick browse and noticed that most reviews are missing pictures now. Silly me assumed that admins had a lot of local server space and stored them here...

Actually I can upload reviews directly BUT when the system is full, there will be a big wave of pic deletion like last time ;-) So its definitly NOT a good solution ;-)

I guess if it would be just some maintenance problem with BrickShelf than that message

we can see would look different.

All this buzz around BS is really undermining all the great stuff that is happening right now in other EB topics: all the new sets for '08 and so on !!

Come on people, try to be positive !! First its NOT the end of the world and we will always find some replacement if the BS "issue" is not solved !!

So stop worrying and try to relax a bit ;-)

Yep. My Lego bookmark folder looks just the same. It's enough to make you want to cry.

Hi everyone! I joined here to try to be in touch with the community throughout this process. What I'm doing is moving all of the photos to a new and improved site that I've been working on for a while. I'll try to let you guys know whenever I have more information. Sorry there was not more notice. I was hoping to have this up and running by the end of BrickShelf but I've encountered a few snags. ~ Kevin

Welcome to Eurobricks! And thanks for the update person who may or may not be the real Kevin from Brickshelf. You are a cautiously welcomed mysterious stranger. X-D 8-| Good luck with those snags. If you need any help I found this article:

Snags

Is that what you meant? *wacko*

So the snags article did help! :-P Thanks for the info Kevin and for getting us access to the pics before moving on to bigger and better things. That's pretty great! X-D Now that you're here hope to see you around more often!

Oh, and also thanks for all the years of running Brickshelf and providing such a great service for the community. You're a man!!

Thanks a lot for the information. I hope with the "they will not be supported by the new site in their current format'' you mean that they will be resized or something like this :) . This would be really great because the bigger files need very long to load on my computer.

I hate to say it but I'm unsure if this is really Kevin. I'm really not trying to be mean but this contact is a little out of character (although it's very possible that he, you, have changed) or it could be someone capitalising on our hopes to get a laugh. I for one hope it is you, Kevin, and I hope you're not offended by my wariness.

I'm afraid I must agree, and I too, apologize to you, Kevin, if it's really you.

However the fact that Eurobricks is the only website to get this announcement, and no mention of it was made on Lugnet, makes this user suspect in my eyes. As much as the admins of Eurobricks would like it to be the center of the LEGO universe ;), Kevin has a much longer history with Lugnet and, I think, would have posted there first, or have someone like Jennifer Boger do it for him.

So we've got two weeks to retrieve or pictures? I'm glad we have a good warning this time. :-/

And I am too a bit confuzzled by the "Kevin" account. Perhaps some confimation would help...
