  1. Hello Everybody Im happy to introduce you my Liebherr R 980 excavator scalemodel 1:25. The whole excavator is fully motorized with power functions. The goal was to combine the motorized technic world with the usual lego bricks. Was not that easy because of the weight. This beauty will be for ever with me, thats why i also builded up a box as you can see on the pictures. Let me know what you think. :-) Best Regards from Zürich Switzerland. 2. Hello Everybody My Name is Dani, im a 36 years old LEGO fanatic from Zürich Switzerland and im a brandnew eurobricks member. ;-) Im proud to introduce you my Liebherr R 9150 excavator in the scale 1:13. Yeah i know, the mining machines from Liebherr are white in real, but i like the yellow Liebherr color design much more. It is „only“ a scale model and has no functions, motors etc, cause the construction is just too heavy. I dont know the wheight exactly, but i think its about 40 pounds, this thing is HUGE. As you can see, i used alot parts, only for the black track-chains about 1200 pieces. I worked on this Monster since 3 years, of course with a lot breaks between. Effort in hours: i guess about 300. Please let me know what you think. If you have any questions, just ask. ;-)
  3. Now 99% happy with this, my interpretation of a backhoe excavator, based originally on the red farm tractor by TLG and evolved from there, enjoy, hope you like it like me, comments feedback welcome.
  4. I created this modified Bucket Wheel Excavator some time ago, and I thought I would like to share it on this forum. After building the original BWE, I wanted to try to incorporate some Mindstorms functions into it. I managed to motorise all the active functions, using both an EV3 brick and motors, as well as some PF motors. Functions can be preprogrammed, or can be remotely controlled using an EV3 IR remote. Here is a list of the functions: Bucket wheel rotation and main conveyor belt - PF XL motor Lower conveyor belt - PF medium motor Boom arm elevation - EV3 large motor Lower conveyor swivel - EV3 large motor Superstructure rotation - EV3 medium motor Driving - EV3 medium motor Since I owned an NXT as well, I used it to motorise the small mining truck that was included in the set. There are also some LEDs that illuminate the 'work area', but they don't really do a good job, its just a nice thing to include. Here is a video of the excavator in action, as well as the mining truck (sorry about the poor resolution and bit rate): More info about the machine can be found here: https://www.us.lego.com/en-us/mindstorms/community/robot?projectid=3e125a5b-475c-4a4c-b3ed-e4b4f2192907 Let me know what you think of it in the comments!
  5. Presenting my latest MOC: 42043 UDS! Thanks! BrickbyBrick
  6. Hello everyone! Presenting my new MOC:\ Thanks!
  7. Hi, here is my MOC idea of a micro scale construction site. https://www.flickr.c...eposted-public/
  8. Hi everybody! :) I'm new to the forum and wanted to share my latest MOC, and in doing so I hope to start a discussion on the set that I've designed and I'm sure that there will be some really interesting dialogue as a result of this. To get something out of the way (and quickly), this set is my very first Lego Idea and as of today it is live - please support it if you think it has merit as a potential Lego set! Monster Miner / Wheel Loader And now, some reflection on the process that led to this model and some thoughts about Lego in general! I'm almost 33 years old and have been mad about Lego for as long as I remember. I love to create things with Lego, and for about 25 years now it's always been Technic-style diggers and cranes, sometimes other construction vehicles, all with functioning gear trains and realistic movements. I'd say that this set I'm sharing here today is the culmination of between 25 and 30 years of Lego experimentation and prototyping. and I just feel that every aspect of this set has "clicked" (pardon the pun) and I'm so happy finally to be able to include a little bit of everything in one big, imposing set. My thinking on Lego today is that there are many sets which don't look very Lego-like (certainly in the MOC realm), and I'm confused by that. Why conceal the medium that makes Lego what it is? With this model I decided to embrace Lego as an educational childs toy (which is what it is, first and foremost), so instead of concealing all the studs and making this more of a replica and less of a toy, I have tried to retain the inherent Lego-ness and sturdy playability of the exterior whilst presenting an equally impressive and more grown-up sort of "model" that would appeal to teenagers and even adults. Basically, it's Lego city, Lego Technic, Lego Model Team etc. rolled into one. Whether that works or not... is up to everybody else! So what do you folks think? Must Lego sets be "niche" products if they are to succeed as merchandise, or is it possible to stretch things a little and cater for more than one market with just one set? To put it another way, I reckon this is the set that I wanted to find in the pages of the 1990s Lego catalogues, especially at the back, in the Model Team section. That's why I built it. Is it just me, or is there intrinsic appeal in this sort of set that straddles the fence delineating different Lego lines? Here are some more pics which may or may not influence your input!

    MOC: Hi-Rail Excavator

Presenting my hi-rail exacavator. It is a fun little creation I put together for an upcoming LUG meeting at train themed brewery. It is driven by the rubber tires mounted to a PF train motor. The battery box and IR receiver are located in the high side gondola. It is made to stand up to children playing with it. I got the inspiration from a picture of the LEGO display at LEGO World. A designer took the 4203 set and put it on rails. I don't think he/she used a train motor since his/her wheels are spaced much further apart. He/she also used a box car with draw bar. I think a gondola would make more sense to pair with an excavator to dump material into. Hi-rail Excavator by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Here it is running on some tracks: I morphed it from this originally:
  10. After much preparation I am proud to present the instructions for my Skid Steer Loader, based on the New Holland LS160; It's driven by two electric motors, steers differentially, and the boom and bucket are pneumatic. Check it out moving about on .Control is by a tethered hand controller with built in automatic pneumatic pump - instructions are included for this. There's also a chapter describing the building techniques I used, loads of photos of the model and real machine, and instructions for an optional pneumatic grab attachment. You can buy the instructions from my website and MOCplans for a small charge of $12 - these are rendered by Eric Albrecht, so you know you are buying quality. I've listed the model on Rebrickable, so it should be easy to figure out if you have the parts you need to build it! Enjoy, and please let me know what you think :-) Jennifer

    MOC: CCCXI A Man's Work

As the sun slowly climbed over the hazy horizon, a lone rooster let out a loud crow. The small, rustic town that lay beneath the great manor was alive with people, bustling to and fro. Small, ramshackle cottages were scattered around the outskirts of the village, and farmers and serfs came one by one from their doors, headed towards the fields. A smiling farmer grasped his pitchfork and small lantern as he pushed open the wooden door of his quaint, rural home. His young son scrambled out behind him, vigorously rubbing sleep out of his eyes. All the while he beamed brightly, excited to join his father for the first time working in the fields. Behind them, within their cottage, the female members of the family worked also. The boy’s mother grasped a stiff wooden broom, sweeping up pieces of thatch from the rough wooden floor. Meanwhile, a younger girl pulled a brewing pot from the fireplace and mixing it with a large spoon. The sun rose higher as the villagers went to work. This is my entry for the CCCXI on Classic Castle, A Child’s Life Category. It’s probably pretty obvious that the style of this build was greatly inspired by Derfel Cadarn and Legonardo Davidy. I've actually been wanting to build something like this for a long time, and I'll probably try it again in the future! Soli Deo Gloria!
  12. I have known this thing existed for quite a while. I don't know if anyone has ever built it in LEGO, but I was thinking of doing it in a minifig scale so that it could be displayed at events in the main display. That'd be epic If no one has started building this thing after I'm done with my airplane, then I'll do it and spend a shitload of money on belts and liftarms
